there are so annoying arn't they especially when they make you feel queasy and achey in your neck Sad wonder why they even happen? Hmm

lilyb84 · 21/07/2015 23:33

Yes, mrsfaz, on and off since a migraine at 10 weeks, so nearly four weeks now. Paracetamol does eff all, sleep doesn't seem to make a difference... Hope you get some relief soon! My GP said if it goes on for more than a couple of weeks and paracetamol isn't working to go back so maybe similar advice for everyone else? I've heard they're quite common, wahey.

coffeenut · 22/07/2015 00:46

Headaches very common. My doctor says it partly hormones but also be careful how you sit (eg at a computer) and how you hold your neck as the hormones will make muscles/tendons lax and you're more prone to aches and pains.

oyster it's totally Alien. Especially when you can see see them move under your skin. Last time I was pregnant, the movie Prometheus came out ... not a good one to watch at 30 plus weeks.

DD1 was two and a half when DD2 was born. I had to really convince DH to get a P&T, and I'm so glad I did. We got the latest, lightest, smallest P&T at the time as we didn't want a huge double buggy. I didn't use it for the first few months (I agree that they are no good with newborns) but instead used the carrycot attachment on the Icandy Cherry for DD2 and DD1 just walked (we didnt really go far for the first few months anyway). P&T invaluable after that for probably the first year after, by which stage DD1 was walking everywhere. I don't think for long walking/shopping trips that she would have coped with a buggy board alone. Using mainly the Cherry with stroller attachment now for DD2 as it's much lighter and easier to use in the city and to fold up for the car than the P&T. The P&T is saved for walks to the park, trips over rough ground etc etc. Will definitely be using both the Cherry and the P&T again when DS is born.

Good luck for scans today everyone!

Good luck for scans today!!!!
Oh headache :( yesterday I thought I was developing a migraine for the first time in my life! Not good!

MissMartin10 · 22/07/2015 09:18

get well soon mrsfaz Thanks

im so excited and nervous for the scan that i feel sick (probably the ms) i have no idea why!
I hope i have a experienced nurse for taking my blood... i want it done asfast as possible I've already warned dp I'll cry before they do it Confused even though i know it won't hurt!

tinyme135 · 22/07/2015 09:25

I suffer with migraines anyway so I gotta see a consultant at another hospital to see what I'm allowed to take but I find sleep doesn't help one bit and paracetamol helps for about 5 mins and it gets worse. I try wearing my glasses (optician said wearing them will help reduce them) pft they don't do nothing at all.

SleepyDragon · 22/07/2015 09:42

Morning All

My headache from yesterday has finally gone, i didn't take any paracetamol but i did use my '4head' stick which always helps and then i had a power shower beating down on my head..... hopefully it'll stay away as its cooler today too so the air is less humid (23 degrees)

good luck for all scans! MissM you'll be fine hun, i felt petrified when going for mine and was so relieved to finally see JellyBean..... you've already seen your little one so you're just waiting to say 'hello' again x

lutrinae · 22/07/2015 09:42

Welcome Zipporah!
And good luck to all with scans today.

Yes to the headaches. Ugh, there is just no getting rid of them.
I am currently typing (working from home) with terrible posture while some workmen in my house bang away extremely loudly downstairs. Not helping!
I probably need glasses too but I am ignoring that.

Also DS is in the terrible twos and extremely wilful at the moment - this morning he had a tantrum because I wrapped his nappy up before he could get a look at his poo. Gross.

MissMartin10 · 22/07/2015 09:56

kep1979 · 22/07/2015 10:18

mrsfaz I sympathise, I have a headache again today and paracetamol does nothing Sad I find a hot water bottle on the back of the neck/head does help as it releases the muscles at the top of my shoulders/back of neck. Apart from that I have no cures seeing as I cannot resort to my beloved cocodamol (I'm a regular migraine sufferer).

I am really achy today - my back hurts, and my calves ache. I think I'm going to work from home tomorrow so I can stay horizontal whilst working.

Good luck for those who have scans today.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 22/07/2015 11:01

Hi all, I've been missing in action as just been so busy at end of term. Had short hospital stay due to dehydration plus some bleeding so had to have anti-d injection but otherwise fine. Scan was brill. Hope all is well with everyone else. Can't see myself having time to catch up on all the threads I've missed...

mrschatty · 22/07/2015 14:37

Wonderful news on your scans everyone xxx

mrschatty · 22/07/2015 19:56

I don't know why I thought this would be a good idea but watching that bbc drama 'don't take my baby' I'm sobbing!! Anyone else seen it?

mrsfazruns · 23/07/2015 17:47

Feeling much better today after a 4 hour sleep yesterday and 4 litres of water!! Even managed a spinning session!!

Congrats on the scans .,,, can't wait till 20 weeks to see it again!!

loveulotslikejellytots · 24/07/2015 19:47

Wow! You lot have been busy! I've not been on for a little while. Had DH's 30th Birthday weekend, so lots going on. Then we've had a week off together which has been lovely. Haven't done a lot but it's been nice just spending some time together, plus we've booked a holiday! Going to Tenerife in September which we're both looking forward to.

Had my 20 week scan letter through, 15th August! Only 3 weeks away!! We went out on our Anniversary last week and bought one outfit, but the choice of neutral clothes wasn't great. So we're definitly going to find out the sex.

We went to John Lewis on our anniversary day out and I think we're going for the uppababy vista. DH loved it too, really light, folds up well (we do have a big boot though) and steers well one handed for dog walking. Olus it seems quite sturdy so will hopefully do this one and any others we have. I love the chicco bed side sleeper too. We have been given a moses basket and stand so we'll get a new matress for that as well and keep that downstairs. We're not buying anything until after the 20 week scan but I like having things clear in my head! Always planning...
