Hello,

So couldn't see a January baby post (probably because no one is mad enough to POAS as early as me!)

Anyway, I thought I would start one (waves). I am 28, this will be DC#2 making my 4 year old DS a big brother which he has been so excited about becoming (we haven't told him yet though as very early days!) I am roughly around 4 weeks and we're not planning on telling anyone for ages so thought I would start a thread so I have someone to get excited with!

Please come and say hello! Xx

I've made a GP appointment and hoping to be referred for scan. Not sure how these things work though as it's all so new!

ZylaB · 26/04/2016 21:38

You can self refer to community midwives here. I'll ring them in a few weeks as they usually do booking in by 10 weeks.

GerberaDaisy · 26/04/2016 22:32

Hi Princess! Congratulations!!

Stealth that must seem odd to you if you haven't been able to predict yours. That must be hard. Just speak to your GP and they can refer you into the NHS if needs be. Will you be giving birth in an NHS hospital? If so, then you will usually need to be booked with that hospital so they are aware of you. But may be different in your area, so speak to your GP and the people who are providing your private antenatal care Xx

Hi Parney,

With NHS you can either go through GP and they will refer you to the midwives or you can usually self-refer to the midwives. Once you are booked in you are offered a dating scan around 12 weeks. This is usually the first scan done unless there are concerns I.e. Bleeding. Xx

Hey Happy, I wouldn't worry if you're not experiencing symptoms as everyone is different and you may find yours start in a week or so anyway. But for some women they don't experience them at all. Your BFP is a good indicator. Go with that xx

Hi every one, congratulations to everyone new.
I've not got any symptoms either, apart from mega tiredness, but having 3 children already could have something to do with that!!
I really need to start eating more healthily. I'm thinking about getting a nutri bullet just to get more fruit into me, I'm terrible at eating fresh fruit.
I've also started taking some pregnancy vitamins, but have been taking folic acid for a little while now. As I'm an older mummy, (older mummy classed as over 35!!!!! BlushShock) I'm going to take my normal folic acid tablet alongside the new pregnancy vitamins.

I don't think we self refer here (she says totally out the loop at it was 9 years ago) so have a gp appointment for next week Smile

Princesspinkgirl · 28/04/2016 18:21

Hello ladies I'm due December 25th congratulations

princessconsuelobananahammock · 28/04/2016 18:46

I want some symptoms too! I feel totally fine. I had a MMC last summer so I'm anxious but i know that there's no anything I can do about it either way (within reason obvs!) so I need to get on with it - this is going to be a long 7/8 weeks until 12 week scan!

ZylaB · 29/04/2016 06:52

Got my first hospital appointment! 2 weeks on Wednesday, I'll be 7+1 so hopefully will see a heartbeat. Don't know how I can manage until then though ;)
Hope everyone is feeling ok!

GerberaDaisy · 29/04/2016 08:28

Congratulations Princess Pink! Wow Christmas baby eh?

Good luck Zyla - let us know how you get on xx

Hi, another NYE due date here! I'm feeling quite wobbly because I had a MMC before DD (13months) but hoping everything is ok. Think we'll go for a scan at 8-9 weeks!

happylass · 30/04/2016 06:26

Congratulations to everyone who's just joined. So I finally took the plunge and rang the FC. I have my first scan on May 18th by which time I'll be 7+5. No idea how I'm going to hang on until then!!

GerberaDaisy · 30/04/2016 08:35

Congratulations Tea and Biscuits! Wow Christmas and New Year is going to be a busy time! Wonder if any of us will have the uncertain 16-17 baby born at midnight!!

That's good that you have called the FC Happy and got your scan. It probably does feel a long time away - have you got things to keep you busy? I'm crocheting things!! Xx

Hello all! I just got my BFP this morning after 17 months of TTC. It's our second (DS is 2.5) and I'm in shock! Due date according to my LMP is Christmas Day but I ovulated really late so according to that my EDD is 8th January. I've been feeling sick for a few days which is strange as the sickness didn't kick in until about 6 weeks with DS.

