Hello,

So couldn't see a January baby post (probably because no one is mad enough to POAS as early as me!)

Anyway, I thought I would start one (waves). I am 28, this will be DC#2 making my 4 year old DS a big brother which he has been so excited about becoming (we haven't told him yet though as very early days!) I am roughly around 4 weeks and we're not planning on telling anyone for ages so thought I would start a thread so I have someone to get excited with!

Please come and say hello! Xx

I read somewhere that if you're having to get up a lot to pee then you should aim to drink more in the first half of the day and then gradually reduce your amount (whilst still getting enough to be properly hydrated of course) towards the evening so that you've not got a full bladder when you go to bed. The only problem with this for me is that I'm thirsty ALL the time so I can't imagine being able to drink less at anytime. But it might be worth a shot - you need your sleep!

Bella1985 · 27/09/2016 10:30

I'm the same colonol I drink loads during the day and averaged 1 pee every hour yesterday whilst at work. (Sorry if tmi!). Having seen your responses I've googled UTIs in pregnancy and might pop along to the doctors to check that I don't have one. I think I might just be unlucky though and baby just loves to use my bladder as a ball!

Emz32 · 27/09/2016 13:08

This little does huge great big flips & kicks me all over the place. But that's probably because this is my second & as my grandmother pointed out - my muscles have all been stretched before so more room for this one Hmm

Admarks · 28/09/2016 08:06

Im with you all on the wee front! Hopefully you don't have a uti Bella (your pattern sounds similiar to mine)

If I get up to wee once a night, it's a good night! I think I turn over about once every 2-3 hours due to numb hips and shoulders Hmm. I've had some shocking nights where I feel like I've been up every hour for a wee, these normally coincide with really bad back pain and no sleep (then being tired the next day with the potential for big arguments with OH cos I kept him up). Once in a blue moon I have an un-wee-disturbed night (Monday!), but am still shattered from the hauling myself over!!

Working from home today and struggling to get out of bed, despite being awake for an hour and a half!! Have a good day all!

colonolthirteen · 28/09/2016 14:47

Ok, I take back what I said the other day about not being that hungry. I am FAMISHED this week. Almost constantly (except for when I feel sick), but mostly famished.

And the worst thing is I've been a vegetarian for about 8 years now and all I want is KFC.

What fresh hell is this????

Bella1985 · 28/09/2016 21:31

admarks it's comforting to know that there is someone else like me out there and as if by magic, I had a miraculous pee free night last night! I did wake up a couple of times to turn over but fell back to sleep almost immediately. I think I was so tired from the previous night I desperately needed the sleep! I've felt kicks today in a new location so the baby must have moved. Yay!

Oh no colonol that's awful...I can't say I have any 'cravings' at the moment. I had a whim for dark chocolate for a while but after eating some, its gone away....a bit easier to sort than your meat dilemma!

happylass · 28/09/2016 23:18

I feel like a weirdo now as I never need a wee through the night! I drink loads through the day but probably less in the evening. I do have a green tea before bed though. Maybe it's being a teacher and only being able to pee at certain times of the day! The loos in work are miles from my classroom too.
I'm generally sleeping ok, though a bit restless and waking earlier than usual.
Colonol I too am veggie but haven't had any meat cravings thank goodness. Appetite still isn't great generally and nausea still makes an appearance from time to time.
27 weeks today Shock. Time is flying by!!

colonolthirteen · 29/09/2016 09:18

Happy 27 weeks happylass!

If anyone is out there who is in Leicestershire I found out that they're doing a great thing with reusable nappies where they lend you some for 4 weeks. Here's the link:

Emz32 · 29/09/2016 12:52

Food for me is all over the place. I'm struggling as all I want to eat is sweet things, cravings for chocolate! Iv also completely gone off peanut butter & marmite which I craved with my son. I'm also back to feeling shattered by lunchtime & needing a nap. Is this just the approach to the 3rd trimester?

Admarks · 29/09/2016 20:37

Happy 27 weeks Happy!

No cravings here either, hope your craving for KFC goes away Col. I'm still constantly hungry and am drawn towards the unhealthy stuff.

I've started feeling a bit ropey in the mornings and tiredness is ramping up a level too Emz . I think it may be the start of third trimester symptoms.....

Admarks · 29/09/2016 20:41

Ohh - good news about baby move Bella! I'm waiting (hoping) for mine to move away from my bladder!

On that note, does anyone else find themselves desperate for another wee about 10 minutes after going. I'm almost at the stage where I just stay put until my second wee comes!! Or maybe I'm just weird or have a UTI!

Bella1985 · 29/09/2016 21:59

admarks I was in exactly the same position as you earlier this week and it seems to have eased, I don't know if it was baby's position or a UTI that got better but I only got up once last night and none at all the night before. The night before that it was 5 times!! I really hope that you catch a break soon, it's really frustrating isn't it.

Tiredness is increasing, I booked a week off next week as its been a tough summer in work and I can't last till december without a break. Managed to fill it with loads of plans and appointments though...ooops.

They're going to advertise for my replacement soon at work...feels so strange! Things are getting very real!

Admarks · 30/09/2016 06:51

In jealous of your week off Bella! I have three days annual leave left (I'm using the rest before my maternity leave starts) so I'm planning on using them wisely ie when I'm really knackered.

I'm hoping my jobs will be advertised soon too, all the paperwork has been back and forth to HR for some time now. It makes me think how much I still need to do (plus how unproductive I've been for the last few months - I'm so behind!!)

