Snuck over here to ante-natals wondering whether there would even be a jan 2016 thread yet and lo and behold, here it is!
I've just got a bfp, EDD 6.1.16 .... which seems an auspicious date!
Super early days for me though so feeling very cautious. Congrats everyone!!

Hello! How did you ladies work out your EDD as presumably you haven't seen doctor yet? I just vaguely counted months.

Report
ProbablyMe · 26/04/2015 21:53

I did an online due date calculator that uses the date of the start of your last period. It's what the midwife will use too.

Congrats to Azquilith and Coffeenut.

Ah well I think I'm out of here. Took another FRER and got a fainter line so I took my last CB digi and it said not pregnant so I guess it was a chemical. Still bloody hurts though.

The very best of best wishes to all of you.

Hi! Got a light BFP Sat, confirmed today on a digital. Think EDD is around 6th Jan (OMG!!!). Will be baby number one and I am utterly clueless... Have a GP appt next week and obvi taking folic acid but is there anything else I should be doing?

Congrats Joey.....Grin
Not to much else for now....
I've made the switch to decaffeinated coffee over last few days as I keep reading that its been linked more and more to early miscarriage.
How's everyone feeling? Any symptoms yet? Apart from sore bbs and feeling tired I've not had anything yet. I'm kind of wishing for symptoms but then kicking myself lol. Can't win.

Report
Joey0805 · 28/04/2015 17:17

Sore bbs (from day 1, the first weird thing I noticed) and quite a bit of light cramping. Have had it for about 3 days now, guessing there's quite a lot going on in there so trying not to get too concerned about it.

Report
Joey0805 · 28/04/2015 17:18

Have you all switched to decaf coffee? Also are you exercising (if you did before)? I've always been super fit and really keen to stay as active as I can but there are so many conflicting views on what is ok and not ok.

peeks round door

Room for a cautious optimist? Due 6th Jan if all goes well. Feeling very tired and more nausea than last time.

Hello Coffee and Mummyofone

Joey - I've switched to decaff tea and limiting myself to one diet coke a day. I got horrible SPD in my first pregnancy so will keep active as long as possible whilst knowing I'll struggle to walk past 6 months. Low impact should be fine and swimming is great but avoid breast stroke as it can aggravate the pelvis

Also don't be disappointed if your GP doesn't show much interest - they are just the gateway to the midwives unless you need dual care for some reason. You might be able to book in direct with the midwives and not bother with the GP

Very sorry to hear your news Probably. Be kind to yourself

joey....as far as I know, as long as you don't participate on any extreme sports then your usual keep fit regime would be encouraged. Just do as much as you feel comfortable with.
I had piled weight on in the months running up to treatment and am quite annoyed with myself. I will be trying really hard to minimise the damage.

Embolio · 28/04/2015 19:30

Oh holy moly I think Im very cautiously in too..... Just got a very very faint line on an Asda cheapy test. AF not due til thurs so am planning to test again at the weekend with a digital, but tentative edd 7th January.

3rd time round for me, jeepers!
Good luck everyone Smile

CarrotVan · 28/04/2015 19:48

I just double checked and my provisional EDD is 4th Jan. I think I may opt for an elective section after a difficult labour ending in a 4am emergency section last time which would probably make it a December birth

Report
Embolio · 28/04/2015 20:29

Joey - I'll switch to decaf everything once I've been shopping haha. Think exercise is ok as long as you're not embarking on a new regime, if you are pretty fit anyway it should be fine.
I'm still 2 stone heavier than I should be after ds2 - nearly 2 years ago!! Planning to eat healthily and swim and walk plenty. I've just started Zumba, which is so fun but pretty high impact for me and I'm wondering whether to find something a bit gentler.....

Carrotvan - I'm exhausted too, it was my first clue along with constantly needing to wee! Ds2 was meant to be elcs after an awful birth with ds1 but had other ideas and came at 34 weeks (very easily and quickly I might add!). my midwives and consultants were all v supportive of elcs, no probs getting it agreed or anything. Not sure what to do this time, lots of time to think/worry about it

probably you poor thing. I'm so sorry. Of course it bloody hurts, a loss is a loss Sad FWIW a poster on our conception thread had a chemical and got pregnant again straight away the next cycle. Sending lots of positive thoughts Flowers

carrot!!! Stay with us cycle buddy!! Wink

will check into angry pubes too, thanks mummy

no decaf for me joey. One coffee and too teas a day is what my gp said is okay. I've been ordering a weak latte instead of my usual strong though. You can keep exercising as much as you did before as long as you were fit beforehand! Dont push yourself if you feel uncomfortable though. I'm lazy, so I just do walking and yoga!

DC3 for me too embolio. I'm trying not to freak out.

Hey, Can I join please? Very early days, got my bfp on Sunday - dc2. EDD 4.01.16
Am approx 4 weeks and have a DS who is 3.5yrs old.
Me and DH have decided to try and keep this to ourselves for a few more weeks so you ladies are the first to know and its good to share!

Report
CarrotVan · 29/04/2015 08:27

I am exactly the same weight as I was when I got pregnant last time. It took me about 18 months to lose the weight and it only really shifted after I stopped breast feeding at 14 months. I put on loads of weight as the SPD meant I could barely move.

Embolio - was your antenatal care different because you were aiming for a ELCS?

So many of us due at the same time - this will be a busy club
