We've just got back from a caravan park holiday. There were loads of families with tiny tots and newborns there. It would be a great place to go back to next year with Bean, loads of entertainment for little ones. But I did feel like an old preggo. All the mums and dads there looked much younger than us. Felt a bit concious of being an older mum there. I know there are plenty of older mums out there but where do they holiday?!

Metalhead · 12/09/2015 19:27

Wow, I am jealous cheshire, 30 September is so close! When is your due date again?

I'm also feeling huge, and have been feeling a bit nauseous again this week mrsdiddly. That's on top of the constipation, piles, backache, headache, nose bleeds, getting out of breath... I can't wait to feel normal again!

I need to get a fitness to fly letter from the midwives on Monday as we're going to see my family next weekend and apparently you need a letter to prove your due date from 28 weeks. Thankfully it's only a short flight.

Cheshirehello79 · 13/09/2015 19:08

metal I'm due 3rd dec.

Nausea has officially kick back in and feeling terribly ill. Had GTT test on Friday due to family history and it was awful. They take your bloods then make you drink a bottle and a half of lucozade and you wait for 2 hours then more bloods. With the nausea officially back on - never felt so sick but thank godness didn't throw up as they would have had to abort the test.

After terrible swelling of my feet after my travels my midwife has recommended that I inject myself celaxine to avoid blood clots so i now feel like a druggie injecting myself once a day - it stings but prevention is better than cure.

I'm now officially third trimester and begining to feel I'm not sure if I can cope the next 12 weeks till d day.

My moods have changed and just feel off all the time or feeling sorry for myself - my midwife said its normal .

Looking forward to finishing work and decorating the nursery. My friends were going to surprise me and do a surprise baby shower but cancelled the invite so they had to tell me their plans:-( but the way I'm currently feeling I told them just to leave me a lone as I might end up being the most moody person and don't want to feel ungrateful.

Anyone feeling the same or just me ?

chopsface · 13/09/2015 23:15

Oh Cheshire, sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly all of a sudden. I hope it's not in for the remaining weeks. The blood test sounds horrible, I don't think I'll be getting it though as I'm not at risk for diabetes.

I've been feeling alright actually, almost human! Bit of nausea today though for some reason. Apart from that the last 2 weeks or so I've been eating normally and rarely need to snack between meals, but still have a handbag stash just in case! What's bugging me the most is extreme tiredness! Had to have a 2 hour afternoon nap one day last week on my hols! And the day we crossed 2 fields and a couple of stiles (!) from the caravan park to the nearest village I thought I was going to die! Dreading going back to work this week too. 8 weeks til maternity leave, can't come soon enough!

Another thing... I can't sleep!!! I get up 3 or 4 times every night to pee. I can't lie on one side or the other too long as I get pins and needles in my arms. Everytime I turn over I get tangled up in my maternity pillow and have to readjust. It's a nightmare. Sleepless nights with a tot I'm now kinda prepared for. Is this the point do you think?

Metalhead · 14/09/2015 13:15

Cheshire I keep feeling sorry for myself too and can get quite irritable with DH, though I try and keep it under wraps as I know it's not just my hormones. I met up with some friends who I hadn't seen for a while yesterday, and while it was lovely to catch up I was exhausted afterwards!

chops I'm with you on the night time peeing. I also don't really get on with my maternity pillow, usually chuck it out of bed halfway through the night...

Has anyone had the whooping cough jab yet? I asked the midwife about it today and apparently I have to ring my GP surgery to make an appointment with them.

chopsface · 14/09/2015 14:55

I have my 28 week appointment next week so I'll ask about the whooping cough jab then. I wonder when we get offered the flu jab too. I always get it in work every year though as I'm NHS staff. It's probably easier for me to get it at work rather than get to the GP surgery.

Excited about Saturday coming, meeting up with 6 (?) of my TTC group buddies in my home city for afternoon tea Grin. As its not our AN group we are all different stages from 19 weeks up to 32 weeks Shock

pizzakat · 15/09/2015 08:08

I had my whooping cough vaccine Friday gone at 28+1 and was fine initially but my arm was aching all weekend I had to take it off work (no way to carry masses of heavy plates with sciatica and one unusable arm)

But I'd say by Monday night it was back to normal

SnozzberryPie · 15/09/2015 12:18

Does anyone know if I need to have the whooping cough vaccine again as I had it in my last pregnancy about three years ago? I am booked in for a flu jab but not had whooping cough this time.

Chops I would double check if your work will give you the flu jab. Last time around there was a shortage of flu vaccines and I couldn't get one on the nhs in time, so I went to boots to get it done privately, and they said they wouldn't do it as if you are pregnant it can only be done under medical supervision Confused

chopsface · 15/09/2015 12:23

Thanks snozz they do usually do the 'front line' staff first and we go if there is any left over. Dh said there is a drop in clinic on a Saturday morning coming up at our GP surgery. He was going to go to that as he is eligible (asthma) so I'll go with him.

