Hiya - just thought an alternative place for those of us on our 2nd or more pregnancies might be a good idea. I just found out and already it's very different than the first time!

I'm on #2, EDD 25/3/16, one DS 2yrs and 2 months.

Ha ha i just got really confused with everyone saying 'hi Sarah' as that's actually my name irl!! But hi Sarah!!!

Shirking I was told at my 20w scan that baby was growing 4 days ahead with a larger than average head which is just what every girl wants to hear before they give birth! But my bump is measuring to date so trying not to worry. I know a lot of people who have measured big but gone on to have normal weight babies

sarahpenrose2606 · 06/01/2016 19:19

Hi all. Thanks for welcome. SunnyL , I too hoped it would be due to iron deficiency, but sadly levels are fine so it's just my children wearing me out! When is everyone due? I bought the first baby thing this morning ( just a baby gro) and it started to feel real! Does everyone know boy/girl?

Shirkingfromhome · 06/01/2016 19:49

Have you tried spatone? It's meant to be really good for an extra boost in pregnancy.

I'm due at the end of March (23rd). I've just told ds (2) today that he's going to be a big brother and he said it's ok he can share hiscars!

I bought two vests the other day but have everything else (it's another boy). Did you find out what you're having?

Shirkingfromhome · 06/01/2016 19:51

😱 Brindler bet that was music to your ears! I'm more bothered by the MW traction as she's normally fairly pragmatic (I saw her when I was pregnant with ds). Oh well.

hufflebottom · 06/01/2016 21:10

Ouch Brindler. I've got another growth scan on Friday.

My lovely mother mentioned to me today that she doesn't think I'm going to make it to Feb. That fidget will arrive just as I start maternity. Can I kill her?

SunnyL · 06/01/2016 21:26

I'm not due til late March - one of the last on here.

I've bought a couple of essential things but DD (2.6) was the cutest the other day when she insisted we buy some babygros for 'mummy's baby' cos it will get cold otherwise.

Cue hormonal woman tearing up in boots Blush

hufflebottom · 06/01/2016 21:51

Awww that's adorable. Dd just wants to get her sister a toy

hufflebottom · 09/01/2016 07:53

Had my last growth scan yesterday.
Fidget is doing fine. Head is down.

Now the waiting starts and seeing if my blood pressure stays as low as it has been.

Shirkingfromhome · 09/01/2016 09:51

Wonderful news Huffle not long to go! Fingers crossed for an uneventful last few weeks for you!

Feels like this one is going to punch / kick it's way out - he keeps waking me up. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come Shock

Brindler · 09/01/2016 17:56

Glad all is ok Huffle. How long have you got left?

My feet have grown! Just received the second pair of boots I've ordered in the last couple of weeks that don't fit. So annoying! I'm already a size 7 I don't want to be any bigger!!!

SunnyL · 09/01/2016 18:28

Are you folks buying a fleecy snowsuit type thing for you babies? DD was a June baby and I spent most of my time trying to cool her down but March can often still be pretty cold and often snows up here. Suppose I've just answered my own question tho Hmm

Where do you recommend?

Shirkingfromhome · 09/01/2016 18:56

Ive already got one (DS was born in autumn), it's from debenhams. M&S do a really cosy one link that I lent from my sil when DS outgrew his. They may have some in the shops still?

SunnyL · 09/01/2016 20:18

ha ha - that's the exact one I got DD when she was 6 months!

hufflebottom · 11/01/2016 10:48

I've got 5 1/2 weeks. Shock don't know where the times gone.

I got some snow suits. Only because it snowed when I had dd. And the weather forecast is pretty much the same on the run up.

Have a look in charity shops. I picked one up from there and it was nearly brand new.

Shirkingfromhome · 12/01/2016 10:50

5 1/2 wks?! I'm really excited for everyone else's impending arrivals but then it makes me freak out about my own.

hufflebottom · 12/01/2016 11:03

Snap.

I didn't really have time to think about it with dd. Ended up going to hospital and not coming out until she arrived.

This time I think I may actually go without being induced. Confused

Need to make a plan incase as I'm the only one who drives and my parents are an hour away. I'm guessing a taxi?

