Daisypops - you are gonna be a busy lady when bub comes! In some ways I suppose it is easier that we don't have to worry about DH trying to find another job/house/city when Bubba is only a few months old but I keep panicking about him not passing a second time.

God, I need to stop being so pathetic. Think lack of sleep is getting to me, I just go over and over things in my mind, not necessarily worrying just can't stop thinking, IYKWIM.

34 weeks today - hopefully not long to go...

Brie on Tuc crackers....just another one to add to the FOOD pot!

elliepmummy · 10/12/2006 07:21

sympathies on the speeding ticket daisy and wilko we'll all have our fingers cossed for dh in march!

DH was on best behaviour yesterday took dd out in morning came back with flowers (from dd apparently not him because that would be admiting he was wrong!) came to the birthday party and ran around with her and I did tea, bath and bedtime cause I wanted to not because I had too. DD stayed in her own bed from 6.30pm to 6.15am yipee and dh bought her downstairs so I have just got up (was awake when she woke up as shes so loud sounds has a microphone stuck in her throat 99% of the time but took advantage of just laying in bed)

Lizzz · 10/12/2006 10:14

Morning, big sympathies EPM. My dp has spent the last 2 weekends nursing dreadful hangovers. I'm really fed up with him. There is loads we need to sort out at weekends at the moment and he will spend it slumped in front of the TV groaning about his head. Plus how can he justify £££ spent on beer, which he then throws up when I dont even have a coat that does up over my bump. Am seriously not happy. I've made him swear that he will stop doing this soon, as I'm terrified he will be plastered when my labour starts. (with christmas and NYE coming up, I think its probably v.likely)
We have a 36 wk scan on monday morning, first thing to check for placenta pravia. From what I understand, if its low than you have an elective c-section scheduled. And thats all right? Am I missing something? Is there something else i should be worrying about?
Nice start to my maternity leave though!

OonaghBhuna · 10/12/2006 11:21

My sympathies go out to all those people having to nurse their DH or DP. My DH has the flu although he was really sick and I did feel sorry for him he now has the Male flu, he is grumpy and snappy which is extremely irritating.
I am obsessed with cleaning the cubhoard undr the stairs was cleaned this morning for the first time ever We now have a working hob in the kitchen for the first time in 17 weeks which is amazing after using our camping gas stove for so long. Fingers crossed the kitchen will be finished by Friday HOORAY 1.5 weeks before I might be getting a c/s as the provisional date is now booked for the 27th DEC OMG!!!

OonaghBhuna · 10/12/2006 11:24

Lizz the placenta can still move I ahve heard people say that it can move even in the remaining weeks but I suppose it depends on your medical history in this pg etc.Mine has moved but for other medical reasons it looks like another c/s I believe a planned one is much better than an emergency which was my last experience.

theUrbanDryadWithSparklyWings · 10/12/2006 14:37

afternoon all! my dh doesn't really drink so not a problem with him getting pissed and not driving to the hospital. also another + side to having a planned home birth! although, i have to say i would NOT be impressed if he was drunk for the birth of his first child!

as for food, i have to say that i have been having brie, camembert, pate...all the things you're not to supposed to, but in much much smaller quantities than i used to! as for runny egg - are we not supposed to have it? i didn't even know! god i'm such a crap mother! we had poached egg on toast yesterday for breakfast and the whites were cooked but the yolks were runny and my goodness they were delicious!

so.....here's a question for all you old-timers: how do you know when the "plug" comes away? miriam says (and yes, she does have kids [and grandkids] of her own, unlike she-who-shall-not-be-named!) that when it comes you should know, but i had a large quantity of mucus-like substance come away this morning and i'm really not sure if it was this plug or not. have been having a few contractions, but just BH i think, but mad lower back pain. am a tad concerned. i know that i could go to the labour ward and they would check with a speculum to see if it's there or not, but i really don't want to spend my sunday afternoon in the labour ward, so any advice would be gratefully received!

