Hello,

So couldn't see a January baby post (probably because no one is mad enough to POAS as early as me!)

Anyway, I thought I would start one (waves). I am 28, this will be DC#2 making my 4 year old DS a big brother which he has been so excited about becoming (we haven't told him yet though as very early days!) I am roughly around 4 weeks and we're not planning on telling anyone for ages so thought I would start a thread so I have someone to get excited with!

Please come and say hello! Xx

Lol not stalkery at all!

I was on the PCOS thread although have moved on a little whilst I was going through IVF as most of the posters there are more in the investigation/clomid stage.

Fabulous you've got your BFP!

GerberaDaisy · 01/05/2016 18:02

Thank you Magpie. Just doesn't seem real. Although I guess everyone feels that way at this early stage? I think we told family quite early with DS but for some reason I felt like I wanted to keep it to ourselves a while. (Mainly because of my mum losing her nut over me having a girl last time and don't want a repeat!) xx

Hi ladies! Had my BFP today so according to CB digi I'm 4-5weeks. Should be around Jan 3rd!! This is my first pregnancy. A but unexpected seen as we had an appointment at the infertility clinic next week for pcos!! Smile

happylass · 01/05/2016 22:30

Congrats and welcome to the new arrivals! stealth my FC don't do any bloods at all (they didn't during my cycles either). I wish they did though as it would be great to have some reassurance. Sorry to hear you've had a stressful time but glad to hear they are keeping a close eye on you Flowers

GerberaDaisy · 01/05/2016 22:47

Hi Rosie! Congratulations!! Great timing then :-) xx

MagpieCursedTea · 02/05/2016 06:50

Gerbera how come your Mam lost it over you having a girl? Was it the excitement? I think telling family can be stressful sometimes. My MIL kept talking about how I'll probably get GD again, I'm sure she's right but it's not what I wanted to hear!

Rosie congratulations! I have PCOS too and had just started metformin a couple of months ago. I wasn't expecting it to work this quickly. So glad you got your BFP before your fertility clinic appointment!

I'm having a bit of a stressful morning. I did another FRER (I know I should step away from the tests but I can't) and it was fainter than the one I did the day before yesterday (I also tested yesterday on a CBD and got 1-2 weeks). I can't shake the feeling something is wrong. I think it's because this pregnancy feels so different from when I had DS. I'm certainly getting more symptoms but I got the positive later and the lines haven't been as dark. I think I'm driving myself a bit mad. Anyone else obsessing a bit too much?

SincerelyRosie · 02/05/2016 07:35

magpie sorry to hear you're stressing!! I read somewhere you wouldn't normally get symptoms until 4-8weeks. So fx lots of symptoms now is a strong sign.

Step back from the tests!!

MagpieCursedTea · 02/05/2016 09:29

Thanks Rosie I'll try to be more restrained until tomorrow anyway

stealthbanana · 02/05/2016 09:32

happy I didn't have bloods during my cycle either (the doctor went only off scans) but had them just to confirm the pregnancy. I did a couple of CB digis this weekend and they changed from 2-3 to 3+ right on my 5w mark so that has reassured me that my hcg is ok ignores fact that CBs are notoriously unreliable

magpie as per the above, step away from the tests! Those cb digis have a massive error rate on them. Clearly this is a case of do as I say, not as I do Grin but it is better if you can try not to obsess too much. Are you going for an early scan?

MagpieCursedTea · 02/05/2016 09:52

Stealth the digi was fine, it's the FRER I'm worrying about. I do have a digi that I'm saving for next weekend though to see if the weeks have gone up Grin
Not sure about an early scan, I'm sure sure the docs will think I need one? I've got to call the gynaecologist but I don't know if they're open today as it's a bank holiday but will give them a try.

happylass · 02/05/2016 09:52

Ha Stealth I'm relying on the CB digis too. Last week's was 2-3 which was right but I haven't done this week's yet. Should be up to 3+ now. I didn't realise they weren't reliable though. That's good to know but won't stop me using them

SincerelyRosie · 02/05/2016 09:54

When my sister in law was pregnant the doctor said the CB digis were very reliable & he didn't need to see her at first.

