Valancy my afternoon wee is generally better than FMU for some reason, but not today as I had had so much water it was ridiculous!

Congrats Melon and welcome to anyone else I've missed (this thread's filled up fast!)

Parsnip I had two last week that looked like that - second one fainter - and worried but it was fine and all to do with using afternoon wee that I'd held for about three hours, as opposed to morning wee. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, how dilute and how long it's held does seem to still affect it. Try not to worry (I realise the irony of me telling someone not to worry, I'm the biggest worrier around!)

Just about to nip out to my doctor's appointment, quite excited to be deemed officially up the duff!

Yes, it makes a massive difference. I made the same mistake a day or so after af was due and got the same result as you. Tested again with smu (works better than fmu for me) the next day and got a nice strong line again.

Report
parsnipbob · 19/05/2015 18:08

I just POAS again (can't bloody help myself) and line was fainter than yesterday (see pic, yesterday's is on top).

Ok, yesterday's test was taken on a 2 hour hold with hardly anything to drink and today's test was taken on an hours hold and I'd had loads to drink, but it shouldn't make a difference after AF is due should it? :(

We've only got another 9 posts until this thread is full. Can someone create thread #2 and post a link to it here on this one before we're full please! I can't do links on my phone very well or I'd do it myself!

Ah ok wlrg14. Sorry, I didn't see where you said you'd had spotting etc. Fingers crossed for you.

I found a place in Canterbury that does private scans but I've heard really bad things about it. I think I'll just save my £75!! Buy another soft bra (felt exactly the same, why have I never worn one of these before!!) and some comfy jeans!

wlrg I am absolutely shattered - leaving work early today to go and have a nap! I may take another CB digi in the morning too.... I should really wait a couple of days but when I took the innards out this morning I know I shouldn't the test line was nearly as dark as the control, and I think when it's as dark it triggers the 3+ not that I've been on poasaddict and looked at loads of pictures

I just realised I posted that last one without reading any of the latest posts! Blush

Loveulots- my scan is on the NHS as if had some spotting (which has pretty much stopped) and I saw the gp last week who was so lovely and reassured me that its probably nothing to worry about but she could send me for a scan to put my mind at ease Smile she actually even personally called me out of hours to tell me the appt from the epu!

Bovnydazzler- I wasn't going to test again but then I changed my mind and will do another cb digi in the morning in the hope it says something more than 1-2! Grin and thanks for that hcg thing, its actually interesting to see how much it really varies between pregnancies!

I also picked up a cheap non wired support bra in tesco earlier and I am never taking it off! Grin I don't know why I never brought one before?!

Tonicandgin- in my last pregnancy (didn't end well) the tiredness was something I never expected, I missed so much work it was ridiculous and I could have slept constantly...I'm hoping that doesn't happen this time! Smile

I managed to break from the group and grab another cb digi in town today... Its the last as iv spent so much on tests! Blush will update when I do it in the morning Smile

It's my non-working day today and I'm so stupidly tired..

Dd was being tiring too today, was stuck to me like glue and kept hanging over the side of the high chair with her mouth full of lunch and grin firmly on her face. I was counting down to her naptime and thankfully managed a short nap myself.

I remember this tiredness from last time and its awful... Hope everyone else is managing it okay.

Jeans are also getting stupidly tight! I'm in my smallest pair but STILL! It's ridiculous.. I was hoping to remain in normal clothes for as long as possible but the way I'm going I'll be digging out my mat clothes very imminently.

I'm another big tea drinker, I switched to decaff when i was pregnant last time and just didn't swap back when I miscarried. Hope I don't go off tea totally although yesterday afternoon I had a cup and felt really sick.

melon congratulations! I totally understand the apprehension, I miscarried in March at 6+2, I am currently 5+3 so having major stresses this week. As for how to cope with these early weeks my strategy is to poas daily, which helps reassure me that the lines are getting darker. It's definitely not a strategy for everyone though as I know it can be stressful in itself. I do only use fmu, as I freaked myself out when a line was lighter after gallons of water later in the day.

And I plan to book in for a private reassurance scan at 7+ weeks - again not for everyone. I am also going on holiday on Friday for 10 days, which spans the time I miscarried last time. It will either take our minds off it or be a bad decision, but heigh ho.

I am trying to stick to the "today, I am pregnant" mantra, and allow myself to be excited, but it is difficult, and don't think I'll calm down totally to after 20 weeks or actually probably after 24 weeks

yep Yokyil I'm a 6-8 large mug kind of girl. Need to get myself some decent decaff!

aloha I love tea - would've took about 6 cups a day, had moved over to decaf when we were TTC - but now that I'm pregnant I cannot even drink a cuppa Sad it's so bad!!! The sickness just has me on water is about all I'm stomaching!

wow thanks for the stats update littlebunny..and for the cheese update!

I don't find the diet restrictions too bad tbh. I think that having read up on the reasoning for some, I have decided to ignore them as risks are so neglible (i.e. soft boiled eggs), but others I'm more cautious of (lysteria). The worst for me is trying to cut down on my tea intake, and remember to replace with water instead of getting dehydrated. Previous pregnancies the sickenss has been so bad I couldn't face tea, but that hasn't kicked in yet this time.

.Also, here is quite an interesting study on HSG levels. It's quite clinical but page 6 shows the variances in Clear blue test cases at different HSG levels. There is quite a variance so wlrg I wouldn't worry!

www.accessdata.fda.gov/cdrh_docs/reviews/K112870.pdf

However, none of the cases measured 3+ weeks at 12 dpo so no idea what's going on for myself! (Twins I could accept, please not a molar pregnancy!)

Report
Bovnydazzler · 19/05/2015 13:12

wlrg hope you've managed to relax about your clear blue. Are you testing again or stepping away? I'd say don't worry, 2-3 weeks normal range is 4000-135000 and clear blue digital will only count a middle chunk of that, so good likelihood it can be out (I've been googling!)

Thanks for doing the stats littlebbunny, can I be added please?

wlrg14 - I'm in kent too, where are you going for your private scan. If you'd rather not say or you want to pm me that's fine too. Just been trying to find somewhere that's all.

I guess I was a little coy in my stats wasn't I?

I'm 29, this is my first pregnancy, conceived in our second month trying.

I was very pleasantly surprised it happened so quickly, having been on the pill for 10+ years with no hint of an accident ever occurring, although I thought this would be the month somehow even before it started. I figured my mum had me in January so it must be physically possible (I realise this makes no sense).

Hello ladies. Can I join? Found out on Friday that I'm expecting number 1. I think I'm 5 weeks but cycles are quite irregular. EDD 19th January
Feeling very nervous after my 1st pregnancy ended in miscarriage last year at 8 weeks. Any advice on how to get through these first few weeks?!
