Welcome back metal hope you had lovely hols. How's baby movements - mine are quite regular now but still can't tell the pattern .

Great that more people are joining glad to see you all here :-)

mrsdiddlydoo · 10/08/2015 19:01

chops not glad you were sick but pleased I'm not alone in the crap sickness returning when I over do it. Had a nightmare day feeling sick as a dog and failed to look after DS very well but very grateful to cbeebies for taking care of him today.

Welcome bunting!

I still don't feel regular movements but generally feel something most days. Eventually anyway...

Metalhead · 10/08/2015 20:55

Sorry you're feeling sick again chops and mrsdiddly. I was fine all week on holiday but first day back today and got a terrible headache again - I think I must be allergic to work...!

I get quite a lot of movements most days now, but some days she's still quieter than others and there is no definitive pattern yet. Most days I feel her in the morning, then after lunch and again after dinner, but sometimes it's just at random times during the day.

chopsface · 10/08/2015 21:59

Welcome bunting!

Sorry you're still feeling poo too mrsdiddly

I feel bean after meals too :-) he likes food ;-)

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 11/08/2015 12:05

Mine goes crazy after meals. DD has been enjoying feeling him or her kick her hand when she presses my tummy which is great as she hated the idea of a new baby at the start

SnozzberryPie · 11/08/2015 21:55

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Sorry to hear people are feeling sick still Flowers

I am feeling a lot of movement compared to my first pregnancy. I have had an anterior placenta both times but apparently this time it is quite low down too. Or maybe this baby is just more wriggly!

blueskygreengrass · 12/08/2015 10:54

Morning all! Thanks mrsdiddlydoo and sharonthewasp for your wise words about nursery/schools - has put my mind at rest/reality check!

Sorry to hear some ladies are still feeling sick. I'm pretty much through, although got stuck on an incredibly hot tube train and started to panic that I was gonna throw up because of the heat. Bus from now on!

Is anyone having trouble with leg cramps at night? I had these occasionally before pg but they're more frequent now and incredibly painful - feels like your calf is being pulled off. I'm sleeping with a pillow between my knees to keep elevated, but doesn't always help. Any tips? I'm swimming fairly regularly for circulation (need a maternity cossie now, as I gave the lifeguard an eyefull the other day - which amused me, as having such boobs is a novelty). Keeping an eye on two veins in both legs that seem to be threatening to go varicose on me.

SnozzberryPie · 12/08/2015 12:56

Bluesky I had them in my last pregnancy although touch wood haven't had them yet. Apparently drinking lots of water and eating bananas might help. If you feel one coming on then you can flex your foot which makes it go away more quickly.

I have horrible varicose veins Sad all on my right leg and they are sore as well as ugly.

Metalhead · 13/08/2015 09:32

I don't have leg cramps but also struggling to get a good nights sleep as I can't get comfortable and have to get up to wee at least twice every night.

I usually do volunteering on a Thursday but might have to knock it on the head soon, I'm so exhausted all the time that I'd rather just spend the day on the sofa... already phoned in today to say I'm coming in later as I couldn't face a whole day.

chopsface · 13/08/2015 17:44

Only had bad cramp once so far, but a few close calls I've managed to disperse. Scared dh half to death when I suddenly lept out of bed with the pain though! He thought there was something wrong with the baby! No dodgy veins yet either. But I do have some piles Confused oh the glamour!!

God I hate the bus journey home, feel sicker with every roundabout, boak

mrsdiddlydoo · 13/08/2015 18:56

I sometimes get restless or prickly legs at night. Trying to stay hydrated and bananas are meant to help. Can be a sign you're low on iron too. I've had a couple of rough nights with it but not too bad so far. Once heard magnesium can help too but can't remember if it was a spray or supplement...

metal I'm so exhausted its ridiculous... Not helped by then not sleeping well.