Have you all had your first appointment? I don't know whether to go in or ask for a phone consultation?

stealthbanana · 02/05/2016 10:03

I think they're reliable in terms of whether you're pregnant or not, rosie, it's just the weeks. The error rate is 8% which is really high for a test like that.

I am still under the care of my IVF doctor so not the best person to ask about appointments, but I think it's not normal to to have one until 8-9 weeks?

GerberaDaisy · 02/05/2016 10:03

I wouldn't worry Magpie - listen to your body! It's telling you you're pregnant. I wouldn't worry too much about the darkness of lines - mine never became as dark as pictures I've seen but I can feel I'm pregnant. I know it's hard not to worry / stress about things, but just centre yourself every now and then (easy to say, not so easy to do!)

My mum went crazy because she desperately wanted me to have a girl (I had my son!) and she apparently went mad when she was pregnant with me about having a girl (luckily she did!) xx

Rosie I haven't had my appointment or even called yet. I'm waiting until I hit 8 weeks to call the midwife, so another 3 weeks xx

Parney · 02/05/2016 10:16

I've made an appointment this week with GP so I can be referred onwards. Not in UK and have no DC, so assume I'll get bloods done, check what type I am etc.
I have aych a dodgy tummy these days, tmi bowels are so unpredictable! Anybody else? Blush boobs still sensitive but other than that I feel no different.
Interesting about Digi tests, I got 2-3weeks on day of missed period last Saturday. Was hoping to buy another this week. I'm still using all my ICs. Might stop after doctor visit!

Parney · 02/05/2016 10:16

Such* a dodgy tummy

SincerelyRosie · 02/05/2016 11:34

I've had a funny tummy too Parney bits are a little sore also they're leaking a clear liquid which is always nice!

Ok thanks everyone, I guess they have to refer me to midwife so I'll call reception & ask them to do it. That's interesting about the tests, I haven't had a period since early Jan so can't date it any other way!

What's everyone else's CM like? Just trying to compare mine. Sorry if TMI. 🙈

SincerelyRosie · 02/05/2016 11:35

Ha ha that's suppose to say boobs not bits!!! Oh my!!! Confused

GerberaDaisy · 02/05/2016 16:37

My boobs feel so ridiculously heavy. May have to start sleeping in a bra soon just to try and contain them and do some "damage control" lol! CM is quite a lot a watery. Xx

OP posts:
SincerelyRosie · 02/05/2016 20:40

Damage control Grin sports bra for me I think!

Ok, just ensuring everything is going ok down there. First time nerves I think!!

MagpieCursedTea · 02/05/2016 21:13

I've not made any appointments yet as everything has been closed for the bank holiday. I'll have to phone my surgery in the morning. I'm a bit worried about seeing people I know as our midwives are based at the children's centre and my work is connected to that. I'll just have to pretend I'm there for a meeting! Getting ahead of myself though, as far as I remember the first appointment won't be until around 9 weeks. Is that still the case?

Parney I had a really dodgy tummy throughout my pregnancy with DS, I was never far from a loo. Just nausea so far this time though. I never found anything that helped, I just had to make sure I stayed well hydrated.

GerberaDaisy · 03/05/2016 08:01

Magpie it tends to be between 8-10 weeks that midwives do the booking appointment. I'm calling around 7-8 weeks to get booked in (their diaries are normally pretty full!) xx

OP posts:
Parney · 03/05/2016 11:11

Thanks Magpie, really trying to drink more water which seems to be helping. I'm up a few times at night too, other than that I'm ok. Also if it's you're line of work, I doubt people will question why you're there!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

TheRainbowAlpacalypse · 03/05/2016 14:04

Feeling really sick here! Don't remember it being this bad first time round! Confused
