Yeah they usually get it out the back of my hand, one time they wanted to try my foot! I am used to it after five pregnancies but having to go up to the hospital is a pita. I am going to have to go next week as can't fit it in this week. It doesn't matter too much when booking bloods are done does it? It can't do as booking in is so variable depending on where you live.

Which poster was it that is having twins? I wonder if we will have any more twins in the group, they run in my family so I am slightly paranoid, although as we already have five then I guess one or two more isn't going to make much difference. I would just worry re complications etc with twins. Have always had very straightforward easy pregnancies and am banking on this one being the same.

Coming up to 9 wks now and starting to get excited, still very nervous but also excited. Statistically (for those interested) the risk of miscarriage drops quite considerably from 8 wks, esp if you have seen a heartbeat on a scan.

Right I need to get on with sorting school stuff ready for first day back tomorrow. Loads to label and pe kits, swim kits etc to sort. It's going to be really wierd having an empty house during school hours for the first time in 16 years as madthing5 starts school. I should make the most of the peace and quiet and being able to get stuff done whilst I can! But for the first few days I have planned brunch out with friends and shopping and stuff.

It was mummyofone having twins but I've not seen her since the Great Hacking

poco2015 · 02/09/2015 16:17

i think mummyofone was one of the ones who had their details shared i remember seeing her name on the list

Feefee45 · 02/09/2015 16:34

Yippee finally got the long awaited letter advising my early scan date will be the 14th. Only 12 days to go. Will need to try and keep myself occupied until then.

Really hoping to see a strong heartbeat to ease my mind a little. I will be 7+5 by then.

poco2015 · 02/09/2015 16:39

excited for you feefee45 still awaiting my appointment for midwife booking in and according to my gp i am 10+4 :( I am pretty sure I am not but who am i to argue with my gp! lmao!!

We have told our DS that there is a baby in mummys tummy which he keeps coming up to and waving at and talking through my belly button (he is 2 and a bit so doesnt really understand). We asked him if baby was a boy or a girl and he said girl. He then pointed at "baby" and said one move his hand a little and said two. then leaped around the lounge saying baby one two. Little concerned, bless him.

TwllBach · 02/09/2015 16:49

Checking back in Smile and am excited for everyone having scans soon! I'm having waves of nausea towards the end of the day but my lower abdomen feels achey all the time and sore. I'm shattered all the time too... MsTea I'm trying to do the same re healthy eating and it helps that I've gone off chocolate a bit. I've got a massive sweet tooth and never thought I would say that!

I'm 7 weeks on Friday so am hoping the midwife will call soon to make an appointment as I'm really impatient for a scan.

EnchantedFire · 02/09/2015 17:08

Good afternoon

I thought I'd pop in and say hello. My husband and I found out three weeks ago that we're expecting our first baby and the current due date is 19th April 2016. No appointments through yet for midwife or scan but doctor is happy with BP and lifestyle etc. Daunted, excited, overwhelmed, petrified!

Much love to all

x

Feefee45 · 02/09/2015 17:12

Thanks poco awww bless your DS he is obviously super excited. Maybe he knows something you don't though saying there are two. They do say children are very intuitive lol.

Twll hope you hear soon I couldn't sit still while waiting for my appointment so I know how you feel. Had actually made up my mind to phone them if there was nothing in th post today.

woundbobbin · 02/09/2015 17:20

Afternoon everyone. My 12 week
scan is the 23rd so only a few weeks to wait.
Sickness is bloody awful I've lost 5kg (every cloud) had a leaving do at work today trying to force cake down me (very unusual I normally inhale my food) have had to tell my boss as keep being 5-10mins late for work due to vomming in the car and having to put clean uniform on ugh I'm gross!

Definitelysometime · 02/09/2015 17:21

I'm right off chocolate too, but I'm also right off fruit, veg and pretty much anything vaguely healthy or nutritious. Instead, it's all about cheese, crisps, salty nuts, marmite on toast and the odd burger. Oh dear. This is not going to go well...

Booking in tomorrow and then early scan on Friday when I'll be, at my guesstimate, 8+3

Gah, what a bloody nightmare!
I have just been to GP, did test to confirm but cause she didn't put it in notes I've got to go back Friday to see another Dr and have another test but seems the midwife only works mornings Monday's and Tuesdays til 4:20 so I'm gonna have to see if anywhere else, even the hospital do apps after 5pm
So no closer to sorting a midwife, scan or see how far along I am Angry

PallasCat · 02/09/2015 17:59

Think someone at work has guessed today. Couple of things she said, and asking if I was okay. She's v intuitive though, I had already thought that if anyone guesses it would be her.

