Great news on heart beat Haquoi!

I am so relieved it's Friday. I have been a dragon teacher this afternoon!

Does anyone else sometimes feel (despite the exhaustion) that this whole thing is dreamt up or the tests/scans have made a mistake?! It still seems very surreal to me, I think it's the not telling anyone & worrying about miscarriage. I feel as though time as literally stood still since the first positive pregnancy test!

StockingFullOfCoal · 26/06/2015 16:16

ratty Yes yes! Playing with prams today helped Grin I've fallen in love with the egg and the Buffalo. Both quite pricey. Whoops.

Just been catching up - love all the happy scan news - so great to see beans doing well! Smile
We moved house this week - spent all day sloping off to throw up and hardly helped at all.
My poor OH, I have the complexion of a teenage zombie, cry at everything (a dead bee in the garden?!) and suspect I smell slightly of vomit despite obsessively cleaning my teeth.....

Brummiegirl15 · 26/06/2015 17:44

Had my cervix scan appt and consultant appt through for when I'm 13+5

Feel rather rough today it has to be said

How are you doing Isla hope the 8 week fear isn't getting to you too much. I defo agree with Purdie about getting an early scan if you can

IslaMann · 26/06/2015 17:50

Thanks Brummie, as per my previous post have booked scan for Tues. We had a think and knew if money wasn't an issue we'd have already booked one just for reassurance.

Brummiegirl15 · 26/06/2015 18:56

Ah missed that! Glad it's sorted, hope it will ease your fears

Rufus200 · 26/06/2015 19:28

I've been so nauseous all day. The worst thing is burping after eating, when the nausea has returned and having stinky burps making it worse. Made the mistake of having a bite of DH's sausage sandwich last night, I won't be eating sausages for the rest of my pregnancy, the burps were disgusting!

Mirabal · 26/06/2015 19:56

Urgh sick in kitchen sick while trying to cook dd some dinner , despite having strategic bowl of cereal half hour before. Was no stopping this one.

Laquila · 26/06/2015 20:27

Hello all, I'm new to this thread - found out on Fathers' Day (when I was about 4 days late) that I was pregnant and am now 5+1.

It took us a year to conceive our first child (now 22 months) and this time I got pregnant the first time we had unprotected sex so we're a bit spaced out - definitely hasn't sunk in yet!

I don't have any nausea but am embarrassingly windy...also I can't remember a thing about the logistica of the appointments last time - so I have to go to the docs so they can make me a midwife appt? Is that the booking-in?? How can I have forgotten all this?!

AbFab86 · 26/06/2015 20:49

Congrats haquoi, that's brilliant news Smile Got my 7 week scan on Wednesday. Would be lovely to hear a heartbeat.

NoMontagues · 26/06/2015 21:00

Hi all. Page five of new thread already, huh?

haquoi congratulations! That's fantastic.

Boobear1983 · 26/06/2015 21:06

I haven't posted in a while but I've been lurking. Nausea and tiredness have got me but today I've been quite crampy.

isla I'm having a scan on tuesday too

twinsandapenguin · 26/06/2015 21:43

Also not posting much as too tired and dd is keeping me too busy, but I am in the tuesday scan club too!

Tiredoftiredness · 26/06/2015 21:45

Welcome & congrats laquila!

I've been having dizzy spells all day which is fun, everything started going black at the shops earlier, really thought I was going to faint. Eating a ridiculous amount to keep myself non nauseous and non fainty.

Also think I spotted some chicken pox spots on DS's back at bedtime, so now worrying about that & what happens if I get it. Joy!

Raaaaaah · 26/06/2015 21:59

Does anyone london based have any recomendations for private ultrasound clinics? My preferred choice is over booked for next week. I thought everyone would be supersticious like me and leave it until the last minute...clearly not!

Raaaaaah · 26/06/2015 22:02

Sorry, congrats Laquila. So tired that i have clearly lost any ability to do social niceties Smile.

I honestly cannot imagine how the vommers of the group are coping. Urgh, you poor folk.

QuackQuackers · 26/06/2015 22:06

raaaah fmc on Harley street would be my first choice.

So I've been sick twice today. That's twice more than in my last pregnancy Sad Sad Sad

Raaaaaah · 26/06/2015 22:32

Ha, that was my first choice Quack. I think might just wait a week and still use them. Thank you.

Bosabosa · 26/06/2015 22:35

Hello all, been out and about today and feeling surprisingly good (which clearly I then worry about-I keep fondling boobs for reassurance).
I too have been eating to keep nausea at bay-fish n chips today- really hope I do not regret it!

Congrats Laquilla and haquoi!!

Zookeeper73 · 27/06/2015 01:22

Ratty, yes, I am the same! It's been two weeks now since I found out but I still don't think it has sunk in!

eggsnbeans · 27/06/2015 03:27

Tired - have you had the pox? If yes then don't worry about catching it from ds (very unusual to catch twice) and really only a problem near term anyway where it can be passed to baby. If you haven't had it go to Dr and ask for a titre to be done to see ifyou are immune!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 27/06/2015 06:18

Greetings laquila and congrats on the heartbeat haquoi
I'm back at home visiting my sister which is lovely although yesterday's traffic and 8 and a half hour journey wasn't much fun. No questions asked about my lack of drinking but I had to be quite serruptitious about avoiding runny cheese and meringue. Bless them though we gave a no prying tendancy in the family and I'm very grateful for it at the moment Smile

primarynoodle · 27/06/2015 07:04

can we not eat meringue?!

on route to work - 18 hour shift today, i dont know how im not going to fall asleep!!

rallytog1 · 27/06/2015 07:26

Meringues are totally fine if shop bought. If home made, they need to be made with lion stamped eggs (which most shop-bought eggs are).

The whole thing about working out what we can and can't eat is getting faintly ridiculous - the info in my maternity notes completely contradicts the NHS website info, even though they're ostensibly from the same source. I'm being much more relaxed and less strict about things this time around (I did some reading into the research behind the recommendations and most of the risks are minimal) but it's so confusing to be given so much conflicting information. It made my sil really anxious in her first pregnancy - she was afraid to eat almost anything.

purdiepipesup · 27/06/2015 07:38

Hurrah for Haquoi's heir's hale heartbeat (see what I did there?)!

Blimey, I had always thought weddings were tedious as Shit but having to endure Catholic nuptials sober is excruciating. Why do people have shit DJs? Just put your iPod on shuffle with a mix of Foo Fighter, Michael Jackson and Daft Punk, innit.
