So sorry northern, that is really shit :(

PurplePoppy17 · 21/11/2015 23:52

So this is my back tonight.... It may not look bad but by hell does it itch, it stings and it's taking over! I'm in so much pain I'm literally crying myself to sleep. I've tried every cream and oil possible. Nothing will take to it. I suffer from eczema but this isn't like anything I've had before. It's red raw and lumpy/raised on my skin. It's spread right up my back and is now on my back. It's gradually got worse through the week. Has anyone else had this before? Or suffering from it now? BlushSad

Place marking as I lost the thread for a while.

poppy I have eczema and sometimes my skin just goes a bit mad for no reason, esp in pregnancy. Have you seen gp? Are you taking an antihistamine?

Almost 21 wks now. I had my 20wk scan on wed.baby did not want to co-operate, kept rolling up into a ball with its feet by its head! We didn't find out the Sex, all looked good except my placenta is very low at the front and covering my cervix which if it doesn't move will mean a c section. After five normal deliveries it would be a bit annoying needing a section but nothing I can do about it. The odds are good that as my uterus grows my placenta should be lifted up and away from my cervix so fingers crossed. I get extra scans at 28, 32 and 34 weeks to check on size of baby and placenta position. So that is good and baby is getting really wriggly and am just starting to get a little bump.

emmac3616 · 22/11/2015 12:46

I did not BF my DS and will not be doing it with my second either... That went down like a lead balloon with the MW when she asked...!!!

crumblybiscuits · 23/11/2015 09:43

I breastfed DD for two weeks and will be aiming to EBF for at least the first six weeks.

MrWriter · 23/11/2015 10:04

northern I'm so sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself.

I tried bf with ds, but after a traumatic labour we were both fecked and I was really worried about his feeding. The mws in the hospital were very anti ff and I really worried about ds as he never got any bm.

When I needed to feed him, I had to strip him and rub ice over him to get him awake enough to feed, and he rarely did. It stressed me out and him out so I eventually begged a mw for formula and she gave it to me.

I'm glad we have sensible ladies on this thread who aren't pushing the message either way!

Had my scan and we are having a girl! So excited and can't wait to start dressing her up.

MrWriter · 24/11/2015 12:57

want2b that's great news, congratulations!

I wanted to ask.... do you think its bad luck to tell people the sex of your baby? We didn't find out with ds (the hospital didn't allow it) but we've found out this time and I was telling my boss and all of a sudden a colleague started getting on all weird about it!!

What do you think?

Want2bSupermum · 24/11/2015 13:33

I think it's your child so its your choice. What I don't like about policies on gender is that no one is talking about what happens after the child is born. Coming from a jewish family the tradition is that you don't have any baby things in the house before the birth. Well that isn't how I wanted to do things! If others wish to do that, great for them, and it isn't my place to pass comment.

Having said that I come from a family which is very pro girl. I told my dad on Skype and he admitted that it's a good thing he is getting a second granddaughter because he spoils the first rotten. He struggles to keep the boys and girls even.

5madthings · 24/11/2015 13:39

writer with Ds4 we knew but kept it a secret just dh and I. With dd we knew and I was texting ad I left the hospital, looking back we were almost in shock, after the four boys wr really didn't believe she was a girl. We still had an extra scan at 28 wks where they confirmed girl but didn't believe till she was born. I don't think we could have kept it a secret if wr had tried. So everyone knew and no I don't think it's bad luck. I didn't buy masses of girly stuff though as I said I wasn't convinced until she was born. At her birth I said "is it alright... Is it really a girl"

This time we don't know. Three more scans to have so going to have to be strong willed to not find out.

Anyone else feel like their bump is suddenly expanding, am 21wks now and have just undone button on my jeans, I am goung to have to give up and go shopping..

supermum do you have a dd already or are your other two boys? Sure you have said but I can't remember. I have to say if this one is a girl it will be lovely to re use some of Dr's clothes. She has a shocking wardrobe,it's obscene tbh but there is so much more choice when it comes to girls clothes!

Want2bSupermum · 24/11/2015 13:54

Yes we have one of each. Sadly we donated nearly all of our baby things last summer. Thank goodness we still have the stroller!

It's such great fun shopping for girls. Dd is very girly and wears at least one pink item everyday. Dd has a whole walkin wardrobe of clothes while DS has two drawers! I'm trying to find some winter clothes for him but there has been nothing so far. I've just ordered trousers from M&S as they have free delivery internationally right now.

