Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 45th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 44th grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 58th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Sky sweetie, how stressful! You poor thing. Try not to panic until you know there's something to panic about. At the moment it's all "ifs" and "potentially" so try to stay calm. It's really good news she was showing off on the monitor.

GD team really have been a bit crap to you though. Hope they get you sorted quickly. When is 37 weeks for you? Quite soon, surely?

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 14/02/2016 18:24

All of my care has been a bit crap, really. I feel hugely let down by my consultants and the midwives who were meant to be looking after me but at least I am on the radar now! Negative attention getter ha ha!

I am 35 weeks tomorrow so even "if" things turn out to be worst case scenario we still have pretty healthy odds of being ok in the end now that I am being assessed and treated etc.

Really want my fucking Valentines chocolate about now. DP making me steak and broccoli and cauliflower cheese for supper. Bless him.

Peenut · 14/02/2016 18:35

Oh dear Sky, hope you are ok and try to relax - at least you've now been seen and things will be properly checked for you. I think with pregnancy they take no chances, and that's good - must be very stressful though waiting to see what the verdict is. Hope you still get that sleep I you were going to have tomorrow Flowers

Chocolate to you too Feathered - illness on holibobs sucks specially the dreaded cystitis! It's just such a horrid feeling not at one with enjoying yourself. Can you plan a day trip somewhere to cheer yourself up? Don't worry about the antibiotics - two won't have done any harm I'm sure.

Good alcohol free beer tips ladies.

I'm 19 weeks today and still can't feel anything ... Well nothing definite. Come on baby! When I had that scan last time midwife did say placenta was anterior, and low. so defo not got the dread there is a problem 20 week scan next Monday ... Half way!!

pretzelpieces · 14/02/2016 20:33

Popping in to give Flowers to sky and feathered

country pack your bag!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 14/02/2016 20:41

Thanks pretz how's minipretz?

pretzelpieces · 14/02/2016 20:46

Well, we're having some problems with feeding as she has a tongue tie and we're waiting on the referral... I'm finding her hunger heartbreaking (and exhausting!). Sad Thank you for asking, hopefully things will be improving soon x

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 14/02/2016 21:01

Oh poor poppet and poor you! Sad hopefully it gets sorted soon. Flowers right back atcha.

lildottie · 14/02/2016 22:36

Oh sky how terrifying for you. Hope all goes well with growth scan and they can reassure you. Flowers

5hell · 15/02/2016 06:03

Brew and Flowers for sky and feathered - hope things are resolved for u both ASAP. Fundal height isn't v accurate I don't think, so hope it's a false alarm re growth.

How is it Monday again already? !

honeysucklejasmine · 15/02/2016 06:26

I hate it when they measure fundal height. Mostly because its absolutely pointless on fatties me, but also because they push v hard to find the pubic bone and that's really uncomfortable.

Health visitor coming today. DH tidied and cleaned yesterday so we're all good. Wink

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 15/02/2016 08:14

Ooooh HV honey you're so close! Really excited for you

fruitlovingmonkey · 15/02/2016 08:37

Flowers Feathered sorry your break didn't go well. Well done for double checking the ABs, I'm sure just two tablets won't do any harm. There will be other holidays, they might be a little bit different but lovely all the same.
Hope you get good news at the scan Sky. Fundal height seems like a massively inaccurate measurement. Hope you get to see the GD team too.
Enjoy your visit from the HV Honey, bet it will make it seem very real!

ThursdayLastWeek · 15/02/2016 08:39

Oh man, I just wrote and lost another long post Angry

ThursdayLastWeek · 15/02/2016 08:45

Right I'll try again.

Huzzah for HV visit honey ours was an unmitigated disaster from start to finish but luckily she's very nice. Enjoy looking through all the literature and the red book.

ThursdayLastWeek · 15/02/2016 08:47

Thinking of you today sky I hope you get a speedy resolution. Is fundal height where they measur your bumbo basically?

I agree with the others that that has always struck me as a weird way of checking, because everyone carries weight so differently. And some people have waaaaaaaaay more fluid in there.

Anyways, make sure you let us know what's going on.

ThursdayLastWeek · 15/02/2016 08:50

Hello everyone else! Anybody doing anything good today?

The only pain I had last night was DS, and even he wasn't too bad.

Having lots of people try and 'meet up for a catch up before baby comes' means that my calendar is filling up rapidly! I guess people think I'm going to drop off the face of the earth or summat!

FeatheredTail · 15/02/2016 10:03

Thanks for the sympathy viroids, much appreciated (and needed). Cystitis on the wane but coldy/fever still lingering so have taken the day off sick. Just checked my work emails (WHY WOULD I DO THAT??) and have come out in a cold sweat. Have now switched work phone on silent.

