CuppaSarah · 19/04/2015 10:41

Just got my bfp positive today and am thinking we need a thread for all the babies that will be born around new years and Christmas. I'm due new years eve and just know I'll be sick of the comments real quick! So we can vent and plan low stress xmases together.

I know we have the December thread and will have the January one, but why the hell not there's room for everyone!

Until Friday! That's evil, I though we were unlucky as most of the local schools here broke up last Fri. Today is officially the last day, but as a part timer I don't work today anyway!
Having had a Christmas baby first time it really is fine as you like know and choose the best bits to get involved with and put your feet up for the rest! And Internet shopping makes the rest a doddle Grin

OhHolyFuck · 21/07/2015 09:25

Yep, think Christmas dinner this year will be courtesy or M&Ss "shove it in the oven" range, I hope to wrap presents as I buy so I'm not doing mountains of it mid-contraction or anything, we're not seeing anyone and no-one is coming here and decorations will be minimal, maybe just the tree and lights...sound like the grinch don't I?!
Although I have started buying already, Olaf actually doing better than the other 2 despite not being born yet!

Ahemily · 21/07/2015 10:05

Yes to Internet shopping! Bloody genius!

HopeItComesLate · 21/07/2015 13:23

I don't know if any of you are using stretch mark creams in hope by some miracle they actually work but i got bio oil and coco butter as soon as i found out i was pregnant and hated them as they are slimey and well oily, common sense i know. However i was gifted the pregnacare stretch cream today and its lush!!! just like a moisturiser and i love the smell dunno if that's a pregnant thing or not but I will definitely be using this throughout.

Also welcome and congratulations natalieday

I'm super jealous of all these 16 week midwives appointments as I have to wait till 20 weeks now which feels like ages away.

Hope everyone's doing well and good shout on the on-line shopping sweep

MazyCrummy · 21/07/2015 13:53

I've just bought the 'main' present for 3 out of 4 of the children, plus the bedside crib for the baby. I'm determined not to be running round last minute life usual. On the down side, DH says he's never leaving me with my bank card again while I'm working from home... little does he know I've memorised the 16digit number so I don't need my card. Mwah ha haaaa! Grin

Ahemily · 21/07/2015 13:57

Brilliant tip hope - definitely going to get some!

Mazy that's seriously organised!!

Ahemily · 21/07/2015 18:47

Ugh, had a crap day at work today, with a horrible woman being needlessly aggressive. Normally I give as good as I get, but today I just feel so emotional, it was a real struggle not to burst into tears.

Just back from Asda click & collect service, where the 'assistant' stood chatting on his phone while I lugged all the bags from his trolley into my car, sighing at how long I was taking.

I'm not one to make a song and dance about feeling below par, but today I could have really used a massive "I'M PREGNANT SO FUCK OFF" sandwich board. Angry

OhHolyFuck · 21/07/2015 19:59

Ahemily sorry it's been such a shit day, anything nice tonight to cheer you up?

How's everyone doing with names? DP and I have been having 'discussions' but we're no closer because Derek is not a name I'm going to agree to!

CuppaSarah · 21/07/2015 21:01

Oh Ahemily, I'm sorry you had a shit day. Only a couple months till your bump is huge enough it'll be better than a sandwich board!

We had progress on name talks. Thomas for a boy and we have a short list for a girl. Amanda is the top name, then Isabelle, Annabelle, Jennifer and Georgina. No one we've talked to liked Amanda, not sure what's so offensive about it to be honest. But then again I find most of their suggestions offensive so ha Wink

I think we've settled on Isobel for a girl and either Harrison or Isaac for a boy. Boys names are hard, given that between first name and middle name for 3DS plus DSS, we've 'used up' 8 of our favourite names.

Ahemily, fingers crossed for a MUCH better day tomorrow. Flowers

OhHoly, Derek would have been our 3rd choice, can't see your issue!! Wink

Cuppa, like all of your girl's list INCLUDING Amanda, and Thomas is a good, strong boys name. Smile

OhHolyFuck · 21/07/2015 23:16

In that case Mazy we can't possibly use it, wouldn't want to steal one of your favourites!

CuppaSarah · 22/07/2015 05:21

OhHolyFuck don't you dare try and get out naming him Olaf!! It's a done deal.

Mazy I'm loving your choices, back.when I worked with children, the two boys I worked.with called Harrison were very gentile and sweet souls. Obviously down to the name. Never worked with an Isaac, but the two a's in a row looks really cool and its a lovely name.

