Happy New Thread (fingers buffering crossed this works AND I can manage to post the link Confused )

I'm excited to be able to refer to a he or a she. As much as I loved the anticipation last time calling my bump "it" always felt weird.

Belleboo23 · 13/12/2015 09:09

Place marking, we will be finding out same as with the other two. We are both too impatient!!

Snowflake16 · 13/12/2015 09:13

I'm very on the fence when it comes to finding out the sex of the baby, I do want to know so I can prepare and start calling baby him or her, but I really want a surprise at the birth.
If only there were a way to know then have your memory wiped just before the birth. I really want DH to step up and be a man and make the decision for me but he is on the fence also.

Rose2806 · 13/12/2015 09:27

I'm 13 weeks today too divergent!

We are going to find out the sex, I think because we can we won't be able to stop ourselves lol. Planning to keep it to ourselves for a while though so we can enjoy it together, is anyone else doing that? It's going to drive our friends and family crazy though!

Torfhinn · 13/12/2015 09:56

We found out with our first. .. there wasn't even a debate. I thought we'd find out for this one too but now we've decided on a surprise! I think it's because i don't want a third so this is our only chance for a surprise at birth. I'm really excited about not knowing now!

I'm also not planning on buying anything except a crib, newborn nappies and a special going home outfit so a girl may find herself in some blue outfits for a while Smile

laughingGnomette · 13/12/2015 09:57

I was adamant that we were going to be team yellow this time around but I'm starting to lean towards finding out! Argh!

Did anyone else not get moved forward despite measuring larger than their dates? I was 12 weeks exactly at my scan and it measured me at 12+5 but the sonographer said she wouldn't change my due date unless it was 7 days or more. I'm quite happy with this because its likely that I'll have a ELCS at 39 weeks so I want the baby to cook for as long as possible. On the other hand I faced a whole heap of tests and scans last time because DS was measuring large and I really don't want that again for no reason. Hmmm.

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 13/12/2015 10:12

Marking place. Thanks for the new thread.
Re finding out the gender DH and I are in two minds, we really want to know but then are afraid of regretting finding out. It's our first.

earlgreydrinker · 13/12/2015 10:13

I'm pretty sure I felt the baby yesterday. I was nearer 18 weeks I think last time. 14 weeks and definitely feeling sooooo much better. I actually have energy again!

20week scan on the 28th Jan and we will be finding out. Just easier - we have lots of newborn unisex stuff but it would be good to clear out anything we won't need if we can! We found out last time but actually kept it a secret as DPs didn't want to know!

MollieRos · 13/12/2015 10:16

I'm pretty sure we'll find out if we can- I think it will help me and DH to visualise things a bit more easily, and hopefully start to get our heads round the reality a bit more!

Betty79 · 13/12/2015 10:16

We are finding out on 4th jan, very excited! I just like to be prepared however I won't be going mad buying loads of blue or pink stuff either. We won't be doing a nursery either as we will have to have a move round when baby needs its own rooms as currently both dd's have their own rooms and are going to need to share! That's a bit of a prickly subject with dd1 at the moment who is 12!Confused

mrsmugoo · 13/12/2015 10:22

My DS never did get a Nursey - our spare room is packed with stuff that has no other home (e.g my DH's decks & vinyl collection) so we took out a desk and shoehorned a cotbed in there. Number 2 will need to share with him when it's ready to leave our room as we only have 2 bedrooms so I'm planning on just upgrading DS into the double bed that's in there and sticking baby in the big cot. We have a smaller cot that fits in the corner of our room that will last until then.

Sounds easy in theory...

Hi ladies its been a few weeks even though i missed most of thread #4 I skimmed that last few days - so nice to read everyones good news and lovely scan pics Flowers

16 weeks in 2 days and feel like last mont has just flow but - enjoying 2nd trimester as 1st was filled with anxiety, worry and sickness. its good to fee normal. Im envious of those who can already feel flutters Blush cant wait to feel my little person Smile

HarleyQuinn90 · 13/12/2015 10:35

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted in ages been a stressful few weeks feeling better now though Grin I had my 12 week scan on Thursday and EDD is now 18th June which is DS2s birthday! So I'm 13+1 today.
I will attach my scan picture but when I announced it on Facebook someone asked if I'm having twins as there's a baby shape in the placenta, it's really strange it's obviously not another baby but I'm not sure what it could be.
I'm finding out when I hit 16 weeks I'm so impatient! With 2 and 3 I had a strong feeling what I was having and I was right, with this one I'm not so sure but leading more towards a boy Smile
My nausea has subsided abit but it's still there had it all day yesterday Angry got a feeling I will have it all the way through again.

