Christmas and new years babies thread!

CuppaSarah · 19/04/2015 10:41

Just got my bfp positive today and am thinking we need a thread for all the babies that will be born around new years and Christmas. I'm due new years eve and just know I'll be sick of the comments real quick! So we can vent and plan low stress xmases together.

I know we have the December thread and will have the January one, but why the hell not there's room for everyone!

That's bad news Ahemily. Hopefully your DP can find something soon. There's still a while before the baby is due.

Ahemily · 01/08/2015 13:18

Thanks Gillster, that's true. I don't earn enough to support the whole family at the moment, so fingers crossed something will come through soon!

horseylady · 01/08/2015 21:10

I would never pay over the odds for a house. Mortgages etc. Nightmare. There will be somethibg come up. Three rejected offers sounds quite odd. Have they said what they would accept?

Sorry to hear about the job loss :(

We were at a wedding last night. I'm so tired today. It's crazy!!

Enjoy your weekends!!

MazyCrummy · 03/08/2015 09:49

Morning all!

First day back after my holiday today - left all the DC and DH (and even the Ddogs!) enjoying a leisurely breakfast. I've eaten my second breakfast in the car after losing my first in the time honoured way. I've not been sick for weeks either. Grrrr! Damn you work!

oh holy that's sh*t! I'm so sorry. Hope you're doing as well as possible in the circumstances. I found myself a single mum to 4 littlies four years ago, granted not pg too, but PM me anytime if you want to talk.

Right. Must. Do. SOME. Work!

OhHolyFuck · 03/08/2015 10:04

Hi, thanks everyone for their thoughts - I'm ok, still going! Started being sick again though (woke myself up mid-retch last night, at work!) and joined by headaches/nosebleeds too. I called the midwife and the next appointment to see her is the 13th so booked in

OhHolyFuck · 03/08/2015 10:05

Ahemily I'm sorry to hear that, hope something comes up for him soon

SweepTheHalls · 03/08/2015 12:28

Feeling pretty cheap here too. Awful headaches :-(. The house that we thought might be great had too many problems on second viewing which was crap too.

Ahemily · 03/08/2015 16:56

So sorry to hear that ohholy - and sweep, sorry to hear you're feeling rough too. Sad

Things here are a bit stressful today too actually, I've had stomach and back cramps on and off all day. Didn't have any of this with DS, and I'm thoroughly unimpressed!

Let's hope the week picks up for everyone!

roseformyrose · 03/08/2015 17:46

Oh dear, not a happy Monday for anyone by the sounds of it. Hope there will be feet up and chocolate for all tonight.

I've been feeling mostly OK so far (and feeling very lucky about it!), but last night had a sudden attack of stabbing pains in my abdomen/groin which totally freaked me out. I've read that it's probably round ligament pain and therefore no drama, but man it was painful! Is anyone else getting this?

Ahemily · 03/08/2015 19:50

Ouch rose! I had something similar with my DS, but really only when I coughed or sneezed - I think it's normal and it does pass, but not very pleasant at the time. Sad

These cramps are getting right on my bloody nerves today, it's a new one on me. Hoping an early night will sort it out.

Hope everyone else is doing okay!

Gillster · 03/08/2015 21:31

I had some crampy pains today too. At least it's reassuring to know that it's not unusual.

Ahemily · 04/08/2015 09:36

Oh no, not you too Gillster! I'm much better today, whatever stretching was going on seems to have settled down, thank goodness.

Hope everyone's feeling brighter today.

OhHolyFuck · 04/08/2015 09:44

I get it when moving in bed - I'll change positions heft myself over and it'll pull like hell. Really takes my breath away for a second or two but it's just muscles/ligaments being stretched

Ahemily · 04/08/2015 09:48

Yes, me too ohholy! It's doubly annoying because you know you'll be having sleepless nights before too long as it is - I feel we should at least be entitled to enjoy a full night's sleep now, while we still can.

How's everything going your end? I hope you're holding up okay. Thinking of you.

Tangoandcreditcards · 04/08/2015 12:10

Hi all,
Sending Flowers to ohholy - hope you're doing ok.

I get that yanking pain when i stand up quickly, like my whole bump is only supported by 2 hurty bits of wool inside.

