Struggling with sickness today. It all started at 10 weeks so thought I'd got away with it now I'm 14 and it's getting worse! Luckily I can work from home but it's hard to concentrate when you're retching. I slept for 10 hours, got ready for work then lay down and slept for another 2! Think baby is trying to tell me something?!

kep1979 · 21/07/2015 10:41

sleepy I had the opposite.... I quite literally jumped dh on Sunday as we hadn't dtd since bfp.... and woke up yesterday with no headache for the first time in weeks! We were both a bit worried afterwards as our mc last time started the day after dtd for the first time, even though we know that it wasn't the sex that caused it.

TeenieDeenie · 21/07/2015 10:49

Fourlegs I'm so sorry you're having this worry. I hope baby settles so they can get a clear picture and check markers as you say. FX for you. Let us know how you get on.

mrsfazruns · 21/07/2015 11:02

I have a bump question!! I can feel my bump as a big Melon sized lump. Just below my belly button ... But it sits more to the right hand size .... Feel like I'm going to be lopsided lol

SleepyDragon · 21/07/2015 11:22

I had that the other night MrsF i kept feeling like i was going to fall off the bed!

MissMartin10 · 21/07/2015 11:24

fourlegs sorry to hear your worrying news! you must be so worried, from what I've read people with turners go on to lead normal happy healthy lives.. try and keep positive lovely Thanks xx

MissMartin10 · 21/07/2015 11:27

on the DTD front.. were back to normal now since 12weeks... everyother day.. and its never been better Blush
dtd at the start of pregnancy gave me spotting and horrible af cramps now its all back to normal Grin Dp is happy!

SleepyDragon · 21/07/2015 11:28

ha Kep looks like we've traded places! lol

have to say DH was very unsure at first he kept asking if i was sure it was alright..... (not the sex i hasten to add, the bubba LOL)

lilyb84 · 21/07/2015 11:38

Headache here this morning too, chugging water to try to shift it! Also have had constant stretching-type cramps since yesterday afternoon, some of them pretty sharp. Currently eating an ice lolly to comfort / distract myself (working from home for no other reason than I could, and had waay too long a lie in...).

lutrinae thanks for the suggestion yesterday of paying NCT costs in installments. I think it'll still be a bit beyond our means as I'm putting every spare penny into savings so I can afford mat leave - but more than that, not being the most sociable person in the world, I worry that I wouldn't make the best use of the money, if that makes sense. I'm planning on going to local groups and activities once the baby's here, and hopefully some pregnancy yoga in the next few months if I can find a good, affordable class.

For those struggling to exercise, I haven't done a thing all year since my BFP and yesterday had to stand on a tube escalator for the first time maybe ever... thinking it's maybe time to step up the activity?!

fishermanswife1 · 21/07/2015 12:24

So sorry for your worry fourlegs. I didn't even realise harmony couldtest for Turners. We specifically said we only wanted to know about Downs, Edward's or Pacau. So maybe they didn't tell us all the potions.

Just had our harmony phone call. All low risk, less than 1 in 10,000 for all three. Which was a big relief after the 1 in 91 result we had from NT despite my age (28) and 1.4mm fold measurement. Now just got to figure out what's going on with my wayward placenta. Apparently it's pumping out 50 times more hcg than it should! Which could affect bean's growth and development. Though (s)he seems fine at the mo. Just looks like they'll need to scan me every 2-4 weeks instead to monitor growth.

lilyb84 · 21/07/2015 12:28

Glad to hear you've had a much more positive result from Harmony, fisher. Although sorry your placenta is still a medical mystery!

Romeolovesjuliet · 21/07/2015 12:47

So sorry things are so worrying for you at the moment fourlegs - I hope your scan is able to give you at least a little reassurance if there are no markers.
Great news fisher although it must be frustrating to still not know what is causing the raised hcg.
Another one here with weight/food issues as a teenager but have never really left me although I am as close to normal now than I think I ever will be. I'm still going to gym but only once a week and not running, just doing low intensity/impact. I plan to swim once I get a bit bigger. My body is forever changed though after 2, soon to be 3 children and it does get me down but I am determined not to pass my insecurities onto my DD.
Quick q to those of you for whom this will be baby number 3+ (I think there are a few of us). Am I mad to try and get away with a single buggy and buggy board? Had a double for DD and DS but age gap is 19 months. This time the gap will be 2 yrs 3 months between youngest and DD will be coming up to 4. She is a good walker but does still use the buggy board. I can't decide whether DS will be too young to just rely on the buggy board and whether DD will still need it from time to time. I don't know why I'm obsessing over this now as I have no intention of buying anything until at least 20 wks but original plan was to sell P&t and borrow friend's donkey but she now wants to sell it as not using it anymore. Still want to get rid of P&t as not a fan

tinyme135 · 21/07/2015 12:47

This is embarrassing Blush I just had to go and buy myself a stretchy dress cause my button popped on my trousers cause my bump won't stop growing.

