Hiya - just thought an alternative place for those of us on our 2nd or more pregnancies might be a good idea. I just found out and already it's very different than the first time!

I'm on #2, EDD 25/3/16, one DS 2yrs and 2 months.

I have a similar problem with names. DD is determined both her dolly (which she is wearing under her t-shirt) and my baby are called Leo. this is all because she got a nice cuddle off a friends baby called Leo.

DH and I are at stalemate on boys names - there are 2 we like but not 100% sure which one will win.

On the girls names every time we cull one from the list we add 2 more. I think it would be helpful if this baby is a boy.

Shirkingfromhome · 20/11/2015 08:54

I had a good list of girls' names but zero boy names, and there's absolutely no chance this is a girl as we saw all the bits! I'm not letting DS name him, he called his doggy 'barry' (no offence to any Barry's).

hufflebottom · 20/11/2015 09:05

I've got a boys name. But that's no use. I feel mean as DM will offer names and I'm just mmmmm....no.

Might go ask my nan. She's had 4 kids, 8 grandkids and will have 5 great grand daughters (that's assuming my scan was correct). I'm sure she'll have some ideas on baby names she's probably heard enough names in the past. Plus my nan tends to have the best advice.

Fraggleyourock · 20/11/2015 22:22

I have had no internet for what feels like forever!! Great idea to ask nan! My grandma has been writing lists of suggestions ever since I told her I was pregnant... We still haven't come up with anything we really like though... I'll be 34 weeks on Sunday and so the pressure is on! We are moving next weekend as well, it's all chaos here!
LCR, that sounds awful! Got everything crossed that this time it's all a lot easier for you!

hufflebottom · 21/11/2015 13:21

Oh Fraggle good luck with it all.

SunnyL · 21/11/2015 13:54

Blimey - moving house at 34 weeks? I've just spent the morning clearing out 3 wardrobes and have had to have a lie down with a bar of chocolate

Shirkingfromhome · 21/11/2015 15:28

Good luck Fraggle that's going to be some serious nesting when you've moved in!

Fraggleyourock · 22/11/2015 11:00

Thank you... I'm really not looking forward to it, but it will be worth it! I love up four flights of stairs at the moment, so getting out on my own with a just turned 1 year old and a baby will be impossible on my own! I'll be 35 weeks on the Sunday, so my DP is insisting I pack my hospital bag too, as if I don't have enough to do Grin
Hope you're all having a nice weekend!

LCR77 · 25/11/2015 10:48

Good luck Fraggle!

Gah! Waiting for results of my GTT is torture...was expecting a call yesterday pm or this morning. Driving me mad. May have to eat chocolate until they call.

As for names, we think our DD has decided it. A week ago I mentioned a few names to her in the car. All of which DP has dismissed. Then on Friday out of the blue she said we were going to see Etta. This was our second choice name last time, my current favourite and one DP changed his mind on. I've quizzed her about who Etta is and drawn a few blanks but a few times she has said - Etta's mummy, Etta's baby. But when asked what the baby in mummy's tummy name is, we just get Mummy's baby. I think she may have swung it though.

hufflebottom · 25/11/2015 11:24

Awwww that's cute LCR.

What did you do for the long two hrs? I've got mine on Friday. Need some ideas.
Whopping cough jab today, have midwife tomorrow afternoon for 28 week check them have a growth scan tomorrow after school, Dd wants to come and see baby. Then Friday is GTT. This week is busy.

However did get to cancel the scan at the horrible site that was booked for next week. Yay

LCR77 · 25/11/2015 11:53

Glad you got to cancel the horrible site huffle

The 2 hours went quite quickly actually due to a combination of reading my book and playing a game on my phone. Just take plenty to keep you entertained. Treated myself to a coffee and double choc orange muffin after - just in case I have to curb the sweet treats. They still haven't phoned and tempted to call as it will soon no longer be morning...

hufflebottom · 25/11/2015 12:09

Was planning on taking my iPad,gonna download a load of things off player.

Mmmmm, muffin. Yum.

Usually no news is good news. (In theory)

LCR77 · 25/11/2015 13:17

Happy days - results came back normal (I did have to phone - couldn't wait) Likelihood of VBAC much more positive. Such a relief Grin

hufflebottom · 25/11/2015 13:35

Wooo. That's brilliant.