2HappyTurtleDoves · 10/12/2006 17:12

UD - did it look like you'd sneezed into your pants? Honestly, that's what a show looks like: snot. Green, possibly slightly blood streaked, snot. (Sorry if anyone was reading while eating...! )
Sorry about the speeding ticket, Daisy. And about dh's exams, good luck for march, Wilkie.
And coincidently covering both runny eggs and p*ed other halfs, dh had his works christmas night out last night. Came back at 2.30 and made himself a fried egg sandwich (mostly dribbled down his front) drank a pint of ds's milk rather than our semi, then passed out. Thank goodness I was staying at my parents last night (though I discovered today that partners were invited . To be fair, it would have been my worst nightmare, but he could have asked!! ) I'm dying to have goat's cheese after this baby is born. And a G&T instead of just T. And red wine. And Baileys. (spot a theme?!) Oh well, only 6 weeks to go!!!

wilkie50 · 10/12/2006 18:14

Sorry if TMI but please help! My right nipple has started itching and is driving me INSANE !! It is the actual nipple (i.e. pointy outy bit not surrounding area.)

Any suggestions as to why? Has anyone else had this? Any suggestions to help cure it.

DH keeps offering to scratch it for me - think he is going down the sexual route though as he keeps suggestively raising his eyebrow at me. Yeah right - like that's going to happen!

LadyTophamHatt · 10/12/2006 19:16

I get itchy nips too wilkie, no idea why though....Just know it's really annoying!

2HappyTurtleDoves · 10/12/2006 20:17

Mine itch every time there's some milk to come out; try giving the boob just behind the nip a squeeze. I find getting the fluid out relieves the itching.

OonaghBhuna · 10/12/2006 20:55

My nipples have been so itchy aswell, maybe the boobs are preparing???? No matter how much I scratch it doesnt get cured

freedomfighter · 10/12/2006 22:31

hello every1...am trying to find thread for mums due in january...is this the right one? am due on 14th with my first

Daisypops · 10/12/2006 22:45

Hi freedom, yes this is the right thread.

Welcome!!! Theres loads of us. Do you know if your having a boy or a girl? x

OonaghBhuna · 10/12/2006 22:56

Welcome FF

freedomfighter · 10/12/2006 23:20

thank u and hello..first scan they said "maybe a girl" and then had another scan about a month back after a fall and the doctor said deffo a girl... but am still sceptical ...at least its made me think hard about girls' names when u due and do u know whether its a boy or a girl?

Daisypops · 10/12/2006 23:53

FF-I'm due 11 January, we don't know the sex.

UD-I think in the 3rd trimester you sometimes get more CM I think like 2Happy says a 'show' is blood streaked. Is it still as bad?

Its my DP's xmas do this saturday no doubt he'll be plastered again. On friday morning there was more pizza topping on the kitchen floor than on the pizza he cooked at 2.15am! Then he passed out and woke us both up in the morning with the loudest longest fart you've ever heard!

Got my 3rd ante natal class tomorrow and we're having a tour of the delivery suite.... Its all becoming a bit real now! Scaring me\a bit

RGee · 11/12/2006 09:41

Daisypops - loved the fart story. It sounds all too familiar!! I've also got 3rd ante natal class tomorrow, where the topic is 'pelvic floor and pysiotherapy' which seems a strange topic for 2 hours. Is it a bit too late in the day for me to start these at 36+4? Better not sneeze....
Hello to FF.

Galmum · 11/12/2006 10:52

Welcome FF. Been enjoying Xmas stories about partners! Can't complain, dh does n't drink or get drunk often, but I have arranged a "Meet & Greet" at the birth centre at 9.15 Sat, when we're out at friends on Fri night. He probably will be a bit grey - I'm enjoying the thought of it already!!

Bump is really big - measuring 38 at 32+6 weeks - oops! Got scan on Wednesday to see how big the baby is. Just noticed that consultant circled my age (34) and BMI (27) - great I'm old and fat !!! Atleast I'm only overweight and not in the obese or morbidly obese section yet!