When are those at work finishing?

Happy 27 weeks Bella and Col (third trimester next week- eeek Confused!)

Bella1985 · 30/09/2016 07:30

Also - today is the 30th... three months to this date is our EDD - eeeek!

I'm stopping at 36 weeks (last day 2nd December - wooop!), I can't wait to finish and start focussing entirely on the baby and DH. Work is so stressful, you'd think that we're saving lives (we're not, it's marketing)...! Confused

Have a great weekend!

colonolthirteen · 30/09/2016 08:37

Happy 27 weeks! I'm confused about when the third trimester starts - different sources say anything from 27 to 29 weeks?! So confusing.

My last day is the 25th of November. Due to complete luck I've managed to save up 3 weeks of holiday (and our holiday year starts halfway through the calendar year) so I've only got 8 weeks left of work Shock

colonolthirteen · 30/09/2016 09:56

How well is everyone getting along with doing their pelvic floor exercises? I tend to forget for days on end and then end up trying to make up for it all in one day. I don't think that's really the way to go is it...

stealthbanana · 30/09/2016 12:46

Happ 27 weeks! (Tomorrow for me - so 3 months and 1 day to d day - eek!)

I am not doing too badly on sleeping, hips are sore so I do wake up a bit but it's usually only once a night. On the other hand I am getting a pain under my ribs on the right hand side every time I eat - anyone else? And definitely starting to feel a bit more tired (and getting a bit bigger too!)

I'm finishing at 38 weeks - jealous of you guys finishing earlier! Will take 1 week of hols and then start mat leave on Christmas Day. The only good thing is that at least December is always full of Christmas cheer at work and everyone is starting to wind down for the year anyway. I have a week of hols booked in a couple of weeks, we are going to Spain and I CANT WAIT. Am just going to sleep and sit on the beach and by the pool.

And I am terrible with remembering pelvic floor exercises. I am still doing Pilates 3x a week so I'm hoping that (plus a swim and some yoga) will be enough in lieu of doing specific pelvic floor exercises Hmm

Emz32 · 30/09/2016 13:08

Happy 27 weeks! Iv got to wait until Monday for that. I was going to ask about pelvic floor. I did them religiously when I was pregnant with my DS and straight after birth I was surprised that I could still feel them. But this time Iv been really slack. What's worrying me is the other morning I woke with a very full bladder on & my way to the toilet I sneezed.... Rather embarrassingly I then sprang a little leak Blush. It hasn't happened again but u was mortified & worried I need to step up the pelvic floor. So jealous of your holiday Stealth. Hope you get to really relax & unwind. As I work for my husbands company I won't be finishing properly, but December is quiet so it will probably come to a natural stop beg/mid Dec. Although that does mean I don't officially have mat leave & will still be sending emails & chasing up the odd bit - hopefully that will be quite easily done whilst I'm feeding. Grin

colonolthirteen · 30/09/2016 14:12

I'm also v jealous of your holiday stealth - good timing though - just before you get too uncomfortably big! I feel like I'm already starting this phase.
emz I'm glad to hear that the first time round you feel you benefitted from the exercises, at least it's not all in vain. I am also trying to do yoga often (did lots pre-pregnancy) and go walking every day. But I have had WAY more than just 1 incident...so I think you're doing really well!

Emz32 · 30/09/2016 17:03

Oh Col you have made me feel so much better! I have noticed that it sometimes feels like I'm leaking but I'm not. It must just be the pressure when our bladders are getting full. I am doing yoga once a week which has helped as well. I definitely felt the difference last time. I have a friend in her mid twenties who has a toddler & struggles to hold on when she needs the loo. Hmm

Admarks · 30/09/2016 19:37

I'm with you all on the pelvic floors exercises, I always forget except after the few times I've had a sneezing incident (where I promise myself to be better). Best get on and do some today!

Also jealous of your holiday Stealth!

Happy 27 weeks for tomorrow Stealth and Monday Emz

I finish work at 37 weeks - 10 weeks today...** I have a feeling it's going to get increasingly busy at work as I've got a few projects on with will need to be finished before I go (or handed over to my currently non-existent maternity cover!)

Bella1985 · 30/09/2016 23:15

Oh stealth a holiday in Spain sounds glorious! Lovely!

colonol and almost everyone else that replied - I'm the same with pelvic floor...I always remember late at night that I haven't done any during the day and then try and do loads in a space of 15 mins before bed...it must be better than doing nothing but probably not the way forward!

Bella1985 · 03/10/2016 09:05

Hope you've all had a great weekend. I've got a growth scan this afternoon, really excited to see baby again, he's definately moved up higher so can't wait to see what position he's in!

Had the worst day of tiredness yesterday, I woke up at 10.30am! Couldn't move from bed, DH brought me toast and tea in bed at 11am and laughed his head off at how rough I was looking (not in a mean way though, he let me stay there and did the washing and cleaning bless him). I can't believe how tired I felt. I did have a busy day on saturday after a long hard week but wow, I hope it was a one off and not a sign of things to come in the third trimester!

colonolthirteen · 03/10/2016 10:18

Good luck with your growth scan bella!

I hear you with the tiredness, I went to bed at 8:30pm last night Shock

Has anyone had a glucose intolerance test? I've got one a week today and I'm really not looking forward to it. Mainly because I have to drink lucozade!

Bella1985 · 03/10/2016 10:40

I will be having the glucose test on Friday. I'm not looking forward to it either, sounds grim!
