Hi cariad, lovely to see you here; hopefully this is third time lucky for you!

We've just come back from a wedding, which was nice but also rather exhausting. (And my god the day can drag when you're not allowed to drink...). We've told close family about the pregnancy already as they all know about our struggles, so at least I didn't have to make up any excuses!

Had a couple of slip ups today though regarding food: first at breakfast I had some fried egg which had a runny yolk, and then I started eating some fruit cake before realising it probably had been soaked in brandy! Oops. Blush

Symptoms wise I'm still quite thirsty and have that funny dry mouth feeling, boobs are a little sore, feeling generally a bit bleurghy, peeing lots and waking up really hungry during the night and in the morning.

Wow this thread has started moving the last couple of days - welcome aboard all the new BFP'ers!

Thanks for the stats toadie - so exciting to see a list of due dates. I am apprehensive like the rest of you though about things that could go wrong/

I'm in the no energy camp. Have just got back from two days at the in-laws and am exhausted! SiL and 2yo nephew were there too so had lots of fun keeping him entertained but it was also very draining, as were all the long countryside dog walks. Was given a glass of wine on Friday night (couldn't decline as MiL was opening the bottle we brought her back from honeymoon in December especially) - pretended to drink it throughout the meal then DH helpfully had some large gulps to 'taste' it and it was almost gone. Only ended up drinking 1.5 normal cups of tea too - managed to covertly slip decaf tea bags into my mug most of the time by offering to make it or getting DH to.

I so wanted to spill the beans a few times, like to confide in SiL when we were bathing DN that this was good practice etc but I managed not to blab to anyone!

Symptoms wise I have no nausea yet. My boobs are a bit tender and seem to have filled out a bit yay and I have constant lower backache.

I'm 5+1 today, liking the sound of this being 1/8th of the way through!

Komnu · 05/04/2015 19:14

Hello all! How's everyone doing? I've got a fun new symptom back already from my last pregnancy - waking at 4am. WHHHYYYYY????? With my DD it only started later on in the pregnancy but the last three nights it's started happening again Hmm Hopefully it won't continue for another 34 weeks!!!

ThePug · 05/04/2015 19:37

Komnu Both dojo and I were saying on another thread we'd woken up around 4am last week. Must be something going on with hormones wizzing around at that time I reckon Hmm

Komnu · 05/04/2015 19:52

Weird! Maybe it's nature's way of getting us used to night wakings once the babies are here!

Metalhead · 05/04/2015 20:28

I'm waking at least twice a night to pee, so definitely good practice!

Thanks sparkle, I wasn't too worried about eating those things, I guess it just proves that I'm still not really in the pregnant mindset as I simply wasn't thinking about what I was doing.

hellsbells552 · 05/04/2015 20:51

Thanks toadie, love a spreadsheet! I'm 31yo [1st baby though].

aletea · 05/04/2015 21:17

I'm tired, and travel sick but no other symptoms yet. Although I'm only 3+1, ha ha!

aletea · 05/04/2015 21:17

Oh, and bad sleep and weird dreams when I do!

Sweets27 · 05/04/2015 22:14

Evening ladies, welcome and congrats hells and cariad! Smile

metal, I'm same as you - keep eating things without thinking. I'm sure it can't be a disaster, given lots of people don't realise they are pregnant for a while and have been eating all sorts of things. Anyway, hopefully practice makes perfect...!

Symptoms wise, reassured that in not the only one not feeling nauseous - not that I want to feel sick, but I'm clinging onto anything at the moment that reassures me I'm actually pregnant! Currently just sore boobs and very slight, dull, achey period-type cramps.

alphabook · 05/04/2015 22:15

I keep having weird dreams too, last two nights I've dreamed that DH has abandoned me in a foreign country and I was on my own trying to figure out how to get home...not sure what that's meant to symbolise!

Sweets27 · 05/04/2015 22:16

Oh and pug, well done for not spilling the beans! That must've been really hard. Next time I see my little nieces and nephews I'll really be struggling not to blab to their parents...

Sweets27 · 05/04/2015 22:18

Oh no alpha! What a horrible dream! Come to think of it, I've been dreaming a lot more too, but nothing very dramatic - vivid and a bit surreal, but mostly about work or home or fairly mundane things. I didn't realise it was a pregnancy symptom.

alphabook · 06/04/2015 06:48

Maybe it's related to disturbed sleep Sweets - I know I tend to have really vivid dreams when I've woken up and fallen back asleep.

