started a new thread as the old one was getting full up. Thought I would post the link to stats here too so people can update if they want!

Well I'm currently sporting the reason 30 odd year olds don't have lilac/blue hair....the lilac I tried achieving last week turned my ombre ends a not so delicious shade of green!!! Sad haha

Poppins27 · 19/09/2015 22:40

Oh...and to all you ladies fancying a nice drink. I chose to have quarter of a glass of rose last night with lemonade...woke this morning feeling like I'd been hit by a bus!! Was so not worth it!!

ThePug · 19/09/2015 23:06

Justtheone I am rhesus negative and had to have the Anti D after I had a mc in April and ERPC. They did it in my bum but it wasn't sore at all afterwards like when you have a flu jab in your arm - nothing to worry about!

Off to use the hotel swimming pool now, trying to decide whether to squish into my swimming costume which was already tight pre-bump or just wear my bikini and hope people realise I'm pregnant and not just letting my massive belly hang out Blush

RhubarbAndMustard · 20/09/2015 02:47

So i'm awake at 2am. Great. At least DS still asleep.

Marmite I wanted a home birth for DS. We were in a 2 bed flat so you don't need much room. I was in the bedroom and I had sewn a plastic sheet to one side of an empty duvet cover and had that on the floor by the bed. The midwife was lovely and it was so much calmer than the hospital. DS was back to back though and after 12 hours I decided epidural was needed, so transferred to hospital.

I am considering home birth again this time though in the hope labour will be easier/quicker this time round. I felt so much more relaxed and in control and now we've moved I'd consider hiring a pool.

MyNameIsSuz · 20/09/2015 06:40

Another one up before my toddler, what a waste!

marmite I'd been told the same about first births when I had ds so went to the mlu on the top floor of the hospital, figuring if I had complications I wouldn't appreciate the 40 minute journey to hospital. But my birth was great! Quick, no problems, just fine. This time I'm thinking of going to the mlu in my town as it's only 5 minutes down the road.

BeautifulLiar · 20/09/2015 07:27

Thanks for the sympathy everyone! Feeling a little better this morning, focusing on my three "days off" in the week and my gender scan. Can't wait until I'm on top form and can get this house blitzed... just thought it would have happened already!

Marmite I've had two home births. The first was in a very small house although the actual room it happened in was large (open plan type thing). It was my "favourite" birth and the midwife was amazing but I cringe at how poor we were! We only had a cheap two seater bistro type table thing which the midwife had to sit on, and a second hand two seater ginger sofa which I ended up leaning over to deliver (I don't do water!).

Obviously the second home birth didn't go to plan! Think DH is secretly hoping to deliver this one too but he can bog off!

Really hoping for another home birth this time.

And yeh I've been awake a while, I'm an early bird anyway but ugh. So hungry!

marmitemofo · 20/09/2015 07:51

I also have a MLU at the end of my road indomitable! It's v popular though (sometimes has to close and divert people elsewhere) and with DD I got sent home twice, even when I was 4 and a half cm dilated (I know someone who got admitted there when 4cm when it was less busy), so I'd like to avoid the palava of going back and forth again (or worrying about it).

DD was back to back so had slow painful labour and ended up having syntocin drip and epidural, hoping it'll be more straightforward this time!

Thanks for telling me your experiences rhubarb and beautiful. I'm definitely leaning towards planning a home birth and going to the hospital if necessary - it is literally 5 minutes away.

DD had a terrible nights sleep, woke up at 2.30 and DP was up with her for an hour and a half! I've no idea why he didn't wake me sooner. Though I'm grateful. Then I took over, weve got a single bed in her room so led with her and managed to get her to sleep about 4.45 them she woke up at 6! So very tired today. Going to an NCT nearly new sale near me today and dreading fighting the crowds! It's so worth it for cheap and good quality clothing though and DD has outgrown her 12-18 month clothes at last and has hardly any any 18-24 months so need to get some 18-24 and 2-3! Then off to the PIL for lunch and will get them to entertain DD whilst me and DP collapse on the sofa!

That sounds good Marmite - I love shopping!

Our hospital is 45 minutes away Confused I found the birthing ball pretty good for turning babies/preparing for labour. Will definitely be buying another one!

RhubarbAndMustard · 20/09/2015 08:03

marmite your B2B labour sounds very similar to mine. Fx for a more straightforward birth this time.

On the plus side, DS slept for a full 13 hours! Unbelievable. Although I was awake most of the night. On the down side, I have just discovered brown spotting this morning. I know brown is better than red so will see how things go today.

Me624 · 20/09/2015 08:04

I'm definitely going to have mine in hospital but need to decide between the midwife led birthing centre or the delivery suite. I like the idea of the birthing centre but then you have to move if you need an epidural or any other intervention so I wonder whether it's less stressful to just start off in the delivery suite so you don't have to move?

