It's the calm before the storm (sort of) that is Fantastic February and the March Madness - we did a lot of shagging last summer! We need more JSers on this, our 44th thread!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 44th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 43rd grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 57th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

Morning. I would have slept through quite happily if it wasn't for my rotter of a son Angry.

Somehow I have to summon up the energy to take him to playgroup.
Dusting of frost here today which is about as wintery as it gets down here Smile

Hope everyone's ok.

I really really hope Gouda is ok.

Morning. I dreamed of malt loaf last night. You crazy lot!

Bum hole is better after a nice bath and a tub of sudocream. I must admit it's weird going 3-4 times a day, I used to be a 'once every 2 days or so' person!

Ahh poo talk.

5 of my nct group have now had their babies. I'm insanely jealous.

Also can we safely assume gouda has had her bubba? She was due to be induced Monday?

jellypi3 · 20/01/2016 09:03

I'm going for a dim sum today, should I indulge in prawns? I've been so good and had zero seafood so far.

Hobbit19 · 20/01/2016 09:03

Sorry for the lack of sleep all, naps all round for you chaps today.

Just popping on to say... I think Parkrun is coming to my town!! We currently have to drive for half an hour so that is great. (Mostly as we will get an extra half an hour in bed on a Saturday morning!) Meeting on Saturday to discuss the route, I'm going to pop along as a future buggy runner to represent the Mums and Dads. Major bonus is that there will be a flat (ish) running track which is unheard of here!

Peenut · 20/01/2016 09:11

I don't even like Soreen really but you've given me a mad craving for it's squishy, throat claggy sweetness!

Did have massive words with DH last night ... as expected I cried, it had been bubbling up all day. So the discussion ranged from how he is worried about the baby being OK, worried about whether he'll make a good day, worried that he 'doesn't feel ready'. I tried to tell him that actually everything he is worried about is normal and that actually he's stopping himself enjoying the bloody enormous positive aspects of what's happening. Oh and hello! I am you wife who is currently growing your baby. YOU ARE STRESSING ME OUT!

I hope I've given him something to think about and I did for a while feel better after the chat and he was more loving/sorry etc, however this morning I am fucked off that it's me looking after him, as usual.

Me and DH deal with worry very differently. I'd much rather tell myself to get a grip and carry on as normal -I find doing that often helps ease the worry/make you realise there isn't actually that much to stress about.

DH cannot get himself out of negative thought situations and has no idea moody. It's massively frustrating.

One thought ... he's being ridiculous and selfish I know and I can't be arsed pandering to him but this is just going to end in arguments. Do you think I should ask one of his mates, I have a sensible one who has kids in mind, to speak to him about precisely why he is so stressed out and to give him a bit of advice? I think I can trust said friend not to say I asked him to have words.

Or should I just tell him to talk to this mate about it –ask for advice himself? I think he is seeing him on Friday.

Jelly Glad your bum hole is feeling better –I did two scary giant poos yesterday – what's that all about! I couldn't believe they had been lurking inside me, or where they had been lurking! ARGH! #PooWatch.

Hope Gouda is OK too!!

Sorry for all those awake at stupid-o-clock.

FeatheredTail · 20/01/2016 09:44

Good for you Pee though I'm not suprised you still feel frustrated being the one doing the looking after/coaxing/caring. I'd tell DH to talk to his friend about it. Make it abundantly clear that you feel unsupported and you're not willing to carry the load of his worries as well as your own whilst he's offering no emotional support.

Jelly why wouldn't you eat seafood? Yes indulge in prawns an enjoy your dim sum. Yum. There's enough on the actual "not advised" list to start with, don't add more! The only seafood I've avoided so far are the oysters at Christmas. I was close to tears. I would have killed for one. But they are the one thing I wouldn't risk getting food poisoning from whilst preggo.

Glad little carrot might be moving Carrot! Get rolling about on that ball!

I had a really scary meeting yesterday with the CEO, president, Vice President and a load of other senior scaries yesterday and it went really well!!! I got a huge amount of money approved into my budget and can now offer loads of awesome scholarships for one of my projects!

