I think it depends if you want the nuchal screening, Moonshine. They measure the number of rolls of skin at the back of the neck (I think!) to see if there's an indication of Down's. Has to be done at a certain point, though.

Think it's 11 weeks until 13+6. I've attached a photo of when they do each 'thing' (on the NHS).

Hi all, hope everyone is enjoying the weekend Smile

Welcome to all the newbies (waves) I will add you all to the stats later today.

5+6 today for me, still super nervous and awaiting scan date letter. Have had quite a few 'I'm going to be sick' moments the past few days, again usually when feeling hungry. They are accompanied by a hot flash, a sheen of sweat and come from nowhere! I've decided that carrying a plastic bag with me at all times is a good idea going forward, just in case, eek! Lots of cramps and twinges at the moment and the bloating is out of control by night time.

TeenieDeenie · 31/05/2015 12:12

Oh and also ASOS have 20% off everything today, including maternity with code: BIGWINS Just in case anyone wants to pick up a few items for the near future. Smile

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 31/05/2015 12:19

Ooh thanks for that teenie, I'll have a good browse!

CubanoHabana · 31/05/2015 12:32

Teaching teenagers tomorrow too...Sad

Marvelette · 31/05/2015 12:42

Valancy - think my Y12s are off too thank goodness! Not planning on telling my line manager until beginning of July (after twelve week scan), and then hope to get away without telling colleagues until when I return in Sept (after twenty week scan). You? Feel a bit bad I'll be leaving next year's exam classes mid year, wasn't planned this way oops!

SleepyDragon · 31/05/2015 12:42

Does anyone know where you can get 'plus size' maternity clothes? I was a 20-22 (UK) before I got BFN and all the ASOS/NEW LOOK/Mothercare ones stop at 18!

I've had a look at Next but I can't find anymore! Confused

SleepyDragon · 31/05/2015 12:43

And yes I meant BFP not BFN - doh!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 31/05/2015 12:56

I'm also teaching teenagers tomorrow-eeek! Fortunately they are ALL doing exams so it's just invigilation and marking. I tried to convince my colleagues we should invigilate in 45 min slots instead of 1.5 hours but they wouldn't have it. My bladder is just going to have to grin and bear it.

Can't imagine getting up early though. I slept in until 12pm today, that's another 13 hour sleep.

Marvelette my 12 week scan is also at the beginning of July, really hoping I can hide any bump until at least then, I'd rather not tell until August if I can manage it.

I managed three full meals yesterday, proud of myself! Let's hope I can continue with that, it's tough only being able to snack some days.

Welcome, to all the newbies and congratulations!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 31/05/2015 12:59

Thanks for the picture Juniper. Do they take bloods at the booking in appt?

moonshine25 · 31/05/2015 13:12

Thanks oyster and juniper! I go away on 11+4 and return on 13+6 so hoping they can fit my in the short window I have!!

Hello newbies!! I'm in that mood where I'm peckish and queasy but don't know whether I should eat and what I should eat! Weird feeling!

And thanks for the code, I'll have a browse on asos!

flyinghighinthesky · 31/05/2015 13:36

sleepydragon try new look. I think they go up to 20/22.

Smyth · 31/05/2015 13:52

Hi all, can I join to please? I'm 35 and currently 5+6 with dc2, ds1 is 15 though so feel like I'm starting all over again! Booked in for an early scan 8th June as we had an mmc in November last year. Bit nervous and can't quite believe it's real yet.

Also keeping busy by having a job interview on the 10th or 11th June and moving house on the 12th Shock

OTheHugeManatee · 31/05/2015 13:54

I'm showing already at 7wks because of this huge fibroid Shock Just invested in some fat girl jeans in super soft stretchy from Primarni at £11 a go. Now wondering if Isabella Oliver stuff is worth the money. £30 for a VEST??? Confused

Tonicandgin · 31/05/2015 14:06

Never tried Isabella Oliver stuff but tried Seraphine last time and they were pretty good quality.

Found red herring in Debenhams to be pretty good and cheapish.

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 31/05/2015 14:09

£30 is ridiculous Manatee! I've been looking mainly on ebay and you can get vests for a tenth of that price. Wouldn't be the same quality obviously but I don't think I should go overboard for a few clothes that I might only wear for a few months.

Tonicandgin · 31/05/2015 14:26

I found with jeans that I bought crap quality jeans and because I wore them to death they only lasted a couple of months so ended up buying loads of pairs!!! Agree £30 for a vest is extortionate (!) but planning on getting a few quality things that I can wear almost daily this time.

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 31/05/2015 14:30

Does anyone have recommendations for maternity clothes ranges? I'm usually a size 12 and don't want to spend a fortune! Most of the things on ASOS I like are either New Look or their own maternity range.

Carno13 · 31/05/2015 14:40

Happy girl86... I'm 6+3, what about you? Really hope it goes away soon it's horrible x

flyinghighinthesky · 31/05/2015 14:47

last time I think all my maternity clothes were from Asos, vertbaudet and new look. New look stuff is rubbish quality but so cheap I didn't mind too much when it fell apart.
Gap has some good basics

Tonicandgin · 31/05/2015 15:01

I had some decent stuff from red herring (Debenhams). I found it was a good idea to order loaaaads. There are practically no shops so internet shopping!

Anyway try stuff on from various placesand see what suits your shape. They aren't great if I'm honest.. Selection is much smaller so you have to put up with stuff.

I went for a load of tunic tops a size bigger than I am and decent maternity jean (under bump) I found over bump clothes awful. Then bump band for coverage and comfort.

Juniper44 · 31/05/2015 15:04

I bought stuff mainly from Gap (jeans), H&M (tops), Next (work tops) and New Look (work trousers). Seems most of the shops have moved to online only, but H&M on Regent Street still has maternity stuff.

My major issue was finding work trousers. Ended up buying most from New Look as they do a short leg size. Maternity AND petite is just not going to happen!

Cramping has completely stopped, thankfully. Not sure if it was baby related or something I ate. Both DD and I had off stomachs, so might be that. Also, potties and morning sickness! Argh!

Juniper44 · 31/05/2015 15:06

Tonic I found under the bump best for the start, but over the bump far better towards the end. I really missed them when I had to move back into normal clothes!

I also bought a load of vests from Primark in a couple of sizes too big. Easy to stick under other outfits.

AlohaMama · 31/05/2015 15:15

Think I must be needing maternity clothes sooner rather than later. Prev pregnancies I wore normal clothes well into my 2nd trimester. Now it's mainly avoiding doing up jeans because pressure on my stomach makes me feel sick, but wearing leggings and a tunic top this morning to church I was outed by a lady who commented on my bump Shock I guess that's what happens once you're 35+ and have already had two kids Sad

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 31/05/2015 15:15

Thanks for the tips ladies. Don't think there's a Gap near me so that'll have to be online.

It's quite difficult doing this shopping as this is first baby and I have no idea how big the belly will grow as well as the rest of me!
