Twinkletwinkle84 · 28/01/2016 23:31

Hi ladies! Am I too late to join in?

Expecting DC2 on 26th May Smile x

PollyPocket100 · 28/01/2016 23:40

Hi Twinkle Smile

ODog · 29/01/2016 06:35

Welcome twinkle.

how has your pregnancy been so far?

Southy84 · 29/01/2016 10:37

Yay for no more sickness odog I'm a first timer but think the gift for your ds is a great idea, my mum said I was so stroppy (I have photographic proof) when I met my brother at the hospital, think my nose was put out of joint by having a new brother! And maybe a gift from him would have helped, it's also a lovely thought and bound to put a smile on his face :)

I totally understand parsnip I know a couple of people who work on a neo-natal ward who are the same, my anxiousness is mainly caused by birth relates tv programs!

Glad you managed to get away to Ireland daphne I know it's not the same as a sunny destination but definitely nice to get away! I had two episodes of bleeding last week, which they couldn't find a reason for which scared me and suffering with back and hip pain but apart from that im not too bad thankyou :) I definitely don't feel as anxious as the early days.

Have a fab hi day cant :)

polly yes I am pretty big and saw midwife yesterday and measuring ahead already Shock

Welcome twinkle nice to have you here :) not too late at all! Hope you are doing well.

PollyPocket100 · 29/01/2016 12:20

When my little brother was born I was so unimpressed I suggested he live in the shed. I soon got over it though!

Me too Southy, 2 weeks ahead!

Southy84 · 29/01/2016 12:32

Haha that made me laugh polly Grin us sisters are too nice to our brothers!

I'm a week ahead on measurements at the moment, my dh is very tall though compared to me so I'm hoping that's why!

PollyPocket100 · 29/01/2016 12:34

I didn't think of that Southy. It's really not very hard to be taller than me!

Southy84 · 29/01/2016 12:58

Me too only just 5'3" here, I have stumpy legs haha, dh is 6'2and a half

PollyPocket100 · 29/01/2016 13:40

5ft over here. So I'll have DS in March and by the end of the year he'll probably be taller than me!

PollyPocket100 · 29/01/2016 13:40

May not March!

GrouchyKiwi · 29/01/2016 14:13

Welcome Twinkle.

ODog I think your gift idea is lovely, but will caution re stickers. The little feckers get all over the house and will probably drive you insane. I'm probably going to forbid them in my house until the children are at least 20 5 years old.

I've accidentally told my mother and sister that we're having a girl. DH is somewhat amusedly frustrated with my brain. At least now my Mum can help us think of a good middle name. Wink

I'm outrageously tired today. The stupid wind from Storm Gertrude kept me awake all night worrying about the roof flying off.

Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the weekend.

PollyPocket100 · 29/01/2016 14:24

Whoops Grouchy! Great that your Mum helped you out with names though.

Any nice plans for your weekends?

GrouchyKiwi · 29/01/2016 14:31

I've got my usual driving lesson tomorrow morning (in snow! and strong wind!) and then it's my birthday on Sunday. Just planning a quiet one; too tired for anything else.

Do you have plans, Polly?

ODog · 29/01/2016 14:39

Good thinking on the stickers grouchy. He's currently amusing himself with tipping the pegs out of a basket and putting them back in while I hide and eat chocolate and MN so maybe I should just get him some random household objects. Stay safe in the storm.

I really wouldn't worry about measurements at this stage. They are notoriously inaccurate anyway.

PollyPocket100 · 29/01/2016 14:44

Happy Birthday for Sunday Grouchy!
*
It's my nieces birthday tomorrow so we're having a tea party with all the family (very excited for her but would really enjoy a quiet one if I'm honest).

ODog · 29/01/2016 17:03

Sorry, I missed that it was your birthday grouchy. Happy birthday for Sunday x

Southy84 · 29/01/2016 20:52

Hehe I'm sure he won't polly :)

Oh no grouchy at accidentally spilling the beans Blush I would so end up doing the same so I'm glad we don't know! Were they happy to be told or did they want a surprise? My mum & dad want a surprise but I think if I did know they'd want to know too. I'm the same with the tiredness, also think I'm coming down with something, my throat is hurting :( right in time for the weekend! Hope your driving lesson goes well tomorrow and happy birthday for Sunday Smile

No plans for me this weekend, probably the same old lazing around- I'm so bored!!

That's good to know re measurements odog I wil try not to worry about giving birth to a gigantor baby!

Have a lovely time tomorrow polly Its a great excuse to eat cake - win win Grin Cake

Bit of advice needed- do you think when I'm 26 weeks it's too early to buy a pram? Ive always said I wouldn't buy too early but ive seen a mamas and papas baby event in store and if you go along and spend £1000 you get £200 off and we will spend that if we get the pram and car seat with isofix base which I thought was quite a good saving- I'm just feeling hesitant as I always said to myself I wouldn't buy big things until at least 30ish weeks (just because of my anxiety), what would you all do? Is that too soon?

ODog · 29/01/2016 21:55

I think I bought my pram for DS at about 26ish weeks and I bought a double on Wednesday and I'm 26 weeks. It's fine. Go for it.

PollyPocket100 · 29/01/2016 22:01

Go for it, Southy!

ljjeffro · 30/01/2016 10:18

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been very quiet on here the past few weeks but hoping to get back into the swing of the chat. I'm now 23+2wks and had my scan on Monday. All looking good. We are team yellow. southy we bought our pushchair a few weeks ago. I wasn't planning on buying anything till after the 2nd scan but Mamas and Papas had a great sale that was too good to miss out on. I have since ordered a cot and wardrobe from Mothercare also in the sale. Smile

ParsnipSoup · 30/01/2016 10:56

If you've found something you like Southy then get it. I got my travel system a couple of weeks ago because it was such a good deal, I've just kept it in the box just in case. £200 is a lot of money to save, so it sounds sensible.

Welcome back ljjeffro! You're due 2 days after me.

Do we have a way of keeping track of everyone's stats? Like a google spreadsheet or something?! looks around for a computer genius

PollyPocket100 · 30/01/2016 11:10

That would be great parsnip! I also have no idea how to do something like that though...

Southy84 · 30/01/2016 11:29

Thanks everyone ifeel a bit better about getting one :) think I will go for it and keep at mils house.

Hi jeffro hope you're ok, good to hear you're scan went well and another team yellow :)

I would offer to do the stats but have no idea how to do the Google spreadsheet that a lot seem to use. 24+5 here.