Fraggleyourock · 25/11/2015 22:07

So happy for you LCR!! Really glad you've escaped it! I can't wait to be able to eat sweet things again! Worst time of year for it because the shops are stacked with chocolates and sweets-
First for Halloween and then Christmas lol. Utter torture! I also really love Etta! I've never heard it before! It's a lovely name!
Good luck for all your appointments HUFFLE! I hope you are diabetes free also! Take iPad/good book to keep you occupied!

Anyone else's hospital now have one of those "buy your scan pics here" machines? Bloody expensive!

SunnyL · 26/11/2015 07:19

Buy your scan?? No we had a please make a donation of £1 which the nurses looked quite surprised when we actually did it.

Etta is also lovely - I've got a lot of E names on my list. You may have just added another Smile

Nothing much to report here other than I am expanding at a rate of knots. I had dinner with a friend last night who is due her first a week after me. She looked really slim and lovely so i talked her into eating a sundae so I could feel better about my girth Grin

Fraggleyourock · 26/11/2015 09:02

Yeah! Always had to buy scan pics at my hospital, but it was with the ultrasound technician, and they were a lot cheaper. And she would also give us a couple of extras for free. We also got all of our growth scan pics for free... Well at my last growth scan we had to buy the pic at the machine, £5.50!! Was shocking!! You go and pay, and then go back to the room so the person who did your scan can give you the picture. Absolutely ridiculous!!
I also had a friend due around the same time as me during my first pregnancy, when we fell pregnant I was slimmer than her... She got bad sickness in the beginning and lost loads of weight, I was starving all the time and couldn't stop eating. Now she is super slim and I look like a hippo next to her haha!

hufflebottom · 26/11/2015 09:42

There was a machine to buy them but I've always been given a couple for free. Hoping I do again tonight as dd has asked to take a picture into school tomorrow to show her teacher. (Personally I can't see the teacher actually wanting to see it but she's nice and will get all excited for dd)

Who's had their whooping cough jab? Just want to know if your arm started itching the next day.

Shirkingfromhome · 27/11/2015 19:48

Caught up! Thread dropped of my feed for some reason. Hope everyone's ok?

Pleased you managed to change your site huffle and that your GTT came back ok LCR - great news!

I've got my GTT on 21 dec, it better come back clear or everyone's having salad for Christmas dinner!

We have to pay for ours too but how depends on who scans how generous they're feeling

Have just seen the February's thread update (it was at the top of the topic board), as heading into the last trimester and it's just completely freaked me out! Anyone else feel like they've barely had time to think about this one?

Brindler · 30/11/2015 21:02

Hi everyone how are you all? I must post more often I keep losing the thread too! Shirking I know what you mean about this one going quickly - I was 25 weeks on Sunday so only around 15 weeks to go - that doesn't sound like much at all!

LCR77 · 01/12/2015 12:38

Not had whooping cough jab yet and can't remember from last time. £5 a photo at our hospital too but got a couple free thrown in last time as sonographer had printed them off.

Good luck with your GTT shirking Couldn't you feasibly start the diet after Christmas if it shows up? What difference is a few days going to make?

Yes this time does seem to be going fast, I feel really underprepared and have only bought a blanket so far. Keep having pregnancy related weird dreams. Couple of days ago a dreamt I was carrying dead twins but found out at a scan at some weird Mr Tumble theme park AKA Hell. Then last night I dreamt I had the perfect birth - birthing pool, no pain, pretty quick and it was a boy (even though it's pretty certain it's a girl). Oh and DP's mum hated the name we'd chosen. For someone who barely remembers their dreams this is all pretty odd!

hufflebottom · 02/12/2015 02:03

Fraggle how did you're move go?

SunnyL · 02/12/2015 06:05

Has anyone actually bought anything for baby yet?

So far I managed some bottles.

I almost bought a v cute pram suit last week but it was in white company so was stupidly expensive and I couldn't bring myself to spend money on something that will just be pooped and puked on.

hufflebottom · 02/12/2015 07:53

Got bottles, pram (bought off a mate), steriliser, change mate. Did get a couple of jackets. Otherwise got lots of clothes from dd.

Just need to get a crib, and a new changing bag. As blood pressure is going up I've decided I want to get everything done for when I start maternity leave just in case.

hufflebottom · 02/12/2015 07:54

Mat not mate.

Did get a nice jacket in a charity shop for £2. Barely worn.
