7 weeks today and feeling bleurgh. Last full day of hols and all i want to do is stay in bed with a sick bucket. Poor dh, he has been so understanding but he is definitely feeling hard done by now as i am definitely limiting what we can do this hol. He's off to the gym so hoping that when he comes back i will feel well enough to crawl to the pool.

Definitely not looking forward to the flight home tomorrow night - 9.5 hours feeling like this will not be fun!

Sorry for the moan!

mrschatty · 30/05/2015 15:32

kep I don't envy you hun :( I'm not that bad with nausea at the min but wouldn't want a long flight before me even now... I'm going to France thankfully ill be 12wk the day I go so hopefully will be feeling fine buts it's such a short flight took us longer to drive from Manchester to Scotland for this weekend! X

Readyforthefuture · 30/05/2015 15:40

Oh kep, sorry you've had this to deal with on hols. I'm dreading the same thing.

My preggie pops have just been delivered, they are looking like any old sour boiled sweet, maybe it's worth seeing if you can grab something similar pre flight?

kep1979 · 30/05/2015 15:44

I'm definitely having a pity party today. I am pretty much phobic about being sick; i'd probably feel better if i just vommed. Dh gone to gym and "will meet me at the pool when i'm ready". I am sure he is trying to be considerate, but i'm just being unreasonable and hormonal annoyed that he is daring to feel aggrieved by me feeling so rough. The more reasonable me knows it is shit for both of us, but i feel poorly so surely i win? LOL. Going to try to drag my sorry self to the pool.... don't feel too sorry for me peeps Grin

flyinghighinthesky · 30/05/2015 15:51

Hi ladies, thought I better join in now before you hit thread #3.
EDD Jan 30th, DD1 was a week early so hopefully all bring well will be a Jan baby and not a Feb one!

RubyReins · 30/05/2015 16:01

May I join? Due 17 January according to the super efficient midwife service here. Only got my BFP yesterday! The ic tests failed me and are only now showing positive - even the notoriously unreliable in the early days, clear blue showed a positive. Second baby. DS (almost 5 years old) is sceptical Grin

Congrats all and hope the nausea passes soon.

OTheHugeManatee · 30/05/2015 16:26

Welcome newbies! Sympathy for all the queasy ones. I'm in the passenger seat going up the M6 to see ILs and struggling a bit. Though I have discovered small sips of orange Lucozade Sport seems to help with the sicky feeling.

Between that and the frankfurters and the cheese n crisp sarnies I am raging through the junk food aisles with this pregnancy Grin

Blackandwhitecat3 · 30/05/2015 16:47

Welcome Flying and Ruby, congratulations!

Kep I hope you have managed to make it to the pool. Apparently you burn more easily when pregggers so make sure you've got lotion on! Maybe like you say, an actual vom will make you feel better after. So far for me, I just get an almighty belch (pleasant!) and then I feel tons better, so I'm wondering whether it's just wind in my stomach that's making me feel queasy (doubtless some of you are actually hurling in which case, my sympathies)

Manatee I've never been one for fizzy drinks, but it really does seem to work, doesn't it?

All I want is toast, peanut butter, crackers, crisps, cornflakes and more cornflakes. Oh, and biscuits. And the cheese. But not cheese flavoured biscuits, ugh.

Mind you, that bacon sandwich sounds appealing Wink

flyinghighinthesky · 30/05/2015 17:08

Also can't stop eating, three breakfasts this morning. Well if a bag of bacon crisps counts as breakfast?

HappyGirl86 · 30/05/2015 17:20

Hi, is this a group for those who are due in January 2016? Sorry if I've ended up on the wrong thing Smile

moonshine25 · 30/05/2015 17:26

Hi happygirl - it sure is!! Come join us Smile

I get on and off queasy and mainly if I haven't eaten tbh - which only means that I'm going to put so much weight on! Oops!

