Well I can't believe I am doing this but I am petrified the old thread is about to get filled up and we are going to loose people. ...

Happy New Thread (fingers buffering crossed this works AND I can manage to post the link Confused )

Iamdivergant how old is your dd2? Mine will be 11 next year and dd1 will be 13, dd2 has a big bedroom so we are planning on putting up a divider so they have their own space. Think it will work out ok hopefully. If I could afford it if covert the loft and put dd1 up there but not sure funds will stretch to that yet.

As for exercise I haven't done any since about 6 week pg but plan to try and get back into it this week.

laughingGnomette · 13/12/2015 15:10

I'm doing a 60 minute swim each week and chase around my energetic three year old :)

bikingintherain · 13/12/2015 15:14

I had pulled back on exercise as I found myself constantly retching as I did it. Now I'm back to biking around the city most days but nothing beyond that really.

iamdivergent · 13/12/2015 15:37

Dd1 is 11, dd2 is 7.

jbiscuits · 13/12/2015 16:03

Wow you guys have been chatty today!

We're also undecided about finding out whether it's a boy or girl. I keep thinking it would be useful to know second time round (DS was a surprise), but I'm just so paranoid that they'll get it wrong! Not that I mind either way, but I think it would be hard to get my head around after imagining a little boy/girl for 20 weeks.

Potkettleblack2 · 13/12/2015 16:38

I'm usually quite active but have really not been up to doing much lately. I'm going to get back into it this week and plan on going for a jog (or two) and going swimming. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good pregnancy-suitable fitness DVD? I don't want anything too easy and ideally would involve some cardio? Think 30 day shred for a woman with a bump!
Also-I think I'm being too cautious but have any of you dyed your hair while pregnant? I didn't dye my hair at all when pregnant last time. I have highlights now but think I want to go back to my natural colour and that would involve an all-over colour. Have any of you done this?

BiffleRoo · 13/12/2015 16:55

Place marking. So behind on everything as been manic here. 14+2 and still throwing up, no date yet for 20 week scan but will definitely be finding out gender as DH is impatient.

PrincessPunzie · 13/12/2015 17:09

I only have highlights Potkettle but my hairdresser was bemoaning pregnant women who won't dye their hair when I saw her last weekend, as apparently there's literally no way it can harm your baby however much you go for it.

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/12/2015 17:30

We are very much team yellow, though I sense baby is a boy and have done since week 10. Has anybody else felt like that? We've alternated calling baby he or she each week since we found out, baby is she this week.

nehagarg · 13/12/2015 18:22

potkettle - I have been using this one. Works well for me and I am a regular gym goer. Had to cancel membership when we moved office but 45 min of this every morning keeps me going. (The DVD looks like it was shot with a home camera but that doesnt bother me.)

Torfhinn · 13/12/2015 18:30

I was going to suggest erin o'brien as well nehagarg, i tried it in my last pregnancy but was so unfit by the time i started and had a big bump early that i found it a bit difficult, would be good for fit people starting now.

In last pregnancy, i had a dream that it was a girl, turned out to be a boy, so i won't trust my 'instincts' this time!

LouLou030783 · 13/12/2015 18:40

Lol I was adamant dd was a boy lol and I'm the same with this one X

dollydaydream84 · 13/12/2015 19:20

Hello just bookmarking after a busy weekend.

Anyone on here do slimming world? I have been trying pre-pregnancy (though have a restricted diet anyway), put so much weight on in the first trimester thanks to unhealthy cravings and really don't want the 4st gain (2.5 was baby) I had last time. I know you can do it whilst pregnant with a few tweaks but wondered if anyone had/is doing it? I don't want to try to lose weight just try not to gain more than a stone in total, that would be great.