HarleyQuinn90 · 13/12/2015 10:35

Sorry the picture isn't clear either but it was a rubbish scan pic baby was being awkward Hmm

nehagarg · 13/12/2015 10:39

laughing - Me. I measured 3 days ahead but the sonographer didnt move me.

nehagarg · 13/12/2015 10:45

Congratulations Harley. Glad to hear that all is well. Smile

iamdivergent · 13/12/2015 11:52

betty our dds share currently but dd1 (11) will be getting her own room after Christmas and DD2 will share with the baby when it comes to it. We felt that it was more important for dd1 to have her own space going into secondary school.

We are finding out the sex on 2nd Feb. It's helpful to know.

mrsmugoo · 13/12/2015 11:59

Divergent - I'm the eldest of 3 (me plus one brother one sister). I shared with my baby sister from where she was 2 and I was 8 until I left home at 18.

Eastend2015 · 13/12/2015 12:00

What are you ladies doing about exercise? I've given myself an easy time over the last few weeks but now I am beginning to get my energy back and the sickness is a lot better I feel like I should be doing more. I made it back to my dance cardio class this morning and it was tough, more because of the 6 week break and rhinositis than min bump though and I do feel better for it!

PrincessPunzie · 13/12/2015 12:10

Eastend I'm still doing my pre-pregnancy exercise schedule with the exception of my express abs class - some of the deep lower ab work was becoming a struggle so I've ditched it in favour of an extra Pilates session a week. I've cut my runs back from 8-10 miles to just six and am a tad more sedate in my spin classes, but other than that I'm hoping to carry on as normal for as long as possible. Exercise is keeping me sane and giving me hope that I won't have to spend years clawing back my figure once baby is born!

Definitely finding out the sex here. I know lots of people like the surprise element but that's not for me at all, I'm desperate to know! Apart from anything else, we can't agree on any boy names, so if it's a boy (and I reckon it is) DH will have to try harder with my suggestions and stop trolling me with names like Magnus and Valentine!!

mrsmugoo · 13/12/2015 12:12

I gave up my gym membership when I was pregnant first time. I did used to do exercise videos at home (30 day shred etc) but now traipsing up the hills where I live with a buggy keeps me fit enough.

MollieRos · 13/12/2015 12:25

Oh, I was just going to ask about exercise! I haven't managed anything at all for a while as I've just been feeling too ill. But I'm optimistic I'll start feeling better soon. I have set my sights very low, so just planning on getting back into evening walks after work, and using the exercise bike at home. I was also planning on getting a pilates DVD as we just can't afford actual classes... then I realised we don't actually own a DVD player! Anyone that's done pilates before, do you reckon I could get enough info from a book? I've never done pilates before. Or are there other good sources of pilates videos (youtube?) that people know of? Classes are about £9 a session round here, which is just not possible!

PrincessPunzie · 13/12/2015 12:39

Mollie I would say a huge no to Pilates from a book, especially if you've not done it before and considering you're pregnant - if you get the moves just a little bit wrong you could injure yourself. Bits of the Darcey Bussell Pilates workout are available on YouTube - enough to do a warm-up plus a good 25 minutes or so (I know this because I've loaned out my own copy) - it's fairly low-level (although not pregnancy-specific) and should be okay for a beginner.

Lovelybeano · 13/12/2015 13:11

I've struggled with body balance, it was making me feel really dizzy, I was doing body balance which is a mixture of Thai chi, Pilates & yoga but my midwife said no abdominal exercises so I'll have to tweak some of the exercises once I've told the instructor, I'm going to dig out my Zumba DVDs and I've got a pregnancy Pilates DVD that I used last time, that'll hopefully keep me as fit as possible over the next few months Smile

Torfhinn · 13/12/2015 13:21

mollie, caroline sandry does some good prenatal pilates dvds, i think you can find some of her stuff on you tube, worth a look.

I'm giving up my gym membership because I'm just too tired in the evenings to go out again. Planning to do some at home pilates/gentle workouts, when i can get my arse in gear!