Cheshirehello79 · 15/09/2015 15:40

My life just gets better!

I've got the worst cold in the world and with my current moods I feel like sitting everything and everyone down until birth. I'm not getting whooping cough vaccine as I've heard mixed feedback about it I'll have the baby have it after birth to built its own immune system.

Definetly need flu jab - going for 30 weeks growth scan on the 30th sept ( last day working) and will ask about it.

Got my pram and car seat delivered today so was a bit excited and then the excitement went after an hour( what's wrong with me) !!!??????

Baby kicking constantly now and waiting to catch a glimpse of foot or hand popping off my belly if I can see it - I'm that huge now.

Hope you're all feeling excited soon reaching 3rd trimester - time has flown

Metalhead · 16/09/2015 12:09

Just had my scan and all is looking good, growth is still on track. Also spoke to the consultant (as opposed to some junior doctor) about my request for an ELCS, and she was much more sympathetic and basically said that while she would recommend a vaginal birth she will support my decision, so that's a weight off my mind! Just got to wait until 34 weeks now to sign the paperwork and get a date.

Cheshire I hope you're feeling a bit better today. I hate having colds, always feel totally miserable with them. I never saw any hands or feet from the outside with DD1 so I'm not expecting it this time either (would freak me out a bit actually!).

Not sure about the whooping cough vaccine snozz, probably best to ask your GP/midwife.

Cheshirehello79 · 16/09/2015 20:56

Still got the cold the fact that I can't take anything for it apart from rubbing Vicks is prolonging it.

I've joine one to one midwives services not sure if it available everywhere in the country but it's great nhs funded but they come to your home and do everything . We sat down yesterday evening listened to baby's heart beat at my own comfort, did all test ( urine) that you do with your midwife and it was so relaxing. I still go to all my appointments in hospital but they are there for 121 support and come dday they come to your home and help out until when you're ready to go to hospital.

I

SnozzberryPie · 16/09/2015 21:25

Sorry you're still feeling rubbish Cheshire. Flowers

Can you have hot honey and lemon for the cold?

Heartburn has hit me this week and I had forgotten how horrible it is. I am going to the midwife tomorrow and will ask her to prescribe me gaviscon by the gallon.

Ah well, the good thing about late pregnancy is that it's bad enough to make you look forward to giving birth Grin

chopsface · 17/09/2015 07:41

Sorry to hear you're still unwell Cheshire I hope you are lying on the sofa doing completely nothing as that gets rid of a cold much faster than ploughing on with work/life etc.

I'm finding work harder now, I'm knackered :-( getting up early, doing 8 hours, coming home.... The up to an hour communte either way! Argh! Roll on weekends! Although we have a few busy ones coming up, family do's etc. It's a hard life!

mrsdiddlydoo · 17/09/2015 13:22

Almost the final trimester. So close yet feels so far away as well.

I've been feeling shite. Nausea. tired bloody, massively ridiculously exhausted and I'm so fed up with my altered sense of taste.

Hope the cold sods off soon Cheshire

I think about a hundred... OK slight exaggeration... Quite a lot of people have been asking me when I'm due to finish work. Has actually got me thinking about it. I say end of Nov but I think mid Nov is more like it the rate I'm going. Toddler, work and being pregnant is so much tougher than I thought it would be.

Had a funny turn last night. Hot and dizzy. Had eaten properly but wonder if it was my blood pressure or anaemia perhaps. Plan to see how I go and call me or gp next week if it happens again.

Is it just me but I've been trying to get my Xmas shopping done so I have one less thing to worry about.

Oh and yes... Fed up of peeing in the night. What a moan I'm having. Sorry ladies. Definitely looking forward to the end now. I'm grateful for being pregnant but I do not blossum during pregnancy...

Cheshirehello79 · 17/09/2015 21:15

Mrs didd I've told everyone no Christmas from me this year - well the baby is my gift ;-)

Still full of cold now turned into a bloody cough arrgggggggrrr! My taste has gone as well Mrs didd ( had this on first trimester) well the cold doesn't help. People are still saying my bump is really small for 29 weeks - freaking me out ! So can't wait for 30 weeks growth scan to find out how the baby is growing.

I'm officially winding down now got 2 weeks till I finish work - can't wait

I've now got a lovely dressing gown from m&s 20% discount and 2 nighties ready to sort out hospital bag.

Can't believe come next week will be officially 6 weeks until full term ( 36 weeks) it seems like forrreeerrrvvveerrr !

chopsface · 22/09/2015 07:06