Shirkingfromhome · 12/01/2016 11:31

Yep, get a bag packed and get a couple of taxi firm numbers in your phone (make sure you have money for the taxi too)!

Was your labour after your induction quick? If so it might be worth having a few bits ready should you go too far at home. Are your other dc's nursery / school?

hufflebottom · 12/01/2016 11:49

Was just under 24 hrs.

Dd will be at school or my parents if i go to half term. Will have a bag for her at her mates house who has already offered to pick her up should I need her to.

Shirkingfromhome · 12/01/2016 12:20

Sounds like you have it all sorted Smile

hufflebottom · 12/01/2016 12:31

Have dd sorted. Just not me. (Off to sort out hospital bag)

SunnyL · 12/01/2016 16:13

Gosh this is all bringing home the realness.

Quick poll - I may have to go to Cambridge 5 weeks before due date (I'm in Edinburgh). Would you travel that far when that pregnant?

My brother lives in Cambridge and Addenbrooks is obviously a great hospital should anything go wrong. However should I just stay up here and put my feet up?

Shirkingfromhome · 12/01/2016 16:38

Without outing yourself is it work or social? Will you have to drive or get the train? Where are you staying when you're there?

If it was work, but avoidable, and the hotel wasn't great I'd perhaps try and get out of it. Especially if you're driving. I guess it depends how you feel.

hufflebottom · 13/01/2016 07:56

It's a long trip to do. If it's social can you be sneaky and wait and see how you feel up to the day before?

If it's work, I'd probably be telling them it's not a good idea and you don't feel comfortable travelling that far.

Brindler · 13/01/2016 10:12

I'd vote stay at home. Took me 2 hours to commute home from work yesterday and I actually cried!

Fraggleyourock · 13/01/2016 10:55

Hi everyone! Just been catching up! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and new year!!!

Things are going well here! I am shattered though! Doing the waking nights again has come as a bit of a shock...

So, I was 37+4 when I went into labour... Had gone for an afternoon nap with my son, woke up at 13:50 and wasn't sure if I'd had a contraction, told DP that it may have been but I might just need the loo haha! After trying the loo several times (and asking you guys for advice), I went back to dp and told him that I think it is labour and that we should carry on as we were because it could take ages- he goes to work and I'd go to mum's and let him know if I need him. Well, the next contraction really hurt, it felt like it did when I was about 7cm with ds, dp saw it in my body language and said that he was staying home, I let my mum know because she was going to be babysitting.
I was in agony when mum arrived at about 14:45! Thought I was being a total wimp! I had only woken up an hour before not even sure I was having contractions! I kept telling mum how I was definitely having an epidural because I couldn't handle it, I didn't understand how it felt as bad as it did in my late stage of labour with my first, when I must only be a couple of cm dilated! Thought my pain threshold must have just disappeared between labours.
Dp got all the bits together and we set off for the hospital, which on a good day is about 30 minutes away, but it's in our main shopping town, and it was 17th of December, so traffic was horrendous! I am ashamed to say, that after a silent labour with ds, I was a mess this time! I was honestly screaming in the car, window wide open because I needed the rain to hit my face haha! I don't think not being able to move around helped though. But I'm most embarrassed about it.
As we pulled into the hospital I told my dp that I thought I had just pushed. He pulled up outside of the maternity department and I told him he had to go because I couldn't get out of the car. I swing the door open, desperate to get onto that lovely looking wet grass next to me, but it was never going to happen.
Midwives got out there within seconds, my partner was clever enough to phone as he walked in, rather than wait and then explain. The midwife took my trousers down and said there was no head, so I could get in the wheelchair. I said there absolutely was a head and that I couldn't get in, she looked again and saw head was there but was in my waters which is why she didn't see it. My body did its thing and pushed without my consent, twice, and the head was here, then a third push delivered the rest of her.
To give you an idea on how quickly it was, my partner walked around the car to get into the drivers sided for support, and she was born before he got there!
This was at 15:58. My entire 1st and second stage was only 2 hours and 8 minutes. And I had a natural 3rd stage when I got into the hospital that only took a couple of minutes...
Needless to say, I was in total and utter shock for days after haha!

I'm getting so excited about your impending babies, and hearing your labour stories! Xx
