Hiya - just thought an alternative place for those of us on our 2nd or more pregnancies might be a good idea. I just found out and already it's very different than the first time!

I'm on #2, EDD 25/3/16, one DS 2yrs and 2 months.

Hi, I'm about 10+4 with baby number 3, I have a DD of 3.8 and a DD who is very nearly 18 months. I will end up with a 4.3yo and a just-turned-2yo ... I'm absolutely thrilled but slightly apprehensive. DD1 will be at school nursery 2 full days a week so hopefully I'll be ok - I had the two girls at home full time for the first year (until the eldest started her funded hours) and loved every minute of it.

Off to read through Smile

LastOneDancing · 21/07/2015 06:25

I have woken up with heartburn.

Is that even possible?!

rdr last time I was pregnant I developed the palate of a 5 year old - burgers, chips, sausages and everything with tomato sauce and a fizzy drink. I was massive by 16 weeks! desperately trying to curb it this time!

SunnyL · 21/07/2015 07:38

At what point did your symptoms kick in? I think I'm 3+2 and have nada. Can't remember last time - think it was about 4 weeks.

Will be stocking up on ginger nuts and gaviscon for when it does happen. My problem last tine was I felt nauseous when i didn't eat except I didn't want to eat because I felt nauseous - right bitch if a catch 22

Indomitable · 21/07/2015 08:00

I'm 4+4 Sunny and I think symptoms started about 6 weeks last time.

I've pinched your idea and have just added ginger everything to the Tesco order (tea, cordial, biscuits, oat cakes). Maybe some of it will work!

ThursdayLast · 21/07/2015 08:09

I've been having symptoms from the day my period was due Sunny. Mainly tiredness and intermittent nausea that have both been growing and growing over the last fortnight.

I'm 6 weeks today and I feel revolting. I don't know how I kept it under wraps with DS - I might have to tell my mummy friends soon. I'm sure they know!

My boobs haven't blown up yet though - last time they were so tender immediately.

ThursdayLast · 21/07/2015 08:09

Sorry, that was very me me me!

How is everyone else this morning?

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 21/07/2015 08:28

Is anyone else holding off organising booking in etc? I am super paranoid after mc that I'll jinx it somehow. I'm 4 weeks- think I'll probably wait until 6 or so before calling midwife. Like pps I do believe that what'll be will be but it's so tough not to think about what might happen.

rdr15 · 21/07/2015 08:37

Morning thursday feeling rough DD up twice last night not helpful when I already spend most of the day as a zombie! Slowly eating some jam on toast (my staple breakfast when pregnant last time :) )
sunny started symptoms about 6 weeks so the last 3 weeks have been very eurgh. I also get very nauseous when I don't eat so I always try and nibble on things. Sometimes it does make me sick bit it helps keep the nausea at bay.
teddy I rang at 4/5 weeks just to make sure I could get in for a scan on time. I'm sorry you're feeling so paranoid it's hard trying not to worry. Hugs.

mrsnec · 21/07/2015 08:59

I held off last time because I'd been caught out before when I had my mc. I couldn't handle seeing an empty screen again so tried to leave it as long as possible. By that point I was 12 weeks an they couldn't book me in until 15 which made it very late for some of the diagnostic tests.

This time they wanted to see me at 7+6 and gave me my first scan then. The first thing they said, as predicted was are you sure you're pregnant but then he saw what he needed to and said everything was ok so far. I'm 8+3 now and have been for full blood work today and have another appointment next week. I'm not in the UK and it all feels way too early.

I definitely think if its helping having been through it all before and I'm feeling very pregnant. Ditto the diet of a badly fed child! Ran out of biscuits and pringles this morning. Not going to buy more!

RooibosTeaAgain · 21/07/2015 09:05

Teddy I am holding off as only 4+4 and the earliest they do booking in is 8 weeks ( was 9 last time I think). Think will wait til 6 weeks before ring to book to see community midwife. Have had trouble staying pregnant/mc also - so do not want to assume too much either.

Indomitable - seems to be a few of us at same stage - wonder of we will get the same EDD!

Is a bump/weight gain more noticeable in a subsequent pregnanct ( ashamed to stay still got 1st to lose from our loss as have been comfort eating - so already at a size not happy with, eek). Please someone tell me eir boobs magically shrink/stay the same and a bump appears so much later Wink as will need to hide this pregnancy til at least 15 weeks!

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 21/07/2015 09:37

Oh no I just did the second clearblue test (the one with the cross that appears) and the line is quite a bit less strong than it was 2 days ago when I did the first one. Does that mean it's bad news do you think?

Raeside · 21/07/2015 09:42

Im definitely holding off calling to book - I'll just self-refer to C&W again prob about 5-6 weeks for booking in at 8 weeks. They get really busy there so I need to be a little ahead of the game.

Fair sure will cough up for a viability scan and panorama testing too. Jeez.

No symptoms at 4+4 bar late afternoon sore boobs and heaviness in the right kind of area. Feels a bit like AF has just arrived, I guess?

I poas this morning - LAST TIME I PROMISE!! - but it came up nice and strong and fast so I feel better.

