Update Miss and Cubano Smile

Lilliana · 29/05/2015 16:44

Yes gouda anti d at some point - can't remember when but it went in my thigh/bum and hurt. Didn't have one after birth as DD is negative too. They also give you another if you have a smack in your bump - a fairly big one eg a car accident. It's not so much it hurts this pregnancy but can prevent you having other children in future - again can't remember why, will have to look it up again!

impatientlywaiting · 29/05/2015 16:53

Cubano we are going to RVI too, had DS1 there and thought it was all very good. If you are able to use the birthing centre it's amazing there, loved the idea of DH being able to stay over afterwards. I had DS in the birthing centre but due to 3rd degree tear was transferred as soon as he was born to theatre and then the maternity ward. Think I might request a C-Section this time as although birth was fab i'm worried about future continence issues of I tear again so I'll miss out on the birthing centre this time.

Marvelette · 29/05/2015 17:19

Can I join the Google doc please? Name Marvelette. Due 18th Jan, first, no mcs so far, age 34. Best wishes to all! Smile

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 29/05/2015 17:23

Teenie Can I be updated please. I don't have any kids so far, this little bean is the first! Smile

Hope everything is positive in the parsnip household today!

Booking in appointment is 8:45 on monday. Hate having blood taken so I've booked myself a haircut in the afternoon. This head of hair needs a good old chop Grin

goodnessgraciousgouda · 29/05/2015 17:34

Thanks for all the info ladies. Since my doc is also my husband's GP you'd think he might have mentioned the whole "needing additional injections" thing at the very least!!! (Everyone knows their blood type here).

I know why the injections are important - it's to stop your body from destroying any future foetuses with rh + blood. I just thought I only needed one IF I had a bleed and maybe a second one IF baby turns out to be rh +. I had no idea it was a definite in some places!

My nausea seems to be abating a bit at the moment (fingers crossed this wasn't just fake morning sickness and the worst is yet to come) and oh my god, I am hungry pretty much all the time.

Today I've eaten:

One plain pitta with omega three spread
An apple and two mini babybel
two dates
three mini chewy sweet things. No idea how to explain them
About five of those smallish ginger biscuits you can get from M and S
six or so mini bread things (they are for canapes, small circles of bread you find everywhere in france), with a bit of boursin and cucumber.

I am still hungry and still have dinner to go yet. Weep. This doesn't seem like much until you realise I've pretty much just been at home all day.

At least I've done some exercise this week. Not much admittedly....but some.

Azquilith · 29/05/2015 17:50

Hello, been a bit quiet for a bit but broke and went for an early scan today (£50 at Liverpool Women's) which showed me as 8 + 3 with lovely bean wriggling away. EDD 5 Jan. Very exciting!

Oysterbabe · 29/05/2015 17:51

My DH has come home with a book called Pregnancy for Men. Bless him, he's so excited Smile

Oysterbabe · 29/05/2015 17:53

Contrasts to the people who have had positive scans today Grin

Oysterbabe · 29/05/2015 17:53

*Congrats!!

impatientlywaiting · 29/05/2015 18:07

Yay, congrats Asquilith.

AlohaMama · 29/05/2015 18:14

Congrats on all the lovely scans, I have to admit to being a teensy bit jealous. Last two dcs were in USA so as soon as I thought I was pregnant I had a scan, and at every apt they checked heartbeat. So far I haven't even heard from MW and still not sure how far along I am. I did look at private but our closest is Bournemouth which is a good 40 main away, so tricky to arrange around kids, and I think was about 100, soon too expensive. Just have to be patient.

FizzyPinkWine · 29/05/2015 18:15

Great news about the scans!
Thanks teenie for doing the stats. Can you just update mine with 1 dc, not 2, please? I've just got my dates for booking in and scan too, they are: booking in: 19th June.
Scan: 30th June.
Thanks!
Gouda, I seem to be eating constantly! If I'm not eating I feel sick!

Azquilith · 29/05/2015 19:18

Thanks everyone Grin feeling uber nauseous though. Have a weird window of not feeling bad 12-4pm then back on again. Being in the car is dreadful, hanging head out of window like a dog at the moment!
Anyone found any magic cures?

