Is there a Due in August 2007 Thread?

I have finally got that positive after 6 years of TTC. I checked on a site that calculates due dates for IVF cycles and it gave me the due date of August 3rd. Is there not a thread created yet for August 2007?

NattyandThomasandBump thanks very much, How are you and your little man? And how is your PG going!?

Beakyman · 07/12/2006 20:47

Hi, can I join too?!

Got my BFP just 2 days ago and am due 11th August -ish. Am so excited to be preg again, despite horrible morning sickness and horrendous birth first time round! Fingers crossed for this time......

Purple rabbit; I also have DS of 23 months and this is my second pregnancy.

ChristmasMadwithBump · 07/12/2006 20:49

KatyH welcome and congrats, You could always tell them you have a water infection and your antibiotics for it and cant drink due to the tabs! I've told a few friends and the family! Not told any children yet I'm waitting till I'm 3-4 months first!
I have chronic Pyelonephritis (damaged kidney due to recurring kidney and water infections) I cant drink due to the condition and the tabs I end up on!

ChristmasMadwithBump · 07/12/2006 20:50

Beakyman welcome and Congratulations to you too!

KatyH · 07/12/2006 20:53

Congratulations Beaky! My dd has just turned 2, isn't it weird to think they're going to be big brothers and sisters?!

I think the antibiotics excuse may be my only hope. The last time I pretended I was trying to cut down but nobody bought it, what does that say about me?!

paulaplumpbottom · 07/12/2006 20:54

Congrats Katy! Take the glass of wine but only appear to be drinking it. Nobody will notice if you do it well enough. Drink lots of water and deny any knowledge of the full glasses of wine. Push them out of your range when nobody is looking.

Beakyman · 07/12/2006 20:57

Hi all, its great to know you are all out there as I haven't told anyone in "real life" yet!

Am dreading christmas as we have MIL over, who is always hard work. And I may well be feeling cr**!

KatyH · 07/12/2006 20:58

Might give that a go Paula. I'm sure I could easily the fake the 'talking crap for Scotland' that usually goes along with my wine drinking

KatyH · 07/12/2006 21:03

I know what you mean Beaky. I've got a whole week to spend with all of the in-laws which can be tough at the best of times, let alone when you're knackered, irritable and feeling sick...sigh...here's the season to be jolly!

paulaplumpbottom · 07/12/2006 21:08

Well to make my Christmas earlier with the MIL We are going to tell them on Christmas Eve if we can get it confirmed by a doctor by then. It got me out of loads of washing up when I was pregnant with my first one.

londonlou · 07/12/2006 21:18

Hi everyone,

welcome the newbies! It's all kicked off while I was off for a couple of days (internet down). There's loooooooaaads of us! Nothing much to report here. No real symptoms yet except the boobs. Still nervous for the scan on the 20th, trying to keep it together.

Did I mention I went to GP? She said there was no patient choice in maternity services, so looking into that now. If I am going into hosp I want to go to the one of my choice. Anyone know about that?

OP posts:
paulaplumpbottom · 07/12/2006 21:20

Why did she say you couldn't?

Beakyman · 07/12/2006 21:22

lol Paula! I guess I could try the sympathy vote. Its just she's so LOUD and she smokes(tho to give her her due, she does go outside).

A week with the in-laws Katy H?! Man!!!!!! It puts my 2 days in perspective

KatyH · 07/12/2006 21:29

ooohhh, maybe I could tell them then I might get extra roast potatoes for all her faults my MIL is a great cook.

LL - I think you're GP is right. I think having a choice of hospitals only relates to elective inpatient procedures, which technically having a baby isn't - unless maybe you're having an elective cesaerean. Does seem a bit rigid on the part of the GP though.

paulaplumpbottom · 07/12/2006 21:30

I am a big believer in getting sympathy when I can. Nobody gives it to you after they are born thats for sure.