Sky you poor thing. What a horrible feeling, thinking you haven't been looked after properly. At least now you'll have all the attention - and won't be fobbed off. Both DH and I were born at 37 weeks - DH was induced because MiL's placenta had stopped functioning and it got picked up late. He was born healthy at 5lbs. I'm not sure of the meaning of all the measurements you mention (will google) but hope that's a tiny reassurance. Glad you're on mat leave and so can totally focus on your health and needs. Flowers

Pee I have an anterior placenta and only felt little flutters at around 20 weeks. S/he hasn't moved much today, but when s/he does I can feel it now!! (28 weeks)

Lil glad you had a lovely spa weekend. If it makes you feel any better, I had a pregnancy massage in Budapest and.....well.....it was quite nice but....a little bit "meh". They can't do your pressure points - including feet!!! - so you never get that real "AHHHHHHHH!!!" feeling of proper knot relief and tension relief. It's all a bit gentle! So you probaby didn't miss much. Wink

How come the HV visited you Honey? Is this something you organised yourself?

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I watched "Sam Fairers: the Baby Diaries" the other day. Blush I do love some quality TV. Did anyone else see it? Her boyfriend is a serious douche - telling the midwife HE wanted a home birth and Sam wouldn't want an epidural. Made me grateful for having clueless, easy going/mildly disinterested DH.

Hahaha at DS is my only pain Thurs!!

YogaPants · 15/02/2016 10:46

Feathered cystitis on holiday is something I dread. I hope your new antibiotics kick in soon and you are not in too much pain.

Sky your continuity of care sounds awful! I hope you see the right people today and have a plan put in place.

Pee another anterior placenta here. (They must not be THAT rare!) I was just short of 20 weeks when I felt kicks and they were definite kicks rather than movements or bubbles.

FeatheredTail · 15/02/2016 11:33

Yoga I usually always take antibiotics away with me. This was the one time I haven't in nearly 10 years and the only time I got it!

honeysucklejasmine · 15/02/2016 11:44

Thanks viroids! Will let you know how it goes.

Feathered I asked midwife about it at 37 weeks as wasn't sure if I should have seen them or not. She was v surprised I hadnt and told me to ring them. It prob varies trust to trust.

CarrotPuff · 15/02/2016 12:32

I don't think anterior placenta is that rare. I had it with DS and also didn't feel anything definite until 20 weeks.

I haven't seen my HV until DS was 2 weeks old. Definitely varies from trust to trust. Tbh I don't know what they are for other than development checks and weighing babies?

Hope all goes well today sky Thanks

Sorry you've got feeding troubles pretz, it's do worrying when they are so teeny. Hopefully all gets resolved soon Thanks

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 15/02/2016 13:33

Hi all! Just poking head on to say minisky is bang on average and estimated at 5lbs 12oz at 35 weeks. Liver tests came back normal. Saw the GD nurse got the talk and my blood sugar testing kit and a plan is in place. Unfortunately I am under the same condultant who discharged me at 14 weeks which threw my care into chaos in the first place but I only have 5 weeks to go in theory anyhow and I've gotten quite good at fending for myself.

Thanks so much for kind words and support. It was a scary 24 hours! I luffs you viroids Flowers

Peenut · 15/02/2016 14:17

Hoo-yay! That's good news Sky ... and relax (a bit).

Ah that's reassuring a few of you have had/or have the good frontwards placenta positioning!

I do keep having moments where I think I can feel a weird sensation but it's so faint if I focus on it I can't feel anything, if that makes sense? I look forward to a good old boot in the ribs :)

Sorry to hear about the TT Pretz hope you are getting sorted soon. Sympathies as it must be hard to watch little-Pretz struggling. My neice had it but is now doing brilliantly, after it was snipped.

All this blue sky lovely coldness has put me in a good mood! Almost got over my slow motion fall on the ice this morning – didn't hurt myself or anything, just slipped backwards but avoided landing smack on my ass. That said, I did have to squirm around on the pavement to find a non-icy patch to stand up again. Went home and drove to work instead. (After de-icing the car with the end of a tube of hand cream, took ages.)

TriJo · 15/02/2016 14:32

I'm seeing both my HV and midwife on Thursday, 2 hours apart. If it turns out to be dopeyhole again (the one who seemed totally incapable of communicating or sorting an appointment) I'm going to be highly unimpressed - I have questions this time that I want answers to.

honeysucklejasmine · 15/02/2016 15:03

HV was very nice. Just asked me some questions, told me about local groups and clinics and let me know when I'd see them next. All good. Smile

Sky GREAT NEWS! Well done MiniSky, growing well. Envy
