Christmas and new years babies thread!

CuppaSarah · 19/04/2015 10:41

Just got my bfp positive today and am thinking we need a thread for all the babies that will be born around new years and Christmas. I'm due new years eve and just know I'll be sick of the comments real quick! So we can vent and plan low stress xmases together.

I know we have the December thread and will have the January one, but why the hell not there's room for everyone!

Hi guys, just a quick one. My dh is now saying he doesn't want to find out gender next week. I really do, not because I have a preference for gender but I think this time round it will help me bond and help me plan stuff too. I know I shouldn't persuade him as I don't want him to be gutted we don't have a surprise but arrrrggghh I feel like childishly stamping my feet that I'm the pregnant one!!!! (I know that's not fair btw). Would you try to influence your dh or just accept and wait?

HopeItComesLate · 05/08/2015 19:45

Thanks guys been there nearly 3 years now only had 2 days off since I've been pregnant I'm not sure what he ment as he said o could leave I missed Alot of what he was saying as I was concentrating on not crying or vomiting on he's shoes. I think he said it was refusal as I hadn't been to the Dr yet
sorry for moaning I know some of you are going through so much worse x

HopeItComesLate · 05/08/2015 19:48

quezy I would probably stamp my feet and cry but maybe sit down and explain to him why you want to know hope that he understands x

SweepTheHalls · 05/08/2015 20:36

We spent today in London, taking the boys to see Wicked as part of Kids Theatre Week
The boys loved it and so did the baby! First time I have really felt it Grin

Queazy · 06/08/2015 06:58

Hope, you can self certify sickness up to 5 days, so I have no idea what rubbish your boss is spoutingHmm I hope your Dr is really good today and your vomiting stops soon. It sounds horrible.

I think I'll stamp my feet then suck it up on the gender front. It's not really fair to pressurise him - I don't want him to regret finding out.

Queazy · 06/08/2015 06:59

p.s. Always wanted to see wicked at the theatre!

sherbertlemon17 · 06/08/2015 08:18

Hi ladies, sorry to hear so many of you are having such a rough time at the moment.

AhEmily fingers crossed that your partner finds something soon. At least you know that you have a few months before the baby is here.

I'm away on holiday at the moment and taking advantage of catching up with MN whilst relaxing in the most amazing spa! Lots of stuff I can't do which is annoying but it is incredibly relaxing...

20 week scan (although it'll be more like 23 weeks) in exactly a week! So excited to see our wriggly bambino Grin anyone had theirs yet?

CuppaSarah · 06/08/2015 11:40

Oh my goodness a week without internet and all this happens!! Sorry everyone's feeling crappy and crampy.

Ahemily, my dp lost his job in my first pregnancy, it was a blessing in disguise, he was headhunted for a much better job in a better area after a month. He was so much happier for it. I hope you get a similar ending to your situation

OhHolyFuck glad you're still going strong, but it aucks your sickness is back.

I have my scan in one week and I am so excited. Babies been getting super wriggly but is very quiet today. I reckon that means I can have a greasy spoon for lunch to wake baby upWink.

Thank you all for your lovely supportive messages! DP’s in an interview as we speak, so hopefully we’ll be back on track soon.

Queazy - that’s really hard!! I was going to suggest you finding out and DH leaving the room at the crucial moment, but that wouldn’t really work – I couldn’t help but start calling my bump ‘she’ after the scan. Is he resolute?? I feel for you.

Your boss sounds really mean, Hope. It’s perfectly reasonable for someone to go home sick if they’re being sick FGS! You poor thing. How are you feeling now? Was the doctor able to help?

Glad you’re feeling the kicks now, Sweep! How exciting! This one is much more chilled than DS was – there’ll be long periods of time when I’ll feel nothing at all, whereas DS was constantly wriggling. I’m wondering if it means she’ll be a calmer character (DS is hyper to say the least)..!

Hope you’re having an amazing holiday, Sherbert - enjoy the relaxation!!

How are you holding up, OhHoly? Still thinking of you and hoping you’re doing as well as you can be.

Definitely go for the fry up, Cuppa! That’s the spirit!

horseylady · 06/08/2015 20:50

queazy could you ask the sonographer to write it down. Then you could look and DH could look when ready. I'm glad we found with ds1 as the birth was so traumatic we'd have completely missed the 'it's a boy' moment when they were thinking about sending him to NICU. And stitching me up. But I get not wanting to find out. I loved knowing what I was having, and want to know NOW but DH vetoed a private scan.

Is anyone else ridiculously hungry?? I could eat literally every 2 hours. I'm so worried about massive weight gain!!!

Ahemily · 07/08/2015 07:28

Yup, me too horsey. It's really urgent, too - I must eat NOW!

Anyone else's sense of smell gone bonkers too? Yesterday I accused my DS of pooing (he hadn't), my DP of changing his aftershave (he didn't) and the kitchen of smelling of seaweed (it doesn't). Weird.

HopeItComesLate · 07/08/2015 08:58

Went to Dr's yesterday and was prescribed anti sickness. Work was much better my boss wasn't in but he had changed all my shifts around so that I'm rarely working early mornings (obviously realised he was out of order) but I'm just relieved.
Hope the interview went well for your dh ahemily
So exciting that your getting kicks now sweep I'm going to try having a bath later see if I can't get it moving
How did the scan go quezy I have mine on Monday can't wait x

OhHolyFuck · 07/08/2015 20:14

I need to pull out of this thread - baby Olaf was born too soon today
After some bleeding and pain Wednesday night, I went for a scan and no heartbeat was found, I had some surgery today and I'm afraid it's all over now
Good luck to everyone else on this thread and fingers crossed for happy, healthy Christmas babies x

Ahemily · 07/08/2015 20:52
