Hi everyone Smile I dropped off the last thread, but will try to keep up better this time round!

I'm also definitely not blooming at 25 weeks! Struggling with tiredness and hip pain, and already starting to count down the weeks left.

laughingGnomette · 18/02/2016 14:59

Wow! They're practically giving it away at that price!! Grin

nehagarg · 18/02/2016 15:26

lol. yep!

Welcome back jbiscuits .. Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit rough.

I've found you again.

I've been wearing my normal jeans still up to now but had to put my old decorating clothes on today and can't fasten them!

I've been looking at the next to me too, I really like the circles design but not sure I could turn down such a fab offer on the pink one!! nehagarg thanks for that suggestion, I'd always assumed the next to me would go in our room but your suggestion had made me think about using our guest room.

nehagarg · 18/02/2016 17:00

Lol. Its quite funny. But in all honesty, thats a good website with some great discounts. Www.discountbabyequip.co.uk.

Yep cautious, the only reason we are doing it is to allow whoever is not attending the baby to continue sleeping in our room so both of us arent woken up when the baby wants feeding. We are both light sleepers so this is the only way we can get some sleep. DH wants to do every bit he can. I am not going to say no to that!

We bought the chicco next2me last night from mamas and papas. Label said £149.99 but we got charged £150. I didn't say anything as it's only a penny and I don't hugely care, but it was a bit strange.

No bloom here either, though I was told today that I was looking much better than I had been and maybe I was blooming? Nope, just bothered to put on makeup this morning. The rest of the time that's just my face, but thanks boss!

GrubbyWindows · 18/02/2016 20:21

Spock that's hilarious!

We hired the bednest last time, and will again- no storage in our tiny flat, so sending it back after was great! You can tilt it and use it as a travel cot or Moses basket if you want to- we didn't end up doing either, we have no car so our travel cot is a superlight pop up tent thing which we can carry on the train!
I loved it, and think it looks nice too, so we have booked one again this time around.

I'm already feeling very big and third trimesterish- four more months to go, argh! Last month must have been the bloom (ie, just a bit more knackered than usual, rather than flat out...)

17 I know scanners find it harder to find the baby with women with a high BMI, so it stands to reason that feeling kicks outside might be later too? I reckon your theory is right!

sambababy · 18/02/2016 21:59

No blooming here either! Exhausted all the time and spd has kicked in, I knew it would. At least I don't have acne this time!

I went for the Snuzpod. Nehagarg** have you seen the next2me in a shop? The mattress is very hard, you might need to lay something on it. I saw one in mothercare but I think they can't have put it together properly because it didn't feel very sturdy. I also read you can't do the side up whilst the cot is attached to your bed, if you think you would want to at some point, like when the baby starts rolling. It has definite plus points though, especially if you'll need to travel.

Only 4 months to go, I can't believe it and I'm so not mentally ready for another birth yet!

MollieRos · 18/02/2016 22:07

I like the idea of the cosleepers but I'm a bit worried about my duvet drifting over onto it in the night- the whole point would be that I'd use it with the side down so it was just like an extension to our mattress. The duvet endlessly falls off my side of the bed no matter how much I try and pile it over on DH's side, and I'm just worried it'll end up smothering the baby. People that've used them before, how likely is it that this would happen?

Belleboo23 · 19/02/2016 07:55

After feeling unsure because of the hard mattress in the chicco (I've read quite a few reviews saying baby wouldn't settle in it) I've discovered it won't work with our bed anyway!! We have a leather sleigh type bed and the legs won't go under so there's no way of using it to Co sleep, I guess that's made my mind up for me!! Looking at the innovi cocoon for travel now and keeping downstairs for daytime sleeps. It seems well rated, just need to make a decision on what to go for upstairs!!

iamdivergent · 19/02/2016 08:09

It's like you're all talking another language 😅 we have a family moses basket with new mattress and family cot with new mattress. Need to get some bedding for baby - I'm a grobag fan, and going to try the swaddle blankets too this time

nehagarg · 19/02/2016 08:34

I have read that too Belleboo but worst case scenario, I'll stick the sleepyhead in the next2me. Though I am hoping the baby wont get addicted to that thing.

About the legs, I read they fold over if you have a very low bed.

I am getting swaddle blankets too divergent. Though how could anyone like being wrapped up that tight is beyond me. Grin

belle I think the 'feet' twist sideways so you can still have it flush next to a bed like yours.

nehagarg - DS hated being swaddled. I don't blame him either!