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/07/2015 12:55

Glad to hear your positive harmony results fish.

Those of you well into the 2nd trimester, have you had this alleged burst of energy yet? I'm 16+3 and seem to be getting more tired every day, I actually think it's worse than in the 1st trimester! Im off work today and yesterday, had a nice light workout in the gym yesterday and slept for 9-10 hours last night, done nothing all day other than lounging but I'm still so tired! And it's not a physical tiredness that I can blame on the gym it's very much a sleepy tired. Dreading going to work tomorrow as I've got a complex report to write which is hard enough when I'm not tired! Nothing to do with iron levels either as they were all normal. Boo.

SleepyDragon · 21/07/2015 13:02

Looking i'm not weell into it but i am 14+5 and i'm still struggling to do anything as i'm still knackered all the time

i'm hoping the burst of energy comes soon as i can't even be bothered to hoover the flat etc (although i am doing i'm just so tired when i've done it lol)

lilyb84 · 21/07/2015 13:04

I had a burst of energy for the past 2-3 weeks but am back to exhausted again at 13+4...

tinyme135 · 21/07/2015 13:14

I'm 15+2 and I'm not half as tired as I was but I'm someone who could only half 5 hours sleep on a Friday night get up half 7 and not go to sleep till 4 tye next morning cause I was out clubbing. Now I'm in bed for 9 and moan when I have to wake up for work.

EdgarAllenPoe · 21/07/2015 13:16

I'm a lot more energetic than I was, but I did feel really tired all the time for a lot of the first trimester. Managed to stain all the gates and fences in our garden at the weekend, so I can't be doing that badly. I wouldn't call it a 'burst' of energy though. More a getting through it with minimum level of energy required. Not gotten this mythical 'glow' yet either. Hmm

fourlegstwolegs · 21/07/2015 13:18

Fisher I'm glad you got good results. How odd about the hgc though....

I did know they tested for Turner's but thought that would be the least of my worries - given my age, (nearly 38) Downs was the primary concern.

Glad everyone else is doing well. Hopefully I will calm down in a few days!

SleepyDragon · 21/07/2015 13:29

Edgar thats my only good thing so far - everyone has said i've been 'glowing' right from the start. Even those who had no idead i am pregnant have said from about the 2nd week 'you look really different, and prettier all glowy'

i told them it was down to my new blusher lol

AlohaMama · 21/07/2015 14:09

Sorry for your worrying results fourlegs. I hope you're able to get good support while you plan for what to do next.

Glad things seem ok with you fisher though it is crazy that your hcg levels are 50x. I'm sure they are all busy scratching their heads.

romeo I'm not getting a double. I had P&T with my first two (gap was 2y3mo) and hardly used it as DS just wanted to walk. But it helps that he is pretty sensible around traffic. DD is currently 2 y 1 mo - if the next one was due now I would definitely have a double, as I do not trust her at all, she is very independent/strong willed and would run away. I use the buggy to constrain her on many an occasion. However as we've got another 5+ months to go, I'm hoping she will have settled down by then. I'm expecting to carry the baby in a wrap/carrier a lot initially, then hopefully by the time it's too heavy DD will be more trustworthy to walk. If we're out on walks I have a BOB revolution jogging stroller which has a big footwell, so if both kids get tired one of them can perch on the front for a little bit. I'm sure there are times I'll wish I had a double, but having sold the P&T a year ago, I can't bring myself to fork out more money for yet another pushchair!!

Yokyil · 21/07/2015 14:20

looking I'm the same 16+4 here and no signs of the burst of energy - I'm in bed early and even after napping can still get a proper full nights sleep okay after! The glow has yet to descend as well...lovely purple skin has been on board from about 8 weeks, skin has never been overly good but mainly my T zone but since the pregnancy kicked in both cheeks have this purple acne look off them, looks awful Envy

SleepyDragon · 21/07/2015 14:59

Anyone heard the theory/myth that is you have bad skin you're having a girl as 'a girl steals her mothers beauty'

its a gem i cam across today, so if you're glowy you're having a boy

Does anyone who knows which team they are, relate to this? lol!

kep1979 · 21/07/2015 15:06

I have had pretty shitty skin this time around, and am having a girl, whereas with my boys my skin was fine. However, I was 10 years younger then, and post-30 my skin got pretty dodgy and hormonal (I have PCOS too), so not sure it is indicative. My sickness has been pretty much the same this time as it was with the boys.

fisher glad you got good news, and good that they are keeping an eye on you.

No sign of extra energy here either - 14+4 and still shattered. Only an hour and a half left until hometime!

mrsfazruns · 21/07/2015 15:21

No. Sign of energy here .... Got up and 10 and now going for a nap! Still got banging headache and had cramps for the past hour!! Maybe baby is growing
