Hello,

So couldn't see a January baby post (probably because no one is mad enough to POAS as early as me!)

Anyway, I thought I would start one (waves). I am 28, this will be DC#2 making my 4 year old DS a big brother which he has been so excited about becoming (we haven't told him yet though as very early days!) I am roughly around 4 weeks and we're not planning on telling anyone for ages so thought I would start a thread so I have someone to get excited with!

Please come and say hello! Xx

What vitamins is everyone taking? I was on Seven Seas and didn't know if they were making me a bit constipated, but I have run out of those now so I'm taking Boots Pregnancy Plus xx

I've started feeling queasy. It's really early for that and I'm hoping it's not a sign that I'm going get it as bad as I did with DD because it wasn't nice! Still, a good sign my hormones are doing what they should I suppose :)
Talking about chromosome tests and baby sex, we will be going for the NIPT tests at 10 weeks and also finding out the sex. Not that we mind what it is, I just have no patience to wait and as it's available as part of the trisomy testing I'll make use of it :)

ZylaB · 24/04/2016 11:33

gerbera I'm taking pregnacare as well as my super strength 5mg (!) folic acid :)

GerberaDaisy · 24/04/2016 13:01

Zyla, are you accessing the NIPT privately? It's similar to the quadruple test isn't it but looks at more? I am still in two minds whether we will find out baby's gender. We found out with DS at 16 weeks with a private scan but not sure whether we want to this time! Xx

OP posts:
ZylaB · 24/04/2016 13:35

It doesn't look at more than the combined test, but is more accurate and also has a lot less false positives. Because I'm older I don't want the agony of a false positive and the decision of whether to have more tests or not. And yes, it's private but my lovely DH knows how much I worry and so we decided that anything to reduce stress was worth it.

GerberaDaisy · 24/04/2016 13:44

Good for you Zyla, need to do what's right for you and your family. Let us know how you get on with that. What number baby is this for you? And what have you got already? Xx

OP posts:
ZylaB · 24/04/2016 13:53

This is number 2, I have a 14 month old DD :)

GerberaDaisy · 24/04/2016 14:25

How lovely! Baby no 2 for me too. We would love a girl because we have a DS but we will also be over the moon with another little chap. Xx

Hey everyone another with a 01/012017 EDD. This will be DC2 for me. Have a DD who is 8. Oh and I am 27 (28 next week) partner is 39 and it's his first baby Smile

GerberaDaisy · 25/04/2016 18:47

Woohoo Rainbow - congratulations! So I'm guessing as you're due the same time as me that your period is due tomorrow? How you feeling? I strangely feel nervous, like tomorrow is going to "seal the deal" xx

OP posts:
ZylaB · 25/04/2016 19:39

I'm due tomorrow too! I've bought extra tests to reassure myself :/

TheRainbowAlpacalypse · 25/04/2016 19:44

Mine was due Sunday. Very similar feelings though! I bought extra tests for the same reason Zyla

GerberaDaisy · 25/04/2016 21:54

Ha ha! I went out and bought a digital just to "make sure" and yup pregnant lol! Just want tomorrow over and no sign of the witch and I'll feel better xx

Hi, congratulations everyone! This thread is exactly what I'm looking for! Edd is NYE based on O! BFP came Saturday, (digi 2-3weeks) when AF didn't come Friday night. Ashamed to say I've done several tests since as I can't quite believe it! It's such a worrying and expensive time!!
We have no DC yet, so very excited! I had been very crampy until today, so I'mworried as now I don't feel any different.
I'm not sure about ICs darkening, I've used mine up. Was snow white on Wednesday BFN then Saturday I did two and thought they were quite dark! I got a few more today and will compare tomorrow. Hope everyone's feeling good!

Parney · 25/04/2016 22:00

GerberaD, great news about digi!

GerberaDaisy · 26/04/2016 06:58

Hey Parney, congratulations! I think it's natural to do a few tests because during the early stages you only have that and how you're feeling don't you? I think I did 8 tests in total - the first three we're negative (the shame lol!) xx

OP posts:
DerelictMyBalls · 26/04/2016 14:43

I've done tons of tests but am trying to lay off them for a few days because they don't assuage my anxiety - quite the opposite!

Is everyone feeling well? i have a weird drooly mouth and sore breasts but feel pretty good.

Parney · 26/04/2016 14:49

Nipples tingling a lot today Blush slight stomach/ bug like ache has been coming and going. I had cramping in lead up to AF but not now, thankfully. Trying to eat well, which is proving to be tough!

happylass · 26/04/2016 16:14

Hello Ladies. Would you mind if I join you please? I'm 38 and another IVF-er. We've been TTC#1 for almost 4 years and finally got our first ever BFP on Saturday. These were the 10th & 11th embryos we've had put back so still feeling very, very shocked and completely petrified!! I've already tested twice but OTD isn't until tomorrow (by which time I'll be the equivalent of 19dpo) so I'll do a digi in the morning just to make tripley sure and probably test another hundred times after that

Hope everyone's feeling ok?!

TheRainbowAlpacalypse · 26/04/2016 16:32

I can't remember how many I did! One was too early though! Still not quite sunk in despite the evidence!

GerberaDaisy · 26/04/2016 18:39

Feeling still very tired, think sickness is starting to kick in, slowly but surely! Had some strange stabbing pains down below this morning (sorry way TMI!) but no visit from AF today so that's made me feel a bit more positive.

Hello Happy - congratulations!! How lovely! Thats understandable for you to feel that way, bless you. Lots of positive thoughts coming your way!

Love the progression Rainbow!! So clear how they're getting darker.

So when are people calling their midwives to book in? I am going to wait until I've passed 8 weeks and then call xx

ZylaB · 26/04/2016 19:08

Congrats everyone!
I'm also shattered, that's my main symptom I think. I feel queasy at times too, then starving hungry..but mainly just tired! (That's and my sugars being all over which is usual at this stage but annoying to control)

princessconsuelobananahammock · 26/04/2016 19:16

Can I join too please?! EDD 31st December & this is number 2 for us Smile

stealthbanana · 26/04/2016 19:43

Hi everyone!

Am Shock that you can all figure out whether you're pregnant by whether your period comes. I'd forgotten that's how normal people do it! I have never had regular cycles (I don't ovulate) so the idea of being able to predict when a period arrives is amazing.

I am feeling pretty rough - have a full on cold! Gah! A bit queasy and slightly tender boobs, and exhausted of course. This better not continue for much longer!

gerbera I am not sure about booking in, I'm going private for antenatal care so not even sure if I need to inform the NHS?? How do you normally do it? I'll probably switch from my IVF consultant to a "normal" antenatal consultant at the 12 week mark - if I make it that far!

happylass · 26/04/2016 20:33

Now you've all got me worried as, apart from a few regular niggles, I've got no symptoms whatsoever Hmm
I have to ring the FC tomorrow to report my BFP and think they'll scan me in about 3 weeks when, all being well, I'll then be discharged in to normal antenatal care.