Had a few weeks off the old SPD, but it's venturing back in now, which basically means I can't walk anywhere further than 5 mins walk away for the next 5 months.

ahemily sorry to hear about your DP's job. Hopefully it'll work out for the best. My DP lost his job when I was 7mo pg with DS, it felt like the end of the world and we had to juggle a few things about whilst panicking but now it seems like a blessing as we both ended up with much more flexibility and it suits us perfectly.

hopeitcomeslate - have you decided about the house? That sounds like a tricky one.

19 weeks for me tomorrow. Roll on scan day - I had my MW appt on Fri so dragged DP down there thinking she'd listen to the heartbeat but she didn't. Now am getting paranoid that all the movement I was feeling late last week has gone a bit quiet - tell me I'm being silly please.

Ahemily · 04/08/2015 14:06

Thanks tango; that's really heartening! I hope the same will happen here - I run a business but it's not turning over nearly enough at the moment, so either that has to take off in a big way, or DP has to find something sharpish!

Try not to worry about the lack of wriggles. I remember DS moving constantly, and this one is so much quieter, I guess different babies are more or less mobile. It could be the position s/he is in too perhaps. Have you tried the ice lolly trick (sure one of you gave me that tip!)

Not long until you'll see them now, how exciting!! I can't remember if you're finding out the gender or not? What's your feeling??

I've been sent a letter by my MW this morning, saying I need to go for a glucose test because of my PCOS - apparently it takes 3 hours and you can eat!! Urgh!

Ahemily · 04/08/2015 14:33

That should read "can't eat", obviously! The horror!

roseformyrose · 04/08/2015 15:06

Thanks for the input everyone, I feel less weird now! Think I've probably been overdoing it a bit lately (I randomly decided to move a pile of logs in the garden on Sunday) so will chill out a bit and see if that helps.

Sorry you didn't get to listen to the heartbeat tango, I'm with you on the countdown to the 20 week scan. I wouldn't worry about not feeling much - I haven't felt a thing yet! I'm 19 weeks on Friday and really looking forward to feeling the little passenger wiggling about.

roseformyrose · 04/08/2015 15:08

ahemily that sounds horrendous. I think the state of hunger I'm in at the moment I'd be gnawing the midwife's leg off halfway through the test...

Tangoandcreditcards · 04/08/2015 15:09

Rationally I know that it's ok for it to be a bit quiet now. I don't think I even felt DS before 22w, so was a bit shocked to get a kicking last week. Just was a bit grumpy not getting a listen the other day - I think last time DP didn't bother with the 16w appt and they DID listen to the heartbeat, and he was gutted he missed it. Dragging him up to the MW meant bringing DS, who threw a stressy tantrum in the waiting room about not being able to hare around and then we didn't even get a listen anyway, so it was extra annoying.

Poor you ahemily I don't think I can go 30 mins without eating, let alone 3 hours Sad

2 weeks til my scan, staying team yellow here.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 04/08/2015 17:52

I'm 19+1 and haven't felt any movement yet, just the stretchy ligament feelings. A week and a day until my scan.

Hope you're doing ok OhHoly, have been thinking of you.

horseylady · 04/08/2015 19:36

Two weeks till my scan (being done at 21weeks). Def finding out sex. I really want to know.

This little baby seems to like jumping on my bladder.

HopeItComesLate · 05/08/2015 14:54

Hope luck turns around for you and your dh ahemily And that everyones pains and cramps from the other night have eased off.
Still not sure where we stand on the house tango but will keep you all updated and thanks everyone for the advice.
Was throwing up all morning at work so asked to come home my boss counted it as refusing to work I was crying so much at this point I went home anyway booked Dr's for tomorrow. Just feel shit hes been so understanding till now :|
Hope everyones doing ok x

Ahemily · 05/08/2015 16:05

Oh god hope, that's awful! Have you been there long? What a horrible attitude, poor you. I hope the doctor can help tomorrow, sending anti-vomit vibes your way. Thanks

Queazy · 05/08/2015 17:14

Hope that sounds just horrible. What's 'refusal to work'? Him telling you can't go home sick? What an idiot Hmm