WhatsForYeWontGoByYe · 06/04/2015 08:14

Oh, that's weird - am also regularly waking at 3/4am cos I'm busting for a pee and having bizarre, restless dreams.

What's also weird is my DD, 20 months, has started stroking and kissing my tummy and this morning pointed at my belly button and said "baby!" Freaked me right out. We haven't talked about it in front of her as I haven't wanted to create any potential anxiety until we're into the safe zone.

Psychic toddler. That's really not what I need Hmm

Welcome cariad, fx this is the time for you x

I've also been having strange dreams and not sleeping very well, I.e. Waking up at crazy o'clock.

What's that's weird about your daughter! Are any of her friends mums pg?

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday. Is a normal day today in Spain the bank hols were thurs and fri here, so when my hubby gets back from a bike ride we are going to do a bit of souvenir clothes shopping and I need to get some postcards to send.

For those of you that are second timers what info do I need for booking in appts? Haven't told my mum yet as my grandad died a couple of weeks ago and don't want to upset her if this goes wrong. Just wondering if I need information from her?

hellsbells552 · 06/04/2015 09:37

WFYWGBY, a psychic baby you say? There's probably good money to be made there ;-) Alternatively she could be the one to announce the news when the time comes :-)

When I got up to pee in the night I checked the clock and it was 4:00am on the dot! I'm going to call it the witching weeing hour.

Metalhead · 06/04/2015 10:05

shiny I think they ask you some questions about general family medical history like diabetes, heart disease etc, but nothing too detailed and I'm sure it wouldn't be the end of the world if you missed something out and told them later on.

shinysparklythings · 06/04/2015 10:20

Thanks metal I think I know most of the history. I can't wait to tell my mum but want to avoid unnecessary heartache. ill probably tell her before 12 weeks but seems to early at the minute.

hells I got up but forgot to check the time! Will try and remember tonight!

WhatsForYeWontGoByYe · 06/04/2015 10:50

hells I love the idea of a weeing hour. I only just made it last night Blush - just you wait, first timers!

shiny I can't remember much, tbh. They weighed me, asked family history questions. I think it lasted a good 1.5 hours in total. I don't think you need to go prepared - they'll just do all the asking! It was a bit of a disappointment. I expected balloons and celebrations but it was so run-of-the-mill.

I guess maybe just try to remember all the family illnesses on both sides (your DP's too) and think up any questions you might want to ask about the birth/your antenatal care etc.

My DD is generally strange lovely. No-one else we know is pregnant, and I certainly haven't pointed out that babies are grown in tummies, or anything. Thing is, I REALLY don't need her knowing what I'm thinking. For example, 'come on darling, bath time' is far better than the truth, which is more 'get your ass in bed pronto because mummy needs wine and a nice lie down'.

Anyone booked in to see their GP yet?

I have a bit of a WWYD question. One hospital is about 7 mins in the car from me, but its maternity unit has a very bad reputation. I had my DD in another hospital, which has an amazing reputation, but it's at least half an hour away - or 45 minutes in rush hour traffic, which is what I had to put up with last time Hmm. It was nothing less than pure torture.

So, which hospital do I book into? I'd rather go to the amazing one, as when things went wrong at the end of my last labour they were fab. But proximity is very seductive, and it would mean my scans etc were far easier to get to....

WhatsForYeWontGoByYe · 06/04/2015 11:07

I had a reeeeeeaaally long latent stage last time - three days of contractions, that kept building up and then stopping completely. On repeat.

Got to hospital day 4 at 6cm and it was another 12 hours before DD was wrenched out of me finally born.

So I should have plenty of time, but the next one might come shooting out without warning Grin. That's certainly what I'm aiming for.

alphabook · 06/04/2015 11:15

I'm a first timer but if my local maternity unit had a really bad reputation I think I would go elsewhere.

Amazing about the psychic toddler!

I have a GP appointment booked for Friday, and I'm going to call my fertility consultant tomorrow. Has anyone on here got pregnant after fertility treatment? I seem to remember them saying I'd get an early scan but I'm not sure if I'll just be discharged from fertility now I'm pregnant?