Off to Nottingham this afternoon to speak at a law careers fair. Quite looking forward to it. Have to stay overnight, but quite looking forward to room service in bed. #winning

jellypi3 · 20/01/2016 10:20

have fun at the fair feathered!

my DP is a bit militant about the NHS guidelines, and it says to avoid seafood unless you know it's cooked 100%, and his argument is in a resturant you can never know that. But I'm 39 weeks tomorrow, fuck it!

pee, you have my sympathies!

honeysucklejasmine · 20/01/2016 10:25

You can tell with prawns though, they change colour! As long as they aren't grey, you're good. What he doesn't know won't hurt him

Feathered congratulations! Have a lovely day Oop North.

What shall I cook for in laws on Sunday? They are very much meat and veg people, with the odd weird side thrown in. (Like honeyed beans, or dauphinouise (??) potatoes that don't really fit with the meat. I am not eating chicken right now. Could do pork roast I guess? Also BIL, SIL & DN are coming so would be nice if DN could nibble on veg (7 months old).

jellypi3 · 20/01/2016 10:43

Roast is always a good option, if i'm trying to impress I crack out the roast lamb, always goes down a treat!

5hell · 20/01/2016 10:56

go feathered! and enjoy that big clean hotel bed & room service jealous!

pee I'd give dh a day or so to digest your chat and then suggest he chats with a wise/experienced friend.

honey how about a nice stew? seems appropriate in this weather, and a bit less work once it's in the oven

nfmp(oo)...did impressive phantom poo yesterday, it was v satisfying and I'm sure it was massive, but there was NOTHING in the loo Grin

ThursdayLastWeek · 20/01/2016 11:02

jelly your DP is an idiot about seafood! Eat the bloody prawns it's your body!

OP posts:
fruitlovingmonkey · 20/01/2016 11:14

Hmmm now I want Soreen... not with cheese though fucking weird
Glad your bum is better Jelly! There's nothing good about avoiding seafood, as long as it is cooked it is really healthy. Go mad on the prawn dim sum to make up for all this lost time.
I hear you on the oysters Feathered, my post- birth, post- breastfeeding plan is about 4 dozen of the little fuckers, washed down with a magnum of champagne! Well done for your work win!

Yay for parkrun Pud and also Star for even thinking about exercise so soon.

Well done for talking to him Pee. He definitely needs to offload his worries on someone else, you shouldn't have to deal with them all the time. Point him in the direction of his sensible friend and tell him you can't handle it by yourself.

ThursdayLastWeek · 20/01/2016 11:35

I'm glad you talked to him pee. I think I'd tell him to talk to his mate about it because it's stressing you out. Another outlet and another point if view might help him get some perspective.

Huzzah for parkrun pud! We have a couple of buggy runners at Lanhydrock mentalists We are NOT a flat or clean course, they're amazing.

Sorry jelly I didn't mean to sound harsh earlier. Forgive me? eat the prawns

honey the beef bourg DH cooked last night was amazing and really easy just served with some mash and brocolli. One pot things are quite good when you're hosting - unless you need to keep away from the ILs of course Wink

Enjoy your hotel feathered, you're such a busy woman!

kate I have a ginger toddler so I'll be keeping my gx for you. I bloody love it.

5hell the idea of a phantom poo scares me rather.

OP posts:
pretzelpieces · 20/01/2016 11:38

Good to see #poowatch is back with a vengeance

pee I think it sounds like a great idea to suggest he gets support from a friend. It's fine that he is affected differently by anxiety than you and I sympathise, but it's not fine that he burdens you with it. Others need to support him so that he can support you.

Still hoping all is good with gouda and that she's just super busy!

I slept rubbishly as well last night. Birth anxiety and nightmares. Not cool, brain. I'm 38 weeks today and may have the option of a sweep at midwife appointment this afternoon. Sounds painful and potentially pointless but on the other hand I'm tempted to try anything to try to dodge induction.

honeysucklejasmine · 20/01/2016 11:56

Thursday don't suppose you can recommend recipe?

KeepTheHope · 20/01/2016 12:00

Pee I'm glad you spoke to him about it, hopefully he will take some time to think and digest. I think suggesting a chat with sensible friend sounds like a great idea.

