I would have done it but I had quite a tidy bump last time around. It really isn't a long way Kent to London! I spent most of my time wandering around shops and the like - what else are we meant to do waiting to give birth? You may be early so I would recommend a cancellable room but seeing as I was 16 days late I would have enjoyed a wander around London before I popped.

I was hoping to be spending Christmas with family in Kent this year and said I was happy to do so at 38-39 weeks travelling from Cumbria but DP said no Sad

loveulotslikejellytots · 01/05/2015 16:16

Thanks. DH has become overly cautious since we found out! Everything I do he's asking if I should be doing that etc. Grin

I think we should book it. I'm not due until 10th, like you said I could go 2 weeks over. If there are any reasons why I shouldn't go nearer the time I can cancel.

CarrotVan · 01/05/2015 17:03

I couldn't have done it but I had bad SPD and could barely walk. If you feel ok just make sure you take your notes with you and don't overdo it

Mummyofonesofar · 01/05/2015 17:17

I had SPD and just stuck my girdle on, took some paracetamol and went on my way! But it can get very bad where you can't leave the house and use crutches. But if you are healthy and use those pelvic floor muscles now you should be ok.

horseylady · 01/05/2015 22:28

Hello hope you're all doing ok!!!

Tired here but only real symptoms. Doesn't feel real yet. Strange. Last time it felt so odd,

coffeenut · 02/05/2015 02:48

loveulots I was 15 days late with my first and cancelled all these plans, was very cautious etc in weeks 38/39/40 just in case. But it would have been fine, and was quite cross and bored with myself by week 41! Smile I would go, bring your notes like carrot says and be prepared to cancel if need be.

I'm glad ppl have been saying they have been cold!! I've been constantly freezing, couldnt remember this as a symptom last time and was getting a bit worried.

Those with spd before, are you already getting twinges? I can feel my hips loosen up already urgh.

Just had slightly runny egg and then remembered I shouldnt!! Shit. Oh well.

mrsfazruns · 02/05/2015 08:02

Ooooohhhh coffeenut runny egg sounds lush!!! ...... How many weeks are left!? lol ..... Im missing copious amounts of coffee already! X

CarrotVan · 02/05/2015 08:04

Mummyofone - are you getting any signs of SPD yet? I'm getting some ominous twinges but might just be paranoid. A friend's first sign of her second pregnancy was a full return of SPD - at 7 DPO!

Coffee - was it a Lion marked egg? If so don't worry about it

Mummyofonesofar · 02/05/2015 08:09

carrot I'm fine so far, it was only once I had a bump last time. Plus I switched from heels to flip flops and flats which made it worse last time til physio told me if I'm used to heels I'm better off in them!

I forget we can have eggs of they are lion marked! Means to more yummy poached farm eggs from down the road though...

mrsfazruns · 02/05/2015 08:27

Can you have farm eggs if they are fully cooked though!?

Mummyofonesofar · 02/05/2015 08:34

Yes but who really wants hard eggs Hmm

Lookingforadvice123 · 02/05/2015 08:39

My EDD is 4 Jan! Hi everyone [waves]. This is our first. Nervous and anxious about the next few weeks as I know of so many people who've suffered mc Sad

Congrats to everyone on this thread Flowers

wouldleavehomeforIdrisElba · 02/05/2015 08:42

hello all......are we all cooking nicely?
I'm half way through a marathon journey across the water to spend week with my family in England. its been a lo g time since I was pregnant (well accept for the 10week mmc in 2013Sad ) So all these banned foods are new to me. I guess I will have to get up to date. 4w5d for me today. I am constantly aware of how fragile things are just now....not least being an older Mum. Fingers crossed everyday that my little bean is cosy and growing nicely.

mrsfazruns · 02/05/2015 08:54

Don't like hard eggs but the 5 chickens in my back garden laying everyday I can't bear buying any!! X

loveulotslikejellytots · 02/05/2015 08:56

Hi looking and would! Sorry to hear about your mc would xx

On the subject of coffee, how much are you cutting down to? I used to drink loads of tea (probably 6 or 7 cups a day) plus a couple of costas a week. I had a decaf at costa, that tasted the same, but decaf tea (the one I tried) was foul. Any recommendations for decaf tea? I'm having one cup of normal tea a day, can I drink more? Less? I've given up all fizzy drinks so no caffeine there.

Mummyofonesofar · 02/05/2015 08:58

You can have 2 cups of coffee but o don't know what the equivalent is for tea. I'm drinking of tips decaf which is alright if you stew it long enough!

mrsfazruns · 02/05/2015 09:13

I had pj tips yesterday and it was not too bad!!! I'm a coffee addict but trying to cut it down to one a day!!

loveulotslikejellytots · 02/05/2015 09:13

I'll add that to my shopping list. I tried Yorkshire tea decaf, it had a really odd smell and a funny aftertaste. I've had a look on the NHS website, it says 200mg of caffeine a day is safe, coffee is 100mg a cup, tea is 75mg, but it also says not to forget chocolate has it in too.

I'm a bit confused though, the NHS website says that green tea contains caffeine, I always thought it was caffeine free!!! Good job I can only stomach one cup of that a day! Grin

Twinings super fruit tea is lovely though, and that says caffeine free on the packet! It's strawberry, raspberry and blueberry flavoured.

Mummyofonesofar · 02/05/2015 09:17

loveu I think I worked it out before that you'd have to eat 5 bars of chocolate for be the same as one cup or something. About 1kg of chocolate would put you over your limit. So enjoy your chocolate!

CarrotVan · 02/05/2015 09:20

Loveu - you need to brew decaff tea for a good few minutes longer than normal tea. I'm cutting down to 1 normal tea or 1 diet coke a day

crumble74 · 02/05/2015 10:03

Morning all & welcome lookingforadvice! Congrats!

loveu - PG Tips decaf tastes fine I think but I'd also stew it a little longer.
We have a Nespresso machine and I have a bit of a Starbucks habit so need to change my ways!! Rooibos tea is nice though & always caffeine free. Husband threw out my beloved Pinot as well [sob]

Hope your journey goes well wouldleavehome. I had an MMC at 10 weeks too which is always at the back of my mind. Every pregnancy is different though & every day is a new day.

coffeenut · 02/05/2015 10:45

my gp says one (instant) coffee and two teas a day is okay.
I've been ordering a weak latte and having up to two teas a day as well which is probably too much ... cant remember what I had last pregnancy...

We dont have lion marked eggs here!

Lookingforadvice123 · 02/05/2015 11:29

Caffeine-wise I'm having one (big) cup of caffeinated coffee a day, then any more tea/coffee is decaf. Think I'm going to try and stop the caffeinated coffee altogether and switch to decaf though. Haven't had any diet coke since finding out I was pg but do love it so will have the odd can but not every day. Is there much in chocolate? I ate a whole (sharing Blush) bag of bitsa wispa to myself yesterday!

Cazzybaby · 02/05/2015 15:34

Hmmm who can help me work out how many weeks and days I am? Last period 25th March usually 31 days?! Help its been ages since I was last pregnant lol

Hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing weekend and getting plenty of rest xxx

crumble74 · 02/05/2015 15:40

Hi cazzy, I used the NHS due date calculator & it's come up as 5 weeks with an EDD of 2/1/16 (same as me at the mo!) Congrats.