GerberaDaisy · 30/04/2016 14:20

Congratulations Magpie! Wow that's been a long journey for you! I've been feeling since for the last week, so from 4 weeks and I was surprised too as didn't start with DS until 6 weeks too! Xx

Hi all! Smile

Got my BFP today! Due around the 9th Jan with my 3rd! Already have 3yo girl and 2yo boy! Desperately hoping this is a sticky one as suffered a mc on 6th Feb Sad xx

GerberaDaisy · 30/04/2016 20:51

Hey Cuckoo and congratulations!! Sticky thoughts to you.

Anyone else dying to tell someone? I just feel like it's not really happening. DH is the only one who knows and he's not acting or treating me any different. He doesn't really talk about it unless I do... Xx

Gerbera sorry you're getting the sickness too but glad to hear it's not just be getting it early this time. I wonder what causes the early onset and if that's common with subsequent pregnancies? We told my parents yesterday as they live round the corner and I see them most days, so they'd know something was up (especially when I refuse wine). We also told DH's parents as we'd told mine. That'll be it until much later though. It made me nervous telling them as its so early. I keep worrying s/he won't stick.

Cuckoo congratulations! Hope this is a sticky one!

Anyone else getting cramping? I don't remember getting any with DS and it's been quite painful for the last few days. I've read it can be normal but it's making me nervous.
I got diagnosed with PCOS back in February so I've been taking metformin for that and wasn't told whether or not to keep taking it if I got pregnant (it seemed so unlikely without Clomid). I've read mixed things online and the doctors are shut until Tuesday, something else to worry about!

cuckoowith2 · 01/05/2016 06:53

I'm feeling abit crampy today, I'm not due af untill tomorrow so I feel like I'm thinking myself in to it! Going to get some tests today! Already done 4 Blush when I mc we didn't find out untill our 12 week scan when they couldn't find a heartbeat and baby measured 6-7 weeks, I mc naturally a few days later, so I'm hoping the gp will refer me for an early scan, if not I'll book a private one, I definitely won't be able to wait until 12 weeks again!

happylass · 01/05/2016 07:48

Another one feeling a bit crampy today. I've had niggles since before the BFP but they were always more of a pulling sensation. I know full well it could all be perfectly normal but it's such a worry isn't it?
We told my parents yesterday too Magpie. DM cried (we've been TTC for 4 years!) then they got really excited and started firing questions about due dates and twins. Had to tell them to stop though as I'm also very nervous as its so, so early.

MagpieCursedTea · 01/05/2016 07:59

Happylass what a result after 4 years! Congrats Smile the cramping does feel worrying but it sounds normal. It seems like a lot of women experience it early on though so I'm not to get in a panic about it.

Cuckoo I've been through 4 tests too, I find them reassuring! Sounds like you went through a lot with your mc, completely understandable that you'd want an early scan this time.

stealthbanana · 01/05/2016 10:26

Congrats everyone on your BFPs!

magpie I'm on metformin too (another PCOSer, except I don't ovulate at all). You continue on it until the end of the first trimester, so don't worry about continuing to take it.

happy massive congratulations! . Did you have your betas done? I had 2 done last week and my hcg was nice and high and doubling, but I had a massive fall I progesterone between the 2 (it went from 83 to 27 Shock) so my cyclogest has been upped and I have to go back for another blood test next week. Mega stressful - the consultant said he is not worried as the hcg is so high, but...you know.

We told both of our immediate families (and I told my secretary because I had to!) but other than that we won't tell anyone until 12 weeks, if we are lucky enough to get that far.

Hope everyone else is having a fabulous weekend! I'm feeling tired and nauseous but (much to DHs disgust) not even a little bit of boob growth. Too early, I guess!

GerberaDaisy · 01/05/2016 14:27

Yes been having a lot of cramps this time around but didn't with DS. We haven't told anyone at the moment. DH is not so much of a darling at the moment (casually asked me to pick up a 10kg bag of compost whilst I did the food shopping this morning bearing in mind I pull a muscle when I sneeze at the moment!) almost want someone to share it with who gets excited. Still feeling exhausted but that's a good sign things are continuing. Congrats to anyone new if I have missed them xx

Gerbera you have us! We're all excited for you! Grin

Stealth thanks that's reassuring! I think I've seen you on the PCOS thread? Or was it the Clomid one? Sorry that sounds really stalkery! I posted on both a few times.