And for me cheese flavoured crisps are the best - and of course frankfurters!!

moonshine25 · 30/05/2015 17:26

And flying - a bag of crisps is definitely just a snack Smile

BeeMyBaby · 30/05/2015 17:33

gouda I'm not really concerned about losing weight as I know you are not really meant to gain weight in the first trimester (with dd1 I gained half a stone, whoops). I tend to have a very sugary diet (I am a proper sugarholic) so all I'm doing is replacing the chocolate/brownies/cookies/sugary musli cereal with high fibre alternatives like more fruit and veg.

HappyGirl86 · 30/05/2015 17:38

Thanks Moonshine!
I think I am approx 5 weeks and an app I used suggests I am due around 30th Jan. Very excited but also nervous that everything goes ok.

I wondered if anyone can give me advice on the early scans you can pay for? How do you go about getting these?
Thanks!

moonshine25 · 30/05/2015 17:44

I'm due on the 20th Jan - feeling so similar to you! Very excited but petrified that something may go wrong! But I guess I'm just living each day as it comes and hoping for the best.

In regards to private scans I think just google scans in your area and go from there? Some of the ladies on here have decided to go for one and others are leaving it until their 12 week nhs one I think.

HappyGirl86 · 30/05/2015 17:50

Thanks- will Google.

I dont know why I'm worrying so much that something will go wrong. I think it's because I am a person who worries about things in life, a glass half empty kind of person. I want to google prams and furniture and exciting things but I don't want to tempt fate! Is that just stupid?!

Oysterbabe · 30/05/2015 18:01

I feel the same Happy
I think it's about finding the right balance (I haven't found it yet). You can't live your life in constant fear but you also can't count your chickens. We'll probably be fine but miscarriages happen and happen fairly often.

AmyFlame1986 · 30/05/2015 18:04

Hi everyone and welcome HappyGirl I have been awol for a week or so. Mainly because work is manic and I am dead on my feet when I get home. The tiredness is silly! Apart from being tired and my boobs hurting a lot I feel fine. No sickness or anything. I Spent the afternoon googling whether it was normal to not feel sick and rather than worry I think I am just going to think that I am lucky! Only 6 weeks 1 day so plenty of time for that!

Had a nap this afternoon so feeling awake at 6pm for the first time in days, so awake decided to do some exercise!

Juniper44 · 30/05/2015 19:01

I lost half a stone in my first trimester last time... but only because I stopped drinking beer Blush I replaced my beer belly with a baby belly!

Still feeling crampy- it's been about 28 hours now so, although I'm on constant knicker check, I'm slightly less worried than I was. When I had my MC the bleeding happens quite soon after the cramping started. Fingers very tightly crossed in this household.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 30/05/2015 19:22

Amy my nausea kicked in on week 7, so maybe you are in for a treat (or you may be lucky and never get it) Wink

Juniper fingers x for you

Welcome newbies and congratulations

brickiemum2 · 30/05/2015 19:32

Well my nausea dictated a tapas style buffet tonight and who am I to argue? I made potato salad, chicken wings with garlic, pasta with homemade olive tapenade, homemade chicken goujons, grilled halloumi with chilli and garlic huge big salad, garlic tear and share and antipasti selection (I couldn't have that though) don't think any of the invited family twigged I was feeling sick as a dog lol. I did manage to eat a fair amount and it wasn't junk food so I'm feeling much happier.

Sounds like a delicious meal!!

How have people gone on explaining morning sickness to work without revealing you are pregnant yet?

Lookingforadvice123 · 30/05/2015 19:35

The food posts are making me chuckle Grin those of you who are eating everything in sight right now,
are you 6-7 weeks? I was exactly the same at that stage, the nausea was almost telling me to eat!!! Although I've still got the nausea now at almost 9 weeks I'm not quite as ravenous which is a relief as I gained 5lbs from getting my Bfp to week 7 Blush

Today has been so unhealthy though! I've eaten:
Ham on whole grain toast
Mini cheddars
Ham sandwich with mayo on whole grain bread
Skinny decaf latte, caramel shortbread
Grab bag size packet of ready salted crisps

Still got dinner of fish and chips (oven cooked at least) to come foowed by maltesers. Spot the fatty!