MotherKat · 20/09/2015 08:06

I was hoping for a home birth, but with twins they have you on the hospital straight away, I'm still trying to fight monitoring so I'll at least be able to move around.

BeautifulLiar · 20/09/2015 08:12

MotherKat someone had her twins at home over here... the midwives were fuming! My worst nightmare is being monitored and stuff, praying I don't need to be induced or anything.

IndomitabIe · 20/09/2015 08:29

When I had DS we had to be transferred by ambulance to the Big Hospital due to meconium in the waters.

When we got there they hooked me up to the monitors but I don't remember them saying I had to lie flat on my back (I don't remember much!). I couldn't have laid on my back at any rate (the ambulance trip had been agony).

Despite the monitor I spent my time squatting and leaning over DH. They did keep huffing a bit as the pads moved and they lost the trace but luckily DS was absolutely fine.

Going from the MLU to the Big Hosp meant 'my' midwife came with me and was one-to-one with me the entire time. I felt very well looked after.

Rhubarb glad DS slept well for you. Hope the spotting is innocuous. I recommend you ring the mw and get checked. Obviously I just ignored it and went to work, but this is a classic do-as-I-say-and-not-as-I-do situation! How far are you?

RhubarbAndMustard · 20/09/2015 09:08

Indom I'm15 weeks. I thought I'd see how things go today and then call midwife tomorrow. If it gets worse I'll obviously do something sooner. Planning on a relaxing day of possible.

QforCucumber · 20/09/2015 09:28

Oh I feel quite lucky - our MLU is at the big hospital, which we live a 5 minute walk from so don't think I'll decide for a while yet. Went to a friends last night, I had schloer while they had wine - felt almost the same I suppose.
beautiful I feel for you, dp is an electrician and was working night shift at asda while he got fully qualified so we saw nothing of each other,,he got a job for the local council not long after qualifying and has been there for 3 years - pay isn't as good as if he worked away but he's home by half 4 everyday and we prefer that definitely.

Paperblank · 20/09/2015 10:13

16 weeks today - apparently the baby is the size of an avocado Smile

I'm with poppins I had a quarter of a glass of champagne yesterday afternoon and I feel shocking. All our friends indulged in a 12 hr session yesterday and they are all up and about...me? I'm still in bed! What a lightweight ha ha Wine Brew

IndomitabIe · 20/09/2015 10:20

I didn't have my weak shandy in the end. Just a nice cloudy lemonade (rock & roll). I feel like I've missed out on some kind of 0.25-of-a-unit party now!

Missdee2014 · 20/09/2015 11:11

Slightly jealous of you all making decisions about where to have your babies. I'm consultant led so have no choice. I'll no doubt be induced so as soon as I'm started I'll be monitored right through. The key is, pretend it isn't working and be allowed to remain mobile as long as possible

Paperblank · 20/09/2015 11:21

Missdee I'm consultant led too and will be induced. I wish I could go into labour naturally but at the moment it's the safest option for the baby - doesn't make it easier though does it?

((Hug))

Missdee2014 · 20/09/2015 11:37

I've never been allowed to go into labour on my own so I don't know any different. I had easy deliveries with the girls anyway so doesn't worry me in that sense.

BeautifulLiar · 20/09/2015 11:53

That's a shame Misdee. Good that the deliveries were quick though. We were advised not to have a home birth last time, then the consultant said he was happy for me to have no more scans so check on the issue the baby may or may not have had Hmm based on that we went ahead and had a home birth.

Q - it's kind of reassuring to hear you've been where I am now. Shit isn't it? I'm praying he leaves the company as soon as he gets qualified but I can't see it happening, even though the company have screwed him over before!

Still nauseous, still shattered, still a bit light headed, still retching and still vomiting... don't feel like I'm in the second trimester at all! In fact I'm on course to beat my previous morning sickness record of 17 weeks...!

BeautifulLiar · 20/09/2015 12:02

Shit - just realised that although I don't mind whether the baby is a boy or a girl, I am in love with our girl's name and will be so sad if we don't get to use it... still kinda sad DD2 didn't get it - didn't suit her at birth but definitely would now.

If it's a boy I could get a pet right?!

MyNameIsSuz · 20/09/2015 12:34

I'm exactly the same Beautiful! Dc5/3???

BeautifulLiar · 20/09/2015 13:16

Which bit are we the same on Suz?!

This is number 4 for me! Most people's reactions are "why?! You must be mad!" But surely procreation isn't exactly unheard of Confused Grin

AdorabeezleWinterpop · 20/09/2015 13:40

Our girl's name is basically a variation of our boy's name! As we have 2DC already, (and 6 nieces and nephews) lots of our favourite names have been used!
