Come put your feet up in the Zen den and let the dh's wait on us hand and foot whilst we nurture the fruit of their loins in our bellies :-)

I'm here too! This is a very good idea. So:

HeirToTheIronThrone, 32, baby #1, EDD 18 November 2015

dojo123 · 14/04/2015 22:09

Hello hello hello. I am firmly planting bum on seat with my sick bucket. The nausea is kicking in so I might need to just lie down the central aisle if you don't mind clambering over me to get to your seats!

Dojo 33 TTC#1 EDD# 9 December BFP# 30 March
6wks tomorrow and meeting the midwife.

dojo123 · 14/04/2015 22:11

I suppose I've done the TTC bit so it's BABY#1 unless it's twins!!! hahahaha (laughing hysterically as that's not completely out of the question with my families history)

ThePug · 14/04/2015 22:27

Good luck for your appointment tomorrow dojo I can't remember, did you self refer and skip out the GP appointment, so this is your first appt? Sorry the nausea has started though, hopefully it won't be constant.

chops did I see on another thread you were emetophobic? Me too shudders , am really really not looking forward to the nausea as I will be in a constant panic about it. Fortunately though still nothing going on here symptom wise, but actually starting thinking about poas to check I actually am pregnant Confused

HeirToTheIronThrone · 14/04/2015 22:32

ThePug I have continued to POAS... It's lucky you can get two for 99p in Home Bargains really. It's still 3 weeks until my scan and although I've had nausea and sore boobs etc I still need that reassurance. Might do another one in the morning to celebrate the 9 week mark...

God I sound insane don't I??

ThePug · 14/04/2015 22:46

Wow 9 weeks already Heir . That's almost 25% of the way there! Not insane at all re the poas I would do the same if we had a cheapo shop like HB anywhere near

I have a hospital appointment with my consultant on Friday and the clinic notes say they will give you a scan at around 7 weeks "to confirm a viable pregnancy". According to my LMP I will be 6+6 on Friday so hoping I can convince them to give me a scan there and then, which would be reassuring. Unless it is too early to be conclusive, as I didn't ovulate til CD17 so might really be more like 6+3ish, and might therefore only worry me more.

dojo123 · 14/04/2015 22:52

heir don't worry I peed on two sticks earlier today to reassure myself I was still pg.

pug I did initially ask to see a doctor but the one I wanted to see (who I saw when I mc'd in January) wasn't available. They asked me if I wanted to see someone else instead. I explained (at the time I was just over 4wks) that I had a positive pg result. they said that I could just go and see the midwife unless there was anything specific I wanted to see a doctor about. So I assume this is my booking in appt but going by some others this doesn't usually get done until 8wks so I'll let you guys know what happens. DH has luckily got the day off tomorrow so he can come along with me.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 14/04/2015 22:52

Oh wow - is that because you are under consultant care? I am apparently 'very normal' so wouldn't get anything until 12 weeks. It's mad that I self-referred to midwife so haven't seen my GP, and have had one midwife appt and some bloods done, but as far as I know no one had actually checked I am really pregant at any point. I could just be a mad fantasist for all they know!!

ThePug · 14/04/2015 23:05

Totally agree Heir, I haven't yet been asked to poas for a medical professional to prove anything either! It's the diabetes consultant I have to see in a special antenatal clinic as unfortunately diabetes makes pregnancy 'high risk' and is generally going to be a bit of a pain in the bum(snet) to manage I gather. Have to be super careful about maintaining good blood sugar levels so baby isn't either deformed in some way or grows too big. Or stupid - read somewhere that if exposed to high sugar levels in the first trimester it affects intelligence, which DH was particularly concerned about. No pressure, then! Had some bloods taken yesterday in advance of the clinic which should show how I've been doing over the last few weeks, fingers crossed they are ok. Occurs to me now that I should have asked them to do the hcg blood test whilst they were are at it, duh.

That's so lovely that your DH is going to your appt dojo. I've more or less told mine he has to come to the 20 week scan but other than that I don't think he's bothered about coming along to anything! Look forward to hearing how you get on tomorrow.

Giddymamma · 15/04/2015 06:58

Morning my sickly little pals! Thanks for setting up chops!

Nowt to report here, first appointment not til 5 May and that's just a booking in one.....

Good luck today dojo!

37, hopefully baby #2, edd 26 November.

Giddymamma · 15/04/2015 07:03

Pug, last time my oh was able to come to just about every appointment with me, as he's freelance. Thought it was lovely til we would get in the room and then he would read his paper, look bored and butt in every now and again with a random question such as "could I be a midwife?", "is it possible she's making this up, no one has tested her?" Etc. My favourite was when they were checking my iron levels had improved and asked me what previous levels had been last time. I couldn't remember, oh confidently said 9 (which would have been a good level, but it wasn't right at all). Midwife gave me a tutty look for knowing less than oh, I made her check with the labs, it was nowhere near 9..... Oh god. It's all coming back. Don't even get me started on him as a birthing partner.... Hmm

chopsface · 15/04/2015 12:36

How many weeks are you pug?

I'm struggling through my sandwhich in the tearoom. Was hoping not to feel so washed out and just 'different' this early on.... And yes I have vom-o-phobia :-(

Called the GP yesterday and they don't need to see me. I just need to pick up a pack from reception telling me when to phone to 'book in'

Hello ladies and congratulations on your BFP's I'm so happy for you all.