Galmum ....33+2

annieapple7 · 11/12/2006 12:11

Hi everyone
Haven't posted for a while, just lurking....because I am one of those dreadfully lucky ones having an "easy" pregnancy so nothing to complain about and didn't want to rub it in when so many of you are suffering so badly. I do sympathise though...especially about DHs social lives carrying on with gay abandon while us pregnant women feel like we are living on a different planet to the ones where drunken parties can be enjoyed. Not long to go now and think what a lovely summer of drinking (well, if you have finished bf by then) awaits!
Welcome Freedom Fighter. Wilkie50 - I like the name Jacob, (DS2's second name) so much in fact I quite like it for baby no 3 if it is a boy, but I can't have it now, and I can't think of any boys names. Good jobwe get 6 weeks to regsiter the birth.

coffeebaubles · 11/12/2006 12:30

Hi Everyone,

My full sympathies to everyone who is suffering from either DH or pregnancy complaints (or both !) I had my first reminder of what its like to have no sleep last night and I didnt enjoy it one bit. DD woke at 1am complaining of feeling a bit unwell (had a chinese takeaway last night so bit concerned about egg fried rice - everyone else is OK though) came in our bed then up half an hour later to be sick. She's very good though and managed to get to the loo in time. Another couple of false attempts before being sick in our bed at 5 am ! and then again on the wooden floor this morning (hope it doesnt warp !) obviously not at school today which is a shame as they finish on Friday and I wanted to catch up with all my last minute christmas jobs.
Not sure I'll cope well with sleep deprivation in January.

Luckily my DP stopped drinking when I found out I was pregnant, well, he's had the odd glass of wine with me - its saved us an absolute fortune over the months.Dont need to worry about the christmas party though as he's the boss and its not the done thing to get legless !

Must go washing machine finished ....

laughalot · 11/12/2006 13:29

Hi everyone hope you are all feeling ok im not bad just getting to be the size of a bus , roll on jan the 10th. Well its my dh xmas party on wendasday night they are having a murder mystery theme in a hotel and guess what he is staying in the hotel for the night which means he will be pissed as a fart I will be at home hoping I wont go into labour and wondering what the hell he is up to as he is manager of a travel agents so works mainly with women . To be honest I trust him 100 % and I know all the girls as I work for the same company I just worry about the labour thing as I know he will be pissed.

Ud yes the mucas plug thing is like a big pile of snot in your pants .

I like jacob forgot who was asking.

2HappyTurtleDoves · 11/12/2006 16:07

LTH - just seen your other thread. I think bump measurements are notoriously unreliable, would definitely ask for growth scan.
Welcome, FF
CB - hope dd feeling better
Laughalot - judging by all these stories you're probably better off with dh stayong at a hotel not rolling in drunk with the nibbles (and bad wind )
annieapple - I'm glad you're feeling good - keep posting, it's nice to hear positivity too!
RGee - it's never too late....and squeeeeeeeeeze
Took ds swimming for the first time this am, he was great, a total natural! I was a little worried I might have ladygarden poking out all over the place, but figured I couldn't see it past the bump and was only with mil, so gave up worrying

Lizzz · 11/12/2006 16:35

Hi, had 36 wk scan this morning. The placenta is where its supposed to be so its a matter of sitting and waiting for the games to begin! The baby is already 5lbs 12oz!!!!! and I'm not due till the 7th Jan! I'm gonna have a chubba bubba!

We have our one and only labour workshop this evening. 3 hours of it!

Daisypops · 11/12/2006 20:04

Good news that your placenta has moved Lizzz. Its the waiting game now.

LTH, I'm no expert but to put your mind at rest can you ask for a growth scan?

Hope you DD gets better soon CB.

Well I had my 3rd ante natal class today and we had a tour of the delivery suite. I started to feel a bit faint and got really hot. I think the reality of it finally hit me. I certainly think ignorance is bliss with some things. Still feeling a bit anxious! The classes are supposed to make you feel better aren't they

freedomfighter · 11/12/2006 20:08

thnx every1 for welcome...read about a couple of you having 36 week scans. im seeing midwife this week for 36 week check up but no scan. are you meant to have a scan as routine?