I've been thinking about slings again and really like the look of the moby aria. It seems to address the issues that I had with the ergo (no built in newborn insert and very hot in the summer). I just have to track one down to have a look at and try out. :)

Belleboo23 · 19/02/2016 10:06

I think I'm best to go have a look in mothercare see what I think of the mattress don't really want to spend extra out on a nest to go in it. Thanks for the info on the folding legs never knew that!

nehagarg · 19/02/2016 10:25

25 week midwife appt done. Very unglamarous but did get my GTT results which measure normal. Phew!

(Where's that chocolate now?)

jbiscuits · 19/02/2016 10:29

divergent I also don't have a clue about co-sleeping cots. We also have a family rocking crib (used to be mine!) which we'll use next to the bed, and then will buy a cot when baby grows out of it.

Grobags (or cheaper alternatives) are great once baby is big enough. DS still uses them at 19m. They're especially great for keeping baby snuggled up and warm for night feeds.

emma85x · 19/02/2016 10:36

WOHOO!! Just felt baby move from the outside for the first time!! Amazing!! Hope he'll perform for DH when he gets home tonight!

nehagarg Glad your 25 week appointment went well. Do you mind me asking what happens at the appointment? Also does everyone need to get GTT test done?!

strawberrypenguin · 19/02/2016 11:04

Glad your GTT came back as normal nehagarg Smile

I'm not going for a co-sleeper as I don't think I'd sleep well with one, the idea freaks me out a little! Plus DS has never been allowed to sleep in our bed so it seems a bit infair to start with this one. We've bought a new Moses basket as the one we had for DS looked a bit saggy and baby will go from that to cot as DS did.

emma not everyone needs a GTT. They are usually given either if you have a family history that suggests you might develop GD or if glucose is picked up in your urine.

nehagarg · 19/02/2016 11:10

Yep Emma. I was given one because I am half Indian, half Iranian so genetically disposed to get diabetes.

At the appointment all the midwife did was check urine, BP, measure fundal height and listen to baby's heartbeat. If I didnt have a list of questions to ask, it would have been over in 15 minutes.

Congrats on feeling the baby. Its an amazing feeling, isnt it? (Until the movements start waking you up in the middle of the night, I am sure)

nehagarg · 19/02/2016 11:12

Thanks strawberry. I was a bit worried but the results are nowhere near worrisome so very relieved.

jbiscuits · 19/02/2016 11:29

I'm having the GTT in a few weeks because of a family history of diabetes. I had it with DS too (the test, not diabetes), and it came back fine so I'm not hugely worried.

Glad yours came back fine Nehagarg. Im more worried about passing out from the fasting than anything else!

Eastend2015 · 19/02/2016 11:38

Yup first movements that woke me up in the night last night- exciting that bubs is getting stronger but also not loving interrupted sleep- oh well, may as well get used to it?! I got quite a strong punch in the middle of my leaving drinks last night, maybe he/she was just getting bored!

Congrats on GTT Nehagarg and also congrats on movement Emma- DH only feels about 5% of the movement I do and has only felt that the last week or so. Chasing a moving baby round my bump has now become quite a fun morning/ evening ritual.

Homeboddy49 · 19/02/2016 14:02

Hello ladies

Never posted on this thread before but I've been reading since day1.

I didn't want to post until after my 20week scan because I'm ridiculously superstitious. Anyway, had my scan last week and everything is perfect. I was so nervous due to previous miscarriages but it seems it is all going along swimmingly. Discovered we are team pink which was a huge shock.

You are all super lovely and can't wait to join in the chat.

Currently feeling a bit low as my bump seems to be so big and already 3 colleagues have commented on it today (all men if that makes a difference). Im now 22weeks on Sunday. My due date is 26th June. And this is our first child.

Spock27 · 19/02/2016 14:43

Hi homeboddy, congratulations! Try not to pay attention to "helpful" comments by other people, they've no idea. Each person is different and babies are the same. I was getting worried that I was huge after a different midwife to my usual one took offence to my bump being big, but I spoke to my normal midwife on the phone and she said babies have growth spurts in the womb just like in real life, and they're all individuals with different growth rates.

Just smile and let it glide off you, or come up with a stock response like "well I am growing a human, what's your excuse for the big belly?" And laugh innocently.

LouLou030783 · 19/02/2016 16:22

Place marking can't believe we are on number 7 I just bought a crib for when baby comes.

I have my 22 week app on Monday and get my matb1 form need to have it in by 25 weeks scary to think need to decide already
