Hi Girls,

Back from Geordieland!

Glad to hear you're having a fab time with your DH LG&T. Assume the ball was fabulous too and the champers flowed.

MKG - Got the nose bleeds too, but only intermitently. Thank Goodness.

Bethnalhembub - my 20wk scan is on the 16th too. Is your's at the Royal too?? Mine is 9am.

Got my mw appt today. Hoping she listens to heartbeat. Am getting anxious as little weight gain and it's too early for me to feel movement as this is my first, so convinced all is not well - pure pg-panic mode.

Pebble - sorry your DH is being a bit of a tw*t. Sounds like he needs to grow up a bit and make some grown up choices. He needs to put you and the kids first and give his mum a good talking too. She's only bluffing with the ultimatum. If he tells her how it's going to be she won't risk loosing him. MIL's - ARRRGGGHHH

cant decide if id like a boy or a girl i know its already decided for me but weve got no girls in our family over here, all my nieces live abroad so i think it would be nice to buy a few frilly things instead of combats and trucks lol but hopefull tues will tell all x

lucyw19 · 16/12/2006 11:22

did u find out your other kids?

I would like a girl, but i think thats cos all my cousins are boys and it'll be nice to dress baby up and i have a girls name lol.

but of course ill be happy what ever!

katybumps · 16/12/2006 11:32

i found out with both .got told ds1 was a girl and he came out with a willy!!!!! and i saw ds2's swinging on the screen so there never 100% anyway .

part of me wants a surprise this time but its dh's 1st baby so he wants to know asap. everyone seems to think itl be a girl this time onlky because ive had two boys though {fsmile}.
what names have you chosen?{im dead nosey arent i

lucyw19 · 16/12/2006 11:42

no ur not its nice someone being interested!!!

Well i liked alexa, and now i like lexie so when if i have her (if) christened, ill have it alexandra =]

But i do like harry for a boy!

How about you?

katybumps · 16/12/2006 11:52

Really hard to choose as i work in a 110 place nursery so everything dh suggest theres already 2 or 3 in work although we havent got a lexie or harry ! great names i like addison for a girl and dh likes mani for a boy {like him of stone roses fame} also like ran and beau but not to keen on the resemblance to rambo lol

lucyw19 · 16/12/2006 12:04

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 16/12/2006 13:23

Morning and welcome Lucy. I just woke up and am having breakfast, so I don't have anything to report yet.

lildrummerKel · 16/12/2006 13:59

Morning all (oops afternoon) and welcome Lucy. This thread is crazy but you'll love it . It's my second and I'm def finding out if it's boy or girl. I've no patience. And I want to get rid of the boy clothes - amazing how many you acquire without even trying.

So who else is getting nervous about The Final tonight? (for those who aren't complete losers such as myself, that would be the X-factor final). I'm for Leona all the way, personally!!

I'm only 16 weeks (due 3 June but c-sect end of May) so no real kicks yet. Thought I had a few but am sure it was just the chocolate santas I've been mainlining

TwinkleTwinkleLupinsXmasLights · 16/12/2006 15:30

Hi

I will be glued to the box for the final lol, i reckon leona as well, i was quite keen on ben for a while, but not sure if thats cos i had one of "those" dreams about him lol

LilDrummer how come you are having section, just being nosey, tell me to go away if its private, only asking as im likely to have one as well altho not defiante,

Lisa xx

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 16/12/2006 15:45

I'm glad we don't have Xfactor here, and I hate American Idol. It is the stupidest show, because the good people never win. Except for Kelly Clarkson. I never watch until the final round because I just want to see who the winner is.

