Bienchen, I love the motherease airflow and the natures baby popper wraps, have a natures baby one hat I have used on DD since she was born and am still using it now she is 22 months as you can adjust the rise with the poppers, so really good value.
Suzi2 I have my own homebirth box that I have all the bits in I may need, aromatherapy oils, rescue remedy, homeopathy kit, small ball (size and density of a sqush ball for sacral massage, face spritz, straws, baby's first clothes etc) so I don't have to send DH running aimlessly round the house trying to find things that I demand! I also have some waterproof sheeting, old duvets for making a "nest" and old towels. I haven't got any "care mats/inco sheets" as used my last up on the last birth I attended and my midwife will bring some. I always recommend women have a clean bucket to hand in case they feel nauseaus, plenty of ice in the freezer, lots of snacks and easy to eat energy foods (dried fruit, cereal bars) but other than that I tend to take anything that would be needed. I don't bother with a hot water bottle as I have a heated pad that I use but your m/w may not so a hottie or a wheatie is a good idea. There really is not that much to get, oh you will prob want a sieve for the pool and a thermometer as your m/w will prob not pring ne, especially as you she they havn't had much experience in pool use, a floating thermometer from an aquatic supplier or baby store (one with the actually degrees on it not just a tick and a cross!) is prob the best then you don't have the m/w constantly dipping her hand in your pool and invading your space! If you are really not convinced about your m/ws palpation skills then I would ask for a second opinion and to be refered for a scan to give yourself as much time as poss to encourage baby to move.
Suis, glad everything arrived ok, the Rainbow Tots nappies are soooo cute I can't wait to get them on a tiny baby again! Just sorted out myself a huge nappy bin as I am going to have two in washables, that said DD has started to use her potty, but prefers the toilet (which is a but of a pain as we don't have one downstairs and it takes me forever to crawl slowly up the stairs at the moment so I think I am hindering her potty training a little!). Have decided that sleepsuits must now be a thing of the past for her as as soon as she is ready for bed she asks for the toilet and I have to strip her right down again, so from tonight she will be a grown up girl in PJ's! Seems so wierd as DS was only just fully toilet trained before his 5th Birthday (I know now that this is to do with the autism) so we are taking great delight in her weeing on a toilet at this age! The excitement of parenthood!
