I have finally got that positive after 6 years of TTC. I checked on a site that calculates due dates for IVF cycles and it gave me the due date of August 3rd. Is there not a thread created yet for August 2007?

I'm going to see my GP next week as I'm having to cancel alot of appointment, scan and x-ray as I was being tested for PCOS and blocked tubes as it tuck me 18 months TC this little one, but I will book midwife about 8-9th week so 3-4 weeks to get the scan booked and so on, so that'll be first week of Jan I'll book MW, get xmas out the way!
Hope all is fine and well with all us PG ladies. and feedmenow yes it's nice to have a bump budy !

feedmenow · 03/12/2006 19:04

Isn't it tricky hiding things from people. Just got back from a meal out with some friends and family, trying desperately not to make it obvious that I wasn't indulging in any "festive spirits" and feeling like everyone can tell already!

gardeninggirl · 03/12/2006 19:51

Especially with the Christmas party season coming up!!!!
Hope all you girls are having a good weekend.

londonlou · 03/12/2006 19:59

gardeingirl - I'm not surprised the GP isn't interested. I've heard they're like that at this stage. Although mine is really nice and has always been interested in my fertility treatment. I went to Care in Nottngham to be under a particular specialist. Worth the journey from London. I stayed at my mum's in sheffield so wasn't that bad. I'm preparing for the raised eyebrow when I tell the GP I want a homebirth. Funny, as it's only 30 years they shifted everyone into hospital.

Weekend go well everyone?

I've been a fighting my negativity that something will be wrong when I have my early scan on 20th. I keep seeing myself there and the scan woman tells me there's nothing there. Hmm, better get working on those positive thoughts...

hi everyone - had a great weekend - had my sister and her dh and ds to stay and they found out she is pregnant too - due about four days after me! she is an mner too so you never know she may just turn up on this thread too.

phoned gp surgery to try and make appointment again today - no appointments so i explained what it was for and suddenly she was a lot nicer - i wonder if there are a lot of people just now wasting time with things that dont really need a gp. anyway - she gave me the direct number of the midwives and told me to get their advice on whether they could see me in jan direct, rather than being referred through gp to save an appointment where it sounds like all they do is check your blood pressure anyway.

getting my dh to phone though as my office is too open for phone calls like that.

anyone got any more symptoms yet?

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2006 17:49

Hi Conkertree has kindly invited me to join this thread. I just found out I was pregnant this morning. I'll be due the 13th of August.

gardeninggirl · 04/12/2006 19:10

Hi Paula - Congratulations!! And I love the name!
Are you conkertree's sister?
Glad to hear you might be able to miss out the GP conker - they don't seem very interested - except Lou who sounds like she has a good one!
Lou wow to travel to Nottingham - but it turned out well so far - loads of luck for the 20th - I know its scary imagining lots of things - hopefully the scan will give you some reassurance so you can enjoy christmas. i keep reading that the miscarriage rate is much lower once they have seen a heartbeat.
Have any of you seen the stuff on the news about risks for miscarriage? Have to admit to eating extra fruit today (love veggies but don't usually like fruit so much).
As for symptoms: feel really weird - like butterflies / cramps / twinges / gas in tummy and vague nausea. Definate breast tenderness - I love sleeping on my tummy and that is becomming difficult !!
Hope everyone else feeling well - anyone else getting m/s yet?
G

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2006 19:24

Nope she's not my sister just a stranger she saw on another thread and pointed in the right direction.

PurpleRabbit · 04/12/2006 20:13

Hi, I'm conkertree's sister - can I join in too?

I'm 4.5 weeks and due around 8th August. It'll be my second DC - DS is 22 months.

Looking forwrad to chatting with you all over the next few months !

feedmechristmaspuddingnow · 04/12/2006 20:39

Purplerabbit, your name immediately made me think of "pleasure gadgets" available thru Ann Summers I hope it makes me smile every time I see your name!
I have symptoms - really bad (upper half) wind! Suffered with gas further on in my other pg's, but this was one of the first things I noticed this time, practically within a week of conception! I've got a fun 9 months ahead of me, glugging on the gaviscon!
I have also just had to get dp to squeeze a HUGE spot on my back which is not something I usually suffer from

feedmechristmaspuddingnow · 04/12/2006 20:40

Oh, and whats that about risk of miscarriage and fruit and veg.....?

gardeninggirl · 04/12/2006 20:53

Hi Purplerabbit! You are conkers sister - Congratulations!
Feedmenow - I like the xmas name! Glad to hear of someone else who likes Christmas pudding
The BBC news kept going on about a new study on risks of m/c today - I am hopeless at posting links - so I have copied and pasted this from the BBC news website. If you want to read the article go to the news website, on the left there is an index - go to health and it is on there.
"Women who are very underweight before they become pregnant are 72% more likely to miscarry in the first three months of pregnancy, a study suggests.
A London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine team looked at 600 women who had miscarried and 6,000 whose pregnancies continued past 12 weeks.

They found that eating fruit and vegetables, and also chocolate, daily helped reduce the risk of miscarriage.

Those classed as underweight had had a body mass index (BMI) under 18.5."
Anyhow not sure if it will help but I am trying to eat more fruit.
Luckily doing the chocolate thing is not too difficult for me !!

Loulee · 04/12/2006 21:23

Hi Girls, Can I join too? Just found out I'm pg with no. 3 and am due round about the 3rd Aug I think. Have been a mumsnet lurker over the years, but thought this looked like fun!

paulaplumpbottom · 04/12/2006 21:46

Congrats!!!!!

gardeninggirl · 05/12/2006 08:30

HI Loulee
Congratulations!!

conkertree · 05/12/2006 08:51

ooh very exciting - more and more of us - hi purple rabbit, paula and loulee

ah well off for another day of boring old work - how many days till christmas again? can't wait. hope you all have good days.

ps - purple rabbit - your ds left his dominoes at our house at the weekend.

paulaplumpbottom · 05/12/2006 13:18

How much fun is it going to be for you two Conker & Purple Rabbit? Pregnant together.

feedmechristmaspuddingnow · 05/12/2006 14:43

Hello and congrats Loulee!

Gardeninggirl - the eating choccie bit is probably no problem for most of us! Could quite easily combine 2 of the 3 recommendations by purchasing a choccie fountain and having a daily serving of fruit dipped in!! And me also thinks that the BMI of 18.5 or under is preeeeetty unlikely for most ladies too!! (Unless there is anyone superfit out there?)

paulaplumpbottom · 05/12/2006 16:46

ooohhh I love the fountain & fruit idea.

BabymadwithBump · 05/12/2006 17:10

Oh yes dark and white choc fountain with fruit >

My BMI is 20.52, it was about 19.6 last month!

4 weeks and 4 day PG and only 248 days left to go, not counting I promise

How is everyone?

paulaplumpbottom · 05/12/2006 17:22

I'll be 4 weeks tommorow. Is it to early to go to the doctor yet? Had a miscarriage at 6weeks in Sept, am dying to go to see if everythings ok.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 05/12/2006 19:13

Hi everyone!

Can I join you?

paulaplumpbottom · 05/12/2006 19:44

PurpleRabbit · 05/12/2006 20:21

feedmechristmaspuddingnow - glad the name makes you smile - suppose I should have thought of that sort of meaning for it!!

Pecka - congratulations!

Paula - yes, it's going to be great being pregnant along with conkertree. Only problem is if we go out anywhere together over the next couple of weeks how are we going to cover up that neither of us is drinking?