I've just been looking back at the April thread to see how everyone was getting on. Goodness me it looks like it has been eventful to say the least! But we shan't dwell on that here.

Fab news Victoria101/chops! Did I spot that Sparkly123 had her BFP? It's such a nice feeling when people you have chatted to on the buses get good news.

9 weeks today for me and I am popping out of my trousers Confused maybe it was the two lunches I just ate?!?!?!

Wishing you all a very happy and healthy nine months. Grin

HeirToTheIronThrone · 15/04/2015 15:35

Ninja I am 9 weeks today too! So we are pregancy buddies Grin

I think I am getting hay fever but I'm guessing medication is out? Joy...

dojo123 · 15/04/2015 17:28

Afternoon.

Well met with my midwife who seems absolutely lovely which is a relief. It was just an initial meeting, I am having my longer appointment with her at home next week were we will go through family history etc..

She did fill out my 12wk scan request form so that's exciting, should hopefully hear back from the hospital in the next couple of weeks with a date.
She did say that I would need to be consultant lead. I had expected it as I am overweight, had hoped to have lost some while TTC but obviously my body had other ideas. I won't meet the consultant until 12wks and unfortunately they don't arrange it at the same time as the scan so I will have to sort that out around work and hope my DH can attend both. I will need to have my blood tested at 28wks to check for gestational diabetes and then possibly checks every two week towards the end of the pregnancy in case of pre-eclampsia. Yes I am worried about both but I also appreciate that I am being kept an eye on.

So I have just been given the yellow book and another form to fill out before my apt next week. It is all feeling a bit more real which is amazing but scary at the same time.

Apart from all of that, no nausea today. I think that is because I have eaten little an often which I understand can aid the blood sugar levels and ease morning sickness. Not feeling too tired either which is good.

Going home in a sec to make a Thai, Green, Chicken curry. What are you lovely lot having for dinner tonight?

toadierocks · 15/04/2015 18:46

Hiya Ladies

Excellent start-up chops on a grad bus and congratulations on your BFP! big round of applause and claps to all Grin

Just plonking my pregnancy pillow down and marking my spot in the Nutella Cellar...... actually the thought of Nutella makes me a iccle queezy...... but dry rice cakes cellar does not have the same ring to it!

Toadierocks DC#2 EDD 7th Dec

Glad you've had your appointment Dojo and great news that you'll have your date booked in for your 12 week scan! Think I'll probs be consultant led too as I had Group Strep B last time and despite all efforts my DD caught it (she's totally fine but had 5 days in hosp after birth) so they'll be very cautious again this time round but I'm planning to do a private test for it so if it's negative I can plead to be let loose.

Hope everyone has had a lovely day in the sunshine x

HeirToTheIronThrone · 15/04/2015 18:57

That all sounds nice and positive Dojo If you are at all interested we are having jacket potatoes. I have really been craving tuna but I know you're not meant to have too much, so that will be my treat tonight never thought I would view tinned fish as a treat

chopsface · 15/04/2015 20:15

I have awful wind Blush

OP posts:
dojo123 · 15/04/2015 20:36

heir if your body wants it, it can have it in moderation with the tuna though

chops err joining you on that one too. Just went for a lovely evening walk with the DH and the whole time I was apologising for both ends!

ThePug · 16/04/2015 09:26

Sorry I was awol yesterday - had brown spotting when wiping all day yesterday and then again this morning so have been feeling a bit down about it all. It is nothing much but that combined with lack of many symptoms is worrying me. Appointment with my consultant tomorrow morning can't come soon enough now!

dojo Is the yellow book what becomes your 'maternity notes'? Glad your first appt went well and you have your main one coming up soon.

toadie Can I ask why you would rather not be consultant led? Does it change the care you get / how much say you get in things a lot?

toadierocks · 16/04/2015 10:07

Morning ladies

pug it's just location for me, I live out the back end of nowhere but there is a midwife who comes out to the doctors surgery every other week, if I was consultant let I'd have to head into the hospital (which is about 40 mins each way) every time. If you are consultant led it may pop you into the higher risk category for varying reasons, I'm really hoping for a home birth this time and they won't let you do that if you're high risk, at least not where I am.

I hope you are ok and there has been no more spotting since the last lot, what time is your appointment? Spotting can be very common in early pregnancy, especially brown spotting, its usually just the cervix grumbling and remember brown means old blood. Thinking of you hun

chopsface · 16/04/2015 10:11

Hope the spotting stops and you see your consultant soon pug thinking of you x x

ThePug · 16/04/2015 11:05

Thanks toadie & chops - just went to the loo for another knickerwatch, still a bit of brown when wiping but not much. As in tmi by the second wipe it was clean. Consultant appt is at 9.20 tomorrow morning which is good. Just phoned my GP surgery to try and get the blood test results I had on Monday (which say how well I've been managing my sugar levels and will be a key thing my consultant will be looking at) but the bastards wouldn't give them to me as they haven't yet been reviewed by the GP. Was hoping they would be good (as I've been trying really hard) and it would give me a mental boost. sigh

Keep checking in on the ttc thread for updates to see how Sparkly has got on this morning. Cannot imagine what it has been like for her the last few days.
