Peachy, thanks for posting link and thanks to everyone who has been to look, will get DH onto sorting out a voucher code so if anyone wants to order anything they can get a discount!
ChaCha and Suzi2, feel sooooo sorry for you, I love my sleep and have felt sleep deprived since the end of my last preg, DD still doesn't sleep through bit I did quit the cosleeping when I was about 12 weeks pregnant and I have had much better is broken sleep, I really don't know how you re coping on 4 hours a night. Steriods can deffinatly make you a bit "loopy"! just be careful that a double morning does dosen't send you over the edge, you may get shaking hands or palpitations is it is too much for you, might find baby doing a bit of a sprint aswell! Have you tried some aromatherapy to help the insomnia, lavenedr and chamomile would be good, especially if you could get DH to give you a head/shoulder massage alongside it! Not well up on flower remedies but these are often good, rescue remedy may help calm the "on the ceiling" side effects of the steriods.
Moosma, I eould deff pay out for a good childrens wardrobe, chest of drawers that has well thought out storage and looks good, not sure about a cot bed as mine have never been in their cots long DD was in hers 3 weeks, prior to that she slept with us and then we got her nto her own bed at 18 months!
Bubble, I would think about a formal complaint to the HOM about the way the registrar spoke to you, how dare he, I think you might find the consultant a whole different kettle of fish, I often found that registrars had ideas above their stations and still really did not know enough about obs and gyne to make the best decissions. How about asking the surgeon who did the repair to be involved in the discussion, after all he is the one who will end up with another repair on his caseload if the worse does happen and you already know he is supportive of your wishes. Have you told any of the docs that this surgeon recommended a cs for the next birth? If so they really should have written to him to ask his opinion.
Andyrob, don't hospital make you laugh, they find a problem then are so busy concentrating on that that they forget the whole reason you are there in the first place IMO palpation for liqour volume and fetal growth is vital at every check up when a woman has gestational diabetes. It's good that you have your community m/w to rely on for this though.