Potkettleblack2 · 13/12/2015 20:50

Thanks for the hair and fitness advice-I'll definitely going to get that DVD

Potkettleblack2 · 13/12/2015 20:50

*I'm

BabySocks · 13/12/2015 21:09

Wow loads of posters, yippee you found us :) I was worried I was stepping on someone's toes starting the thread but seems ok , got the title changed too Hmm

Seems to be about a 50 / 50 spilt about finding it the gender, I am sure it is exciting however you do it! Totally understand why people do it for practical reasons too.

dolly I am theoretically doing slimming world although I haven't been anywhere near plan this weekend Blush I reached target pretty much when I found out I was pregnant and don't want to have to lose 2+ stone again (although I gained lots breastfeeding, to much liberty to eat cake) I really think it is just a healthy way to eat (although I avoid sweeteners) but I am not worrying about some extra hex a and b 's. Am also finding going to group very positive and supportive!

Sorry I haven't managed more hellos, my brain had gone dead catching up Xmas Shock

So telling mum the good news didn't go quite as expected. She had a massive go at me for keeping it from her till the 12 week scan and lying to her when she asked if I was pregnant. She really blew her top calling me selfish and a liar and how could I possibly do this to her. DH is furious and I'm absolutely gutted. Sorry for the rant. Just needed to write it down.

amysmummy12345 · 13/12/2015 22:37

Oh no Emma!! That's awful! It should have been such a happy time 😞 will she calm down/apologise? I hope she sees that she's over reacted xxx

mrsmugoo · 13/12/2015 22:42

Oh god Emma that's not nice :( Although I know my mum would probably be like that so even though I would have liked to sit on the news til 12 weeks I compromised by not telling her til my 7 week scan.
Thanks

GuessHowMuchILoveGin · 13/12/2015 22:47

Sorry sharing the news wasn't how you'd imagined. She's being ridiculous and will get over it. It's your perogative to tell people (whoever they are) at a time that feels right for you. No one has a 'right to know'. I hope she apologises.

Team Yellow here.

Bought myself some jeans from H&M maternity today - so comfy. Mine are all a bit tight now, and like others I am starting to look a bit pregnant. 14 weeks tomorrow (and it's my birthday tomorrow too Cake).

Eastend2015 · 13/12/2015 23:28

Emma I'm so sorry about your mum's reaction. I was really nervous about telling mine for the same reason. She seemed OK about that thank goodness and was more worried about whether she was the first to know- which she wasn't but we told her she was to try and side step some family drama. She even rang my big bro to check up on us and he nearly rumbled us. Lol!!

Eastend2015 · 13/12/2015 23:33

P.s Gin- been in maternity jeans for a couple of weeks. They are the best! One of my friends (with one DS) told me shouldn't be in them yet?! This is hard enough without being uncomfortable as well. I think I might break out the maternity work wear next week.

LaPharisienne · 14/12/2015 00:37

On the strange reactions, I've just posted about reactions I've had which have been quite often "was it planned?"

I see JellyBelly also had the same thing... We're not married either so it's nice to know we're not the only ones getting this! I laughed at first, but when friends started asking the same question I was really hurt ... Full post here on the "strange reactions to pregnancy" thread!

Lovelybeano · 14/12/2015 06:36

Aww emma how disappointing for you, I'm sure your mum will calm down and apologise, in her defence she may feel guilty for not knowing and not being there for you in the most difficult stage, the easiest reaction to feeling guilty is lashing out, I hope everything settles down for you both over the next day or so, you're going to need your mum more than you know over the next few months, years and beyond - you'll have a new experience that she's already been through and hopefully it'll bring you closer together. Maybe buy her something grandma related, apologise explaining to her you didn't realise not knowing would hurt her feelings so much and that you did it to prevent any heartache in case anything bad happened?

Belleboo23 · 14/12/2015 07:13

Emma I hope she comes around quickly which I'm sure she will. I'm dreading our reveal for similar reasons especially with my mum but I have done it to save people worrying like we have been!!

Well it's finally scan day for me, very nervous and hardly slept Confused