OTheHugeManatee · 29/05/2015 20:13

No magic cures. Sitting still and not overeating seems to help, and I like lemon and ginger tea for the horrible taste.

AlohaMama · 29/05/2015 20:16

No magic cures sadly. There are all sorts of tips but its very personal, and what works for one won't work for another. Personally, I can't let myself get an empty stomach, so regular snacks, sipping iced water, or hot water with lime juice, eating biscuit or toast in morning before I lift head from pillow, sweets, iced lollies, bland food. Lots of people say ginger but personally couldn't stomach it. I did try sea bands before. Not convinced they made a difference.

MissMartin1992 · 29/05/2015 20:36

my mum told me to buy some ginger sweets -like crystallised ginger from a good old sweet shop Grin

Juniper44 · 29/05/2015 20:54

Last time, I ate a lot of water biscuits. Plain and carby helped. Waves of nausea the last few days, but nothing like last time (yet!)

I'm worrying tonight- been having weird pains. Not sure if they're uterine cramps or if it's gas Blush. Ended up cancelling my night out as I don't want to be knicker checking continuously, and if the worse does happen then it wouldn't be much fun.

Just need to get DD to bed and I can veg on the sofa. She's still going strong after a late nap.

kep1979 · 29/05/2015 21:24

Thanks to whoever mentioned the anti sickness bands, I remembered that I have some at home that I found when we were lacking the house up. Will try them when I get back. The nausea is a right pain. I was so looking forward to amazing seafood on holiday, but the only thing I can stomach is either plain potatoes/chips/fries/crackers with salt, or a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich - which I NEED!! The thought of any meat makes me want to hurl. And taking my omega cap this morning made me gag - doesn't help that I have to chew them!

OTheHugeManatee · 29/05/2015 21:26

I told my mum I kept wanting cheese and crisp sandwiches. She said 'oh haha about the most fattening thing you could eat haha'. She is very sweet and supportive on the whole but right then I thought 'stfu Mum, really.' Hmm

MissMartin1992 · 29/05/2015 22:12

oh are mums great Grin hehe. .my mums favourite saying to me and my sister is "a moment on the lips a life time on the hips" i wouldn't mind but im only 8st3 Sad

goodnessgraciousgouda · 29/05/2015 22:24

Oyster - that is one of the sweetest things I've heard so far! Bless his heart!!!

Morning sickness - I've said it a few times, but sugar free hard boiled sweets really do help me. Personally the lemon or strawberry flavours I find the best, but any taste you like would probably work. TBH even mints would probs do the trick, but I've never liked them. Except bah humbugs and I don't even know if that's what they are really called, but that's what my grandparents called them, so....

goodnessgraciousgouda · 29/05/2015 22:26

Also, after a whole evening of sitting down in a not very comfortable position, and drinking lots of apple juice (the only non booze option) I am filled with more gas than the hindenburg blimp.

It is NOT. PLEASANT.

mrschatty · 29/05/2015 22:31

Well yes the bands have worked but I also had a big mac today... my mother also told me to watch myself makes it all the harder at tge other end to gerlt rid of she likes to remind me tonight...
My mum and aunt also pinned me down and fake tanned me tonight because I look 'washed out' I'm usually a tanaholic with fake tan but just had no energy to do it this week xxx

CubanoHabana · 29/05/2015 23:23

impatient I'm trying for both centre and do fat been told it should be fine. At Durham we had been there from 6pm,had ds at 4am and dh was kicked out at 6am as they put me in ward (even though mid wife had said she would keep us in labour suite until 8.30 then move move so dh wouldn't need to leave but there was a shift change and new midwife was horrible and made us move then and there. We live nearly an hour away from hospital, so no point dh going home, so he went and sat in the car for 2 and a bit hours!

Mind, at booking in, midwife said having dh able to stay shouldn't be a reason to go to rvi, as I would only be in 6 hours anyway! I know 2nd births aren't kept too long but I think it's a bit presumptuous!