MrWriter · 24/11/2015 14:02

It was the way he reacted, just cut me off mid sentence and made some weird eye movements. He's made me paranoid.

Want2bSupermum · 24/11/2015 14:09

You never know. He could be having fertility problems.

5madthings · 24/11/2015 14:20

Ha we gave away our baby stuff yo and most of Dr's clothes as she has outgrown them I have handed on but lots I gave to a friend who has kept them as she thought we may have another!

We still have our pushchair and I lent my slings to a friend who will send them back as her baby is getting too big anyway. My sister has a first stage carseat we can have.

M&s do some quite nice clothes, my four boys have clothes from there although ds1 is now too tall for their kids stuff but not quite big enough for their mens...

Re other people's reactions yes I agree it could be anything ie fertility problems etc. One time when ds1 was little a friend announced her preg, what she didn't know was I had just had a miscarriage. I congratulated her but had to excuse myself to go have a little cry in the bathroom. I imagine she thought I seemed a bit! 'Off' obviously I was thrilled for her and I fell preg with my ds2 the next month but at the moment it was a bit uncomfortable.

I feel a bit awkward sharing news re this pregnancy as I have a friend struggling to have number two, it almost feels greedy thst I am having number six.

MrWriter · 24/11/2015 15:48

I don't think so, his wife has just had their second child a few months back.

Thank you.

helensburgh · 24/11/2015 19:22

Northern I am so sorry x

helensburgh · 24/11/2015 19:25

I'm. Now 18 ish weeks.

I'm panicking as not felt any definite movement and don't have a bump. People are commenting on the no bump.

Had midwife appt last wek and heard heartbeat which is reassuring.

This is baby number 3

brookeberry · 25/11/2015 11:59

Helen I read that if you have good abdominal muscles, your bump stays more compact within your body at this point, if not it leans out a bit more. I had a bit of fat on my tummy before I got pregnant - I'm 20 weeks and I don't look any different yet. People do say funny things to pregnant women!

I had a 'popping' sensation just under my belly button the last two evenings when lying down. Possible movements or just gas?! Grin Anyone else had this?

ComeLuckyApril · 25/11/2015 12:34

brooke, my first kick was like that. Getting more now though still not very frequent yet. It felt like I was the surface of a thick soup or porridge that had just started to boil.

crumblybiscuits · 25/11/2015 12:41

I felt kicks from the outside last night! I'm so in love Grin brooke definitely sounds like movement!

brookeberry · 25/11/2015 12:56

Heehee comelucky a perfect description! So exciting crumbly this is my first!!

Want2bSupermum · 25/11/2015 14:07

Those popping sensations are movements. It's awesome isn't it!

Baby is moving a lot but due to excess padding nothing can be felt from the outside.

5madthings · 25/11/2015 14:14

21 weeks here and proper kicks now, literally in the last week or so they have become really noticeable and Iast night I felt some from the outside. Suprised as i have an anterior placenta.

I gave in today and bought some maternity jeans, my Size twelves are getting snug. I am just getting a bump, feel like it's growing daily. At 18 weeks you couldn't tell at all and this is number six. I think it just varies so much. Also if your uterus is further back or tilted back you may show later?

I am loving the wriggling of baby, it's very active in the evening, I had a look at some baby bits today, breast pump etc as I happened to be in a store that sold them.in town. Didn't buy anything though, it's Dd's bday next week so was getting her stuff sorted.

Want2bSupermum · 25/11/2015 14:32

Oh I wish size 12s were snug. I'm in size L yoga pants and my size M maternity coat from my last pregnancy is too small. Hoping for some price reductions on Friday because in my local town everyone is skinny. I put a ISO post on our local buy sell page and got nothing. It was all 'I have a medium that was huge on me.' Grrrrr

crumblybiscuits · 25/11/2015 15:15

Thankfully I've lost a stone from the 5 mile daily trek but all my maternity jeans are a 10 and I'm a bit smaller now so they keep fall down constantly! I've put on maybe 4lbs this whole pregnancy while eating awfully. I have a tilted uterus but I am ginormous with actually an embarrassingly large bump Blush a friend told me I was bigger than another friend at 40 weeks last week! So excited that DF might be able to feel baby kick this weekend when he is home from work.