katybumps · 16/12/2006 16:47

hello all back from my shopping trip to a gas leak thought something must be wrong as we have a prepayment meter and i topped it up on thurs with 15 quid and had to put emergency on before!!!luckily the box is outside so we wont blow up but cant have fires on and im freezing . just waiting for engineer

katybumps · 16/12/2006 16:54

wahay engineers here good old british gas

lildrummerKel · 16/12/2006 17:12

MKG I know what you mean - usually I can't stand shows like Xfactor but somehow I've become addicted. Like Harry Potter. And DaVinci code. I tried for as long as possible to avoid being converted, but....guess I'm a sucker after all

TwinkleLupin, no fear in asking. I hide nothing! My decision was based on my DS's problems straight after birth, and my own extreme discomfort and disappointment with how it all went during & after (recovery-wise). I could go on and on, but basically my son stopped breathing and needed respirator, feeding tubes, the whole Special Care deal for a week. No idea why, I was super fit, normal pregnancy, no problems with the baby during labour... but I thought my baby had died. Really. Then my recovery has been less than great. My contractions were unbearable from the first hour, I didn't dilate, I had every drug (when I'd originally hoped/prepared for a water birth). I want things to be predictable this time, as much as they can be. There is no longer any urge for me to 'try to have it naturally the way God intended.' In fact, knowing that some women have lovely, short, pain-free births simply by means of gentle self-hypnosis makes me go into paroxysms of disappointment and anger. Not the feelings I want to be having, so I'm just doing it differently this time.

Phew. Go Leona!!!!

katybumps · 16/12/2006 17:17

got a major leak on fire in bedroom and the thing doesnt even work ! thatl be why then have top get council to sort it out , god i hate living in this flat Xmas Angry

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 16/12/2006 17:28

OH Kel,

Sounds very traumatic. I think about the delivery of this baby a lot. I worry that it won't be as "easy" as ds. Your experience is my biggest fear, it just reminds me that no matter what we do there is no preparation for the actual birthing. We get what we get.

TwinkleTwinkleLupinsXmasLights · 16/12/2006 18:13

Lildrummer I know excactly where you are coming from, I was offered a normal birth with dd as it was emergancy situation and they couldnt find my notes (which would have told them my consultant had said I would need section), anyway due to already having lost ds, and my friend losing dd during labour, I went for the section and tbh would be quite happy to have another one, altho recovery was a bit long winded and I am bit concerned how i will cope with two to look after, I was in hospital 10 days with dd as she was only 4lb 15 at birth

Katybumps what a nightmare, hope council sorts it quickly for you xx

partridgeannemepeartree · 16/12/2006 18:17

I think that it is impossible to know how anyone else feels because we all have diff pain thresholds etc. I really want another natural birth (DS was born with help of birthing pool and gas and air...oh and a syntocin drip to get him going at the end - tried tens but it made me feel sick (like travel sickness)) but consultant has said that I might have to have an elective if it is bigger than DS ~(who was 9lb5) to avoid probs. I am scared about that because I am really scared of operations. Having said that I was really scared after my mcs because I had to have d and c with all 3 of them and it was a general anaesthetic each time and that was not so bad (I know that a cs is different but it was the anaesthetic I was scared of) so I guess you just go with what happens.

I think I've decided not to find out flavour this time. Really didnt want to with DS 1 and am still undecided now but think I will wait for the surprise - most of my stuff for v little baby is white anyway.

Anyway - welcome Lucy. It is v nice to have other people to question and we answer ALL questions...maybe that is why I keep having trouble getting onto this at work - I think that our firewall blocks it out when words like poop come up.... speaking of which I have had to take the curtain in the loo down due to suspicious brown marks that are due to DS1 so sympathies MKG (I think it was you!)

Now I'm here I won't shut up...my DH is v good at sharing but I find it weird at work. We work in the same school (both teachers) and I find that if I take time off then I feel that people are thinking bl**Dy working mums always being off but if he takes time off then people think he is being angelic new man - yet we both earn the same amountHUMPH - admittedly this could just be my paranoia.

Will stop now - noone will have bothered to read this far because I am going on so much...ooooo..,just felt LO - think s/he wants to say hello
