Happy New Year to you all, and thanks for the new thread Peachy! Sorry to hear that some had quite stressful Christmases - hope everything resolves itself - and that lots of you are tired/in pain/fed up/hormonal.
We had a quiet Christmas, just me, my mum and DH. Was lovely though and very relaxing. Went to friends for dinner for New Year's Eve which was great; really enjoyed myself despite abstinence from alcohol. Didn't get to bed until 3am so feeling a little jaded today, but just chilling out at home with DH after treating ourselves to a nice cooked breakfast this morning.
Bump feels huge to me but people are constantly telling me how 'neat' it is and how I haven't put on any weight except the bump. I feel as though I have but maybe it's just because I look completely different to how I looked pre-pregnancy and have never seen myself with a huge belly before! Feeling really well though - no heartburn, nausea, tiredness or pains (sorry, not what you all want to hear, I'm sure).
Had my 31-week midwife appointment on Friday, the first with a different midwife from the one I have seen since the start. Didn't like this one much - she was pleasant enough, but rather perfunctory: just went through the motions of testing urine, blood pressure etc. (all fine) but didn't seem particularly interested so I was glad I didn't have any issues to bring up. My blood test results from my last appointment (for iron etc) still haven't been sent through after 3 weeks, which I thought was a bit poor, but assume if there were any problems I would have been contacted. If not I've been anaemic for three weeks now with no treatment!
Getting a bit worried reading how organised you all are! We now have pram and car seat, also nursery furniture but no cot. Have a few soft toys and a couple of baby outfits picked up in the sale (for older baby though). Have no idea what size clothes to buy as have no idea how much baby will weigh - will it be in tiny baby or newborn size, and should I buy some of each just in case? Haven't even thought about a hospital bag yet, although I only have 8 weeks to go until 40 weeks and of course may not get that far. I should have taken heed at next door neighbour's case - she's just had baby 5 weeks early. Could be me although hope not as still oads to do at work before maternity leave starts and would like some me-time at home before little one arrives!
