Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 34th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 33rd grads fred is here.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 51st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Elasto-vag wil Grin Lets hope it's feeling super stretchy when indichick decides to hatch

Toast85 · 25/07/2015 21:26

Jelly show us your bumpie!

gaggiagirl · 25/07/2015 22:16

Awwww indiechick! Less than 5 weeks for certain that chick will hatch!

deeplybaffled · 25/07/2015 22:54

indigo -as a result of your elastovag evangelism, I've invested in an epi no too - but really can't figure out how you measure it! Probably being really dim, but are you supposed just to put the edge of the balloon next to the 0cm bit and go from there, which would mean it is about 4cm uninflated? And what's the pressure gauge bit for??

oneyorkshirepud · 25/07/2015 22:58

Yey for more epi-no!

Do you think my midwife would think I was totally insane if I asked her if I could 'have a go' on some gas and air pre-labour? She is going to show me around the MLU at one of the appointments so if will just be me and her. I have a fear of being out of control, specifically in a drug-induced scenario, and want to check that I can handle it before I rely on it for pain relief. Totally mental?!

gaggiagirl · 25/07/2015 22:58

deeply I think the pressure gauge bit is for pelvic floor exercises. Ooh indigo will be pleased! Not too long for you either!

gaggiagirl · 25/07/2015 23:00

pud when you put it like that it sounds reasonable enough, you can but ask. Definitely worth talking it through though.

honeysucklejasmine · 25/07/2015 23:01

No harm in asking Pud!

I mentioned my fears re non stretchy vagina to midwife. She thinks it's prob going to be a wait and see if they can get a hand up there on the day kinda of thing, and if not, I guess EMCS. She did take me seriously so felt reassured rather than fobbed off.

deeplybaffled · 25/07/2015 23:07

ga - i know! Finish for maternity leave on Friday and will be just over 35 weeks as have got some holiday to use up first. Think it will start to feel very real then....at the moment, still in semi-denial, i think.
think you might be right about the pressure gauge bit, but no idea how far it should move when you do the exercises. . . think it is going to be trial and error to some degree :)

Indigoblue2 · 25/07/2015 23:12

deeply - I will tell you ALL the stuff! There are two brilliant videos which I will link for you or attempt, I'm shit at links

Indigoblue2 · 25/07/2015 23:14

www.epi-no.co.uk/about-us/

There are great videos showing exactly how to use at the bottom deeply, watch them and then watch them again. And I can answer any questions because I'm an expert, obviously Wink

LaLaLaaaa · 26/07/2015 04:13

Awake and scared...

...contractions stopped around 7pm yesterday. I still have the backache and period pain. But I guess I'm going for the induction today. I have to call at 7:30 to get my time for admission

I feel like I'm just too weary of this all now to not have induction. I'm hoping that I'll be far enough dilated now that they can either just break waters to start or pessary will help it along. But I'm frightened that it's going to hurt more as result of induction

I really do just want this LO out now though.

The bit I'm not looking forward to is being on wars during induction, with lots of other people around. I like the privacy of being at home for early labour but tbh I think it'll be worth it to finally get this baby out. He really has had his full quota in there Smile

Nessalina · 26/07/2015 04:48

Come on in baby La, your time is up! Smile

Don't worry too much La, you're likely so dilated by now that any intervention will get things right going! I know you've had a few sweeps already (was it five?!), but you're not quite two weeks over yet, and as your waters haven't gone there's no reason that they won't take it slow still with induction if that's what you're worried about.
You can start with the pessary, because if that gets things moving on its own then there's much less chance of interventions than other induction methods. They should be able to give you another 24hrs trying the pessary, and our hospital does a slow release one that they can pop inside then let you go home if you want, so that maybe an option if you'd prefer not to stay in?
Then you can move to breaking waters if that doesn't get things going, then drip only if breaking waters still doesn't progress you.

On the other hand, labour is only a means to an end. Once that baby is on the outside it'll matter much less how they got here, so if once the induction is going you prefer to get it speeded up, then get the epidural, and get BabyLa out! Smile

teejayem · 26/07/2015 05:34

Hugs la - if you're dialating already I I'm not sure they'll stick you on a ward, I got put in a room on my own with no dialating, just leaky waters. It sounds like you're well on the way though, fx they can pop your waters, but if not I bet you won't need much encouragement pessary wise. Don't be scared about the pain! I know it's easier said than done, but You've got lots of options for pain relief, and can ask for stuff before they start you off so you won't get overwhelmed if it starts happening quickly. We are thinking of you and sending lots of nice labour vibes! X

oneyorkshirepud · 26/07/2015 05:59

Flowers for you La. I understand why you are worried, can't even imagine how tired you are too. From what I have read the thing that causes the v intense contractions is the drip and as I understand it you should be offered an epidural before this. However, as others have said they may be able to just break your waters or give you a pessary to get things going. If you are not going to be admitted until later do try to get some more sleep if you can.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 26/07/2015 06:29

La - Easier said than done, but try not to stress. It's hurts whether or not someone is induced, and you're never going to be able to compare one type of birth vs the other, so no point! Hell, why not go the other way and assume it will hurt LESS? Grin I they say one of the big factors in pain during child birth is how stressed the woman is? Thanks Nature.

Can you get Mr La to call for the appointment whilst you try to get some more rest?

LaLaLaaaa · 26/07/2015 07:10

Thanks viroids. Feeling fine after more sleep. Still contracting but hopefully that's only helping things as I might be further along. Got my game face on now and ready to just get on and get it done.

Eek! I'm having a baby today! Smile

honeysucklejasmine · 26/07/2015 07:15

Yes you are! You're going to be holding your little lad in your arms before long!

mountaingirl01 · 26/07/2015 07:47

Not much to add to the advice of other viroids, but just wanted to add my love and support la, today you are going to meet your boy! How incredibly awesome. Will be thinking of you today x

jellypi3 · 26/07/2015 07:52

Yay good luck today la. Time to meet your long awaited little man!

ChatEnOeuf · 26/07/2015 08:00

Good luck La! Honestly, if you were 3cms a day or so ago, they may stick you straight on LW and just break your waters - that's likely to get you going without any drugs. Hope all goes smoothly.

WilHarlot · 26/07/2015 08:11

How exciting La. When I went in for induction my cervix wasn't even favourable or whatever they say. I think that's probably when it takes forever and is more difficult. Sounds like you're already on your way but just need a helping hand so fx it will be quick. Good luck, can't wait to see pictures!

WilHarlot · 26/07/2015 08:12

(of your baby, not your cervix)

SecondCupOfTea · 26/07/2015 08:29

drops pompoms in the excitement

Best of luck today La and just think how much this will feel worth it in a few hours.

Thinking of you today Smile