Welcome Enchanted!

5madthings thanks for the stat - I knew I'd heard there was week significant for that, but couldn't recall which and it's not in my book.

AnnaC82 · 02/09/2015 18:03

Hi ladies, a few of you have mentioned having an early scan - is this something offered as routine where you are? Or did you have to request it/go private?

poco2015 · 02/09/2015 18:23

I think early scans have been paid for or have been due to spotting etc.

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 02/09/2015 18:25

Hey, I am tentatively going to dip my toe in here! I am 6w exactly today, so my due date should be around 27th April. I have a scan next week as I am IVF and had a MMC with my last pregnancy.

Well I started being very worried about mc again, but that's going away because I am feeling HORRID! The nausea was nothing like this last time! Also, I have been drinking so much mint tea to try and get rid of the trapped wind, but it's all the way up to my ribs and sooooo sore. Anyone else suffering with this?

Anna I get an early scan on the NHS because of my previous mc, but I think I am going to go for a private one between then and the 12 week scan for peace of mind. If you google for "private scans" in your local area, there should be a few places hat offer them. Do shop around though because some are very expensive for no apparent reason.

meganlilly89 · 02/09/2015 18:42

My first scan at 7+3 was a private scan, I booked it for a reassurance due to a previous mc. I then had another scan last Friday at 9 weeks due to me being a paranoid wreck and epu thought it was best to reassure me. Which is did.

My 12 week scan is on the 21st September. X

CarrotVan · 02/09/2015 18:49

Anna - I had a scan at 6 wks and have another booked at 9 wks via the early pregnancy unit because I have previous miscarriages. They've been great. With DS I just had the normal 12 and 20 wk scans and then paid privately for a 4d video scan at about 30 wks (about £120) mainly to help DH bond with the baby

Toes - try peppermint oil capsules for the wind

AnnaC82 · 02/09/2015 19:09

Thanks all.
This is my first so no reason for me to have an early scan. Apparently they're running behind in my area though so I guess I'll wait to see when I get an appointment and if it's ages away might think about a private one. Just want to know that everything is ok!

Emileelogan · 02/09/2015 19:24

Glitter junkie my scan is 24th too and what list are a few if you referring too? Sorry just being nosy ;) xx

Want2bSupermum · 02/09/2015 19:36

wound I had major issues with MS with my first. I had ziplock bags in a KFC container. It worked really well and I never had to change my clothes. I would put my hazard lights on before pulling over to a safe spot if on a busy road. People would get out of my way much faster!

I nearly threw up on the bus this morning. It was horrible and I so thankful when I finally got off. Ate a croissant and chocolate almonds and felt a million times better.

Feefee45 · 02/09/2015 19:43

toes I am the same dates as you and also IVF. Wish you lots of luck with this pregnancy l. Have you got your scan date yet?

MsGlitterJunkie · 02/09/2015 20:23

5madthings I wouldn't worry too much about when your bloods are taken, a few days here or there will make little if any difference.

Welcome toes and enchanted congratulations!

emilee not sure I understand your question, do you mean my list of worries?

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 02/09/2015 20:26

feefee hello! I just know I'm having a scan a week today at 7 weeks, but don't know anything after that, I guess if all is well I will just go see a midwife like everyone else? What about you? I know some clinics scan before 7 weeks.

Thanks for the tip Carrot I'll try it. I bought some apple and ginger juice in waitrose today on a whim, it really helps with nausea.

Emileelogan · 02/09/2015 20:50

Glitter im on my phone and it corrects my words but then things don't make sense... Oh the irony! The scan comment was meant for you... The next question was mire general... It should have read... What list are some of u referring to... A hack list I think it was... Sorry for my confusing waffling lol xx

Feefee45 · 02/09/2015 20:58

Toes mine is a week on Monday so I will be 7 weeks 5 days and I think it will be the same and will just join the masses thereafter. Your symptoms sound encouraging, could it be 2? Let us know how you get on.

I have had a few symptoms off and on but mostly just knackered so I am a little paranoid so roll on the 14th.