ChristmasMadwithBump · 07/12/2006 21:40

I want to have my Baby at home DH not keen but it's not him having the baby now is it
Had both My DS's in hospital, I had DS#1 3 days early and was born 3 hours and 44 mins of being at the hospital and DS#2 was almost 2 days early and I had him 3 hours and 25 mins of being in hospital, both normal delivery's, so I'm hoping that goes in my faver! I just need to find a MW practise that will administer Pethidine in a home birth, b/c some don't!

treacletart · 07/12/2006 22:58

I'd love a home birth too. I had an unplanned home birth with DS (3.5y) because he came so quickly. Had a missed miscarriage recently but MW had been very supportive of another home birth and I'm assuming just 2 months on she'll be as supportive this time around! She actually said they'd prefer it because of the likely speed. But, I'm in Brighton and we've a very active home birth unit. (Seems very early to be thinking of this stuff but) I'm hoping to hire a birth pool.

feedmechristmaspuddingnow · 08/12/2006 08:28

I'm in the same boat re. the drinking! It has to be something really serious to make me not drink so I'm going to say I'm on metranidazole (which apparently can be extremely dangerous if you drink with it!)
Also, I'm SURE that you always get a choice re. your care. My last pg, I just told them that I wasn't going to hospital A and that I wanted hospital B. My gp asked why, but said it was fine. And recently, my SIL visited 3 hospitals and then chose which she wanted. REMEMBER, we are pg, not sick and it is up to each of us to have what we want!!

conkertree · 08/12/2006 08:52

Hi to all the newbies. Regarding the drinking - I have told one friend at work about being pg and she is going to help me out at the works dinner. I'll have a glass of wine but keep it next to hers and she will drink out of both etc. I will then have to look after her when she's falling over later on.

spoke to purplerabbit last night and she said she'd had siilar cramps so was a lot more relaxed about it. just have to hope it doesn't happen again today or people will really start to talk, and I'd rather I chose when to tell them, but its not the end of the world i suppose if they found out.

paulaplumpbottom · 08/12/2006 09:03

Mornin yall!!!!!

I have been so excited this morning. With the pregnancy I lost in Sept, everytime I took a test the blue line was so faint you could barely see it. Although a digital always confirmed it. I tested again this morning, just for kicks, and it was the prettiest dark blue line you ever saw!!!!!!!!!! I know that probably sounds silly to yall butit has put me on cloud nine!!!!!!

missingmywine · 08/12/2006 10:02

Hello everyone! Did a PG test last night and a BFP - DH & I are both happy and scared - we have 2 DD's already! I estimate due early August, am impressed so many of you have the dates to the day! Am feeling slightly guitly as we've been trying for so long, nothing happening so sort of assumed it wasn't going to so have had a few glasses of wine . Fingers crossed everything will be ok - off to the docs later today. Will use some of the tips re trying to disguise the 'non' drinking at the Xmas do's!!

paulaplumpbottom · 08/12/2006 11:35

There are a lot of websites online that can tell you your exact due date if you know the day your last menstral cycle started

lovelybird · 08/12/2006 13:23

Helo all, can I join too?
I had my BFP Saturday but didn't quite believe it, tested again yesterday and another BFP
The internet gives me a due date of 11th aug, but I think it may be later than this as I have been TTC and have been oving quite late during cycle.
This is my 2nd, I have a DS of nearly 23 months. Am very excited but trying not to get too carried away this early on. Feel crap though, have felt V sick all day long since monday but haven't been yet!
Congrats to you all and looking forward to getting to know you all over the coming months

londonlou · 08/12/2006 14:16

Glad I;m not alone on the homebirth thing. No doubt they won't like a first timer doing homebirth, but hey! Not one to be backwards coming forwards.

One thing that seems to work re the drink thing is to tell people you're doing a detox. I've got a real problem in that I can't digestive alcohol hardly and I;m not allowed to get drunk anyway. If I do the effects are like the exorcist! LOL. People tend to not ask further questions if you mention your bowels!

Thanks londonlou - have tried that before but normally retorted with 'yeah right....' - they know me soooooo well . I normally drink my own body weight in tea & coffee too - as soon as I ask for decaff @ work the word gets out! Anyone know the latest guidelines on caffeine?