At C&W now actually for appt with DS, is on same floor as antenatal so maybe I should duck in and just do paperwork now? Not sure.

I both would like some nausea and am dreading it! I sometimes get a single wave post-breakfast but that's it. I'm totally dreading starting two new work contracts smack bang in middle of first trimester. Will be v shitty.

I hope the sick amongst us have a less nauseous day!

Oh - one thing which might be symptom - I get hot and sweaty with almost no exertion. Not a good look. Anyone else?

You get put on a list here, and the midwife calls you when you're getting near 8 weeks I think to make appointment.

I just called the doctors reception to get put on the list a few days after my positive stick.

What is C&W Rae?

DS playing apps til it's time to go out bad mummy

RooibosTeaAgain · 21/07/2015 10:33

Teddy - not sure. I have not got stronger line on IC for days but used a few FRER and the line is noticeably darker on 4th one compared to 1st one. But 2nd and 3rd were the same, both faint.
Maybe leave it a day or two and test again? Have you used a digital? Know no point using them close together though. Hope it is ok.

Just had prawn cocktail crisps for breakfast - oh dear Blush

Raeside · 21/07/2015 10:49

Oh sorry - Chelsea & Westminster

Fugghetaboutit · 21/07/2015 11:32

Glad you got a strong line Rae good news

Fugghetaboutit · 21/07/2015 11:33

I have my 16 week appt later at Drs and my hospital still haven't got my notes ready, little miffed about that but it's a crap hospital being closed down. I won't be labouring there thank goodness!

stupidgirl45 · 21/07/2015 12:06

Morning everyone,

With POASing I believe that sometimes lines can be faint due to amount of ink in the test, not lack of hormone. I think CBD is the best one - although I did at least 6 tests in 4wk-5wk pregnant time! It's so hard, so I do feel for you and if you've had mc then I can only imagine what it must be like.

I had (not the same) but spotting for 2weeks with my son and was then very afraid to get my hopes up esp re: MMC despite early scans being okay. This time round someone said to me that you don't feel any less upset if you've been excited aboout the baby (someone who'd mc'd) and so to try not to worry as much. I've found that has helped me this time despite fears of jinxing things (had to tell a lot of people early for various medical reasons) so maybe that might help someone - apologies if not and Im only being hugely untactful about something I don't know much about. SOrry in advance if so. Anyway, gentle hugs all round for those worried and POASing.

My nausea is slowly abating (thank god!) and I have omeprazole for my heartburn which is amazing. Only got it at 28 weeks last time.

Have had hideous trapped wind though but having less dairy and drinking mint tea seems to have really helped - if that helps anyone else?

My bump seems huge for 13+6 - I'll be massive like I was last time. Trying to eat healthily but having a bit of a sod it moment!!

When my nausea was awful, fizzy drinks helped a lot, so don't beat yourselves up over that - some fluid better than none IMO :)

I'm still so tired and just counting the weeks to 16wk appt (where I'll actually be 17wks) and then 20 wk scan and then I will be properly excited.

I've definitely felt some movement over the last couple of weeks - nicknamed the baby flappy! As it feels like it's flapping around in there.

Why does pregnancy go so slowly?

Hope everyone is doing okay

Sg x

Fugghetaboutit · 21/07/2015 13:39

I literally took once test this time and that was it until my scan, probably because I felt so rotten. Last time I was obsessed with poas!

rdr15 · 21/07/2015 17:34

Glad u had a better POAS result this morning raeside
Rooibos someone said to me I'd show earlier with a second think it's something to do with your stomach muscles already being stretched. I'm also carrying a bit of baby weight so feel quite unhappy at adding to it. I already look about 16 weeks but unfortunately that is mostly flab thanks to my super unhealthy pregnancy diet.
Need some inspiration for healthy snacks that will help with nausea and give me energy. I don't particularly like seeds or nuts.

SunnyL · 21/07/2015 18:43

Yep I'm also hoping to hide this for as long as possible. I have to retender for my job this year so don't want to have to cause my employers to lie on the tender about my availability. The client is also v unsympathetic about women getting pregnant - she's positively anti babies so I want to avoid coming across as all weak and female.

ThursdayLast · 21/07/2015 18:48

Oops I accidentally told my friends. There goes keeping it quiet til 12 weeks eh? Blush

rdr15 · 21/07/2015 20:34

Thursday I'm really bad at keeping it a secret! My colleagues don't know yet but that's because I've been off for 3 weeks will probably have to tell them when I go back next week.
sunny that's a shame they aren't sympathetic. And being a pregnant woman isn't being weak! It's being incredibly strong and amazing you are growing a little human being! And sometimes that means having to deal with things that make us feel very eurgh.

SunnyL · 21/07/2015 20:57

Yes I know that but unfortunately my client doesn't think that way so instead I'm going to keep quiet until the tender is complete and marked.

I did go to a friends wedding on sat and didn't drink. All night friends were sidling up to me saying things like 'if this is what I think it is I'm very excited for you'. I didn't say a word tho Grin