Cheshirehello79 · 13/08/2015 19:39

I've not had bad craps but I remember my midwife saying when she recommended sleeping with pillow between your legs that - that is caused by poor blood circulation. Get yourself one of those wooden massage things and try to stimulate your legs very so often you could walk around with it and use it at work too heard it does help.

Metal - I've been feeling so exhausted too in fact was in London today for work meetings and the train journey there (1.40min) was a pain I ended up being sick as well as felt needed fresh air - it feels like I'm starting to get travel sickness . Nearly pressed the emergency call in toilet this morning as felt I was going to pass out . Thanks to my mind the bump badge this old fella asked me if I was ok as I felt and looked terrible. Looks like my travelling days are coming to an end until post beanie.

SnozzberryPie · 13/08/2015 21:00

Bad craps Grin. Sorry.

Cheshirehello79 · 13/08/2015 21:11

Haha - I blame predictive text :-)

Metalhead · 13/08/2015 21:50

Ha, that made me chuckle cheshire!

I just read that tiredness and peeing a lot can be a sign of gestational diabetes. I also get a dry mouth sometimes, which apparently is another sign. Might have to ring the midwives tomorrow to ask if I should be concerned... Confused

Cheshirehello79 · 13/08/2015 21:59

When is your next mw appointment metal mines next week and I'll ask the question . I don't pie a lot though just tiredness and just today been sick and the travel sickness . It's more like if I don't get fresh air I feel light headed

Cheshirehello79 · 14/08/2015 00:15

Just been sick again and now restless :-(

chopsface · 14/08/2015 07:43

Oh Cheshire sorry to hear you've had a bad day hun :-( hope today goes better for you and you have a relaxing weekend x

I've started to get 'travel sick' too on the bus home from work. Can't bear to look at my phone anymore and I think it's the engine vibrations in the seat, plus all the roundabouts! Also feeling shattered, no matter what time I go to bed. And there is the wee breaks and trying to get comfy lying in my side and getting pins and needles in my arms!

Metalhead · 14/08/2015 08:26

I've not got any more appointments until 28 weeks cheshire. DH had a go at me when I mentioned GD last night as apparently I'm being paranoid... Angry Anyone else find their other half much more irritating than usual since being pregnant?!

Anyway, I hope you feel better today cheshire.

Cheshirehello79 · 14/08/2015 13:49

Still feeling poorly had to take day off as couldn't sleep and been sick again . I feel so weak as fell and at one point went to toilet felt my feet are wobbly. Got zero energy . Called mw on holiday - called triage they requested I stay hydrated and if I get worse call them or go see gp . Feel like I've lost a stone .

I can feel very strong movements as well ( not contractions) not sure if baby is in distress as well or but triage have assured me nothing to worry about . Bed rest for me all weekend.

Thanks for thinking about me guys need it

Metalhead · 14/08/2015 17:36

Sorry you're still poorly cheshire, take it easy and rest as much as you can. Hope you feel better soon. x

chopsface · 14/08/2015 18:10

Sorry you're feeling unwell still Cheshire are you keeping fluids down? I've read that baby movement can actually cause sickness in some people. I hope you feel better soon. What a crap time :-(

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 15/08/2015 19:37

Cheshire have you had any bloods done recently for anaemia?

Not too bad here iron has dropped and I feel horrendous but apparently it needs to be below 10 before they give you iron and mine is typically 10.2 I know as a healthcare professional I should know better but I'm seriously considering ordering some online.
Have been quarrelling with DH recently he knows how bad I've been feeling and exhausted and tired yet just sits there going on about his bad back or blocked ear Angry

mrsdiddlydoo · 15/08/2015 19:42

Can recommend floradix to anyone worried about iron levels. It comes in liquid or tablet form and was recommended to me by my mw when I was pregnant with DS. Just helps keep you topped up as opposed to a super large dose and doesn't make you constipated. Smile buy from Holland and Barratt's or health shops or online.

mrsdiddlydoo · 15/08/2015 19:44

I'm not on commission by the way Wink I take it but know I'll end up on iron as well before the end of this pregnancy. Always a bit borderline anaemic.