I just had yet another train nightmare, this time dumbledoor played for our train fair and we all grieved someone's death. Then there was a replacement service on a weird aeroplane/helicopter thing that crashed twice. I survived both times as I had .my seatbelt on. I can't sleep now.

My dog had a dream at 4.30am and was woofing in his sleep. I couldn't get back to sleep so I hope he enjoyed chasing the rabbits or whatever he was doing!!

Thanks, OhHoly - just in case jumbo bump turns out to be secret triplets, Harrison, Isaac and Derek is a dead cert now you've stepped back!!

Tangoandcreditcards · 22/07/2015 07:59

OOh love seeing everyone else's names. Cuppa I love Georgina, also like Amanda (although there is something a bit "80s" about it, in a good way). Had my eye on Harrison mazy, but DP was not keen!

We had a leftover girl's name from DS (Zoe) but have moved on to Ramona, which I love so much I might be mildly disappointed if I have a boy, who will probably be Hugh/Hughie (which is late FIL's name who died in May). With 5 months to go though there is plenty of time to change my mind again, I really enjoy picking names so I tend to keep looking (another reason to stay team yellow so I have twice the fun Grin )

cuppa I had a real-life nightmare on the train yesterday which involved me having to brace myself against the door with my arms to stop getting squashed. I hate commuting. No plane crashes though, thankfully.

Hope you have a better day ahemily - I'm desperate for a duvet day, DS was up at 5.20 this morning. I've promised myself no flaking out until the 3rd trimester! [determined face]

Ahemily · 22/07/2015 08:51

Thank you lovely lot for putting up with my hormonal rant yesterday - made me feel much better!!

Loving everyone's names! Isobel is on our list too, along with Ella, Florence, Isla and Scarlet (I've put it back on the table despite DP's protestations - I'm hoping he might come round....

Sorry to hear of people's commuting hell yesterday, I'm currently boycotting the tube and walking if I can, it's like descending into the very depths of hell at the moment!

CuppaSarah · 22/07/2015 18:20

Go tango! If you can handle the commute in summer a toddler and baby will be easy!

We all have lovely taste in names can I say? Amanda is a bit 80s too, maybe she could be part of a gem and the holograms tribute? I'd love a daughter with a pink mullet!

Also in other great news we are not going to be homeless!! The council are housing us, may just be a temp housing studio flat but finally we'll have a home where I'm not subject to the emotional abuse and mind games my mum/landlady put on me. Plus she can't threaten to kick us out constantly. A safe, stable home for me and my family! So excited about moving next week I have heartburn!!!

OP posts:
CuppaSarah · 22/07/2015 18:22

I just realised she'll no longer have any power over us!!! I feel like Sarah at the end of the labyrinth!! I feel like a melty puddle, that finally I'm free from her.

Yay cuppa!!! Thanks

MazyCrummy · 22/07/2015 19:01

Fab news, cuppa! Flowers

Tangoandcreditcards · 22/07/2015 19:17

Oh yay cuppa - what a relief for you! x

sherbertlemon17 · 22/07/2015 19:22

Brilliant news Cuppa! So happy for you and your little family Smile

Loving some of the name choices too... Tango I love Hughie! Cuteness overload.

Mazy Isaac is on our boys shortlist and Isobel is on our girls middle name list. Fantastic choices!

We've got slightly unusual shortlists for our because of DH's North African heritage.
Boys- Zakariah, Zane or Isaac. Middle names- no idea!
Girls- Sofia, Saffiyah (Saff-ee -ah), Amira (A- mear-a). middle names- Lily, Isobel, Ava, Isla.
Such a big choice! Grin

Glad you're feeling better today Ahemily

Queazy · 23/07/2015 07:46

Cuppa that's brilliant news -I'm so happy for you!! ????????

I'm loving all the names tho re-read one of the posts as boys name 'mazy isaac' which raised an eyebrow - ha ha!

Queazy · 23/07/2015 07:54

I love the name Zachariah! We have a little Zac in the family or that would have been top of my list.

I'm thinking Ben, Alexander or Sebastian for a boy.

Thinking Madeleine, Alice or Beatrix for a girl. My dd's name begins with M though, so not sure if M&M is a great idea. Also, some people just look sad when I say Madeleine because of little Madeleine McCann. I don't want to think that will just pass, as I hope they find her or the family get news that gives them peace. I know I'm over thinking it, but insomnia means I have a lot of time to overthink!!!! Grin

NoArmaniNoPunani · 23/07/2015 18:51

How's everyone doing? I'm so fed up with being sick and feeling nauseous all day. It's really getting draining.

We've already decided on a name for our boy.