Rubbish day at work already. A teacher called in sick almost three hours after the deadline to do so then called me instead of the manager. WTF do they want me to do?? Oh yeah, once the manager calls me any time now I'll have to rearrange all her bloody lessons. Really not in the mood for this today at all. I am not anxious about scan tomorrow and taking it out on her at all.

ThursdayLastWeek · 20/01/2016 12:37

I dint know which one he used specifically, but know it was on the BBC good food website. Only needs a bit of cheapish stewing steak, red wine, veg and lardons basically.
We're about to have the leftovers for lunch Smile

OP posts:
honeysucklejasmine · 20/01/2016 13:02

Sounds yum! Thanks for the inspiration!

Keep what a massive ballache! We always had to provide our own cover work when off sick which yes, is a fucking pain, but generally very helpful! On a rare occasion someone would say "oh, don't worry, I am doing the same with my classes, I'll copy my plan for supply teacher" which was always nice. But late notice is absolutely NOT ON. Angry

ThursdayLastWeek · 20/01/2016 13:05

Actually honey he just said the one he used last night was a bit of a faff so he just used it as a guide for amounts and ingredients Smile

OP posts:
KeepTheHope · 20/01/2016 13:19

Ghat sounds like a good system to me honey! It's just annoying because it can sometimes become a bit shoot the messenger. I hate being the messenger. Anyway, I've managed to sort all but two lessons so the person taking over at 2 can finish dealing with those! Rant over.

Oh Thursday that sounds lovely! Trying and failing to think of something that nice to have for lunch now.

ThursdayLastWeek · 20/01/2016 13:30

It was delicious keep! I added chips and cauliflower for different types of goodness Grin

We're having chicken tikka for the, the first time IVe fancied anything more flavoursome than bog standard meat and veg since I got upduffed.
And we're eating up the old freezer food to make way for the 'batch' cooking I'm going to do in readiness for this baby.

OP posts:
SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 20/01/2016 14:08

Tried soreen with mature cheddar. Absolutely delicious. DP reckons that comes from this tradional Jamaican thing Easter Bun and Cheese which also sounds yummy.

pretz sorry your brain is being naughty. Your baby will be here soon. Hang in there. We are all here for you.

pee if I were you I'd have a word with sensible mate and have him talk to DP. He needs a reality check asap.

pud can't believe you are considering parkrun so soon! You're mental but awesome Grin

jelly glad the ring is no longer on fire. Eat the prawns! Your DH would hate me. I completely ignore the NHS guidelines and use the Canadian ones which are much more humane liberal and backed up with reports and abstracts. I also drink a small glass of wine once in a blue moon if I feel like it! I am pretty religious about listeria risks though. That is one that you really don't want to mess with...

SecondCupOfTea · 20/01/2016 14:27

Honey I make a bastardisation variation of this one albeit without the brandy, and using whatever red wine we have. The pancetta is a must IMHO, as is the celery...means you don't need any stock cubes. You absolutely have to have whole shallots (or baby onions) in it as well, although last time I had to peel them in my swimming goggles and noseclip to stop my eyes from streaming. Oh, and get a decent bit of stewing steak/beef as it makes all the difference.

5hell better a phantom poo than one you have to break up with the loo brush Wink

Jelly eat prawns. I do. In fact had loads last night in our fish pie. T'were yummy.

SecondCupOfTea · 20/01/2016 14:29

Oh, the other good thing about making beef bourguignon, is that you can portion up and leftovers and you've started your freezer stash Wink

Hobbit19 · 20/01/2016 14:44

Don't worry, I won't be running the parkrun for a little while yet! Last week if I walked more than half a mile I couldn't stand up when I got home due to fanjo/bum pain. That's much better this week and we are attempting a 2 mile walk today, woo! Aiming to start running after 6 week tear check and seeing the physio. Don't want to break myself. Also, I had three biscuits and a creme egg for breakfast so I need to do some exercise so that I can maintain this excellent diet ha ha!!

BB sounds delicious! Yes to the shallots but peeling them is so annoying!!
