Good luck daholster I know it's unreasonable to expect ongoing updates but I will miss them once you're in labour! GrinFlowers

Lauren82000 · 09/04/2015 10:22

Kismac your DH made me chuckle. Mine gave me the midnight nudge last week, it didn't help either. Hmm

Going to do the ironing in a bit hopefully some standing around will put some pressure on the old cervix. Smile Might even give the skirting boards a once over.

RL20 · 09/04/2015 10:37

Thanks all for the 'shit the widow' digs Grin. Not even sure if I can blame autocorrect on that one!

Good to hear you're being treated right Daholster! Hope it continues for you.

Hope things get moving for you Wine Grin.

Thinking about Siarie, Boo and Brixton. Hope they are all ok. I'm not on the Facebook page yet so no idea if they've updated on there.

Has baby woken up properly now, Annia?

Sorry about you're boiler trouble, Hiding. That's got to be a good few of us now who have had boiler trouble through pregnancy!

I wonder where BananaToast has got to? She is one of my EDD buddies! Unless I've missed her posts!

Just realised we are nearing the end of another thread! Shock It had only been 11 days on this thread so far!

Squidge14 · 09/04/2015 11:02

Morning Ladies!

Firstly congratulations to everyone that is on 'the other side' now and good luck to everyone in the throws of labour at the moment (there are a lot of you for 1 day!)

I've been useless at catching up only just caught up since the last thread Shock have been keeping up on FB though...

so I have today and tomorrow left at work then that's me done Grin I will miss everyone but I am looking forward to being on Mat leave now, the house still looks like a building site so desperately trying to get that in some sort of order in the next week or so my OH has been amazing trying to get everything done, fingers crossed we have carpets and a fully functional house before the baby comes!

I'm 37+3 today been feeling a bit more achey and tired lately and a bit uncomfortable especially at night, baby feels like it is trying to find the exit, sods law says they will come early when I need them to hang around until at least their due date!

Hope everyone is feeling ok and soldiering on for the last slog Wink

ChickenMe · 09/04/2015 11:14

Our boiler broke when we were in the hospital RL!
Nothing on FB yet. I'm permanently watching as I'm stuck to the sofa with DD who has been on the boob for two hours and wont be put down.

FiRaffe · 09/04/2015 11:21

Hehe chicken, I keep checking and hoping that the ladies have progressed as it seems to be being so difficult for Cinnamon and Sairie.

I'm still sitting in bed... have put the dishwasher on but probably should do some other things and make DH's cake. Impressed with your ironing Lauren, we have a mini board that has to go on the dining table to be a good height, and I can't get to the table it means nothing will be ironed!

Been for two laps round the hospital which I measured on endomondo and its 1.35miles each lap and contractions seem to be getting a little stronger. Just lost a lot of show when I went to the loo. Had to make dh calm down a lot when he got here but we have now spoken to midwife and they are going to get a Dr to reassure us about the baby's condition. I'm still waiting for a room to have waters broken unless these contractions really ramp up and then they'll have to take me!

Glad they've got you going quickly daholster! Drip shouldn't take long, I went from 5-10cms in 5hrs with ds1.

Hope work treat you well on your last days Squidge14 and you get lovely leaving bits!

smogsville · 09/04/2015 11:38

Great news cinnamon! As always I am so impressed by your optimism and positivity.

Daholster - you're not wrong but we parted on good terms with me offering to sort the dry cleaning. After all it's not as if I've never had a hangover and been grumpy Blush. Anyway more to the point, good luck!

Good news on the baby movements Annia.

FiRaffe that sounds like a nice day, what kind of cake are you making? Am at home with DD this morning, she was delighted to help me wash dry and prepare vegetables to roast, it's nice to find something we can do together that a) isn't a yawnsome game and b) actually achieves something. Also she likes the sauce we've blended up. Hooray.

Bad luck on the boiler hiding. Re DH presents this year I am going to get mine a kite as DD keeps asking for one and I think it might be nice for them to have something they can go and do for an hour or so on the common while I look after the newbie (his bday is in June).

Underwood good luck at your assessment thing today. Mine is on Monday, probably going to have to take DD with so that will be fun as from memory it basically involves being hooked up to a machine and sitting quietly for a while! Hmmm.

LOL for your DTD kismac. I won't let DH near me now, with a week to go until section date.

cinnamongreyhound · 09/04/2015 11:39

We need a new thread!!

mswibble · 09/04/2015 11:40

grabs pompoms! I'll join the troupe to cheer you all on! Its a busy old time of it here, how many babies are on their way? 5? Exciting!

squidge make sure you do not do too much! I know its tempting when your house is turned upside down (looks around at the piles of displaced stuff - Sad). I didn't listen to my own advice and now I can barely move as I've pulled my back. Now I'm bored and frustrated as I'm still surrounded by mess but I can't even do anything about it!

Has anyone else been diagnosed with Group Strep B? I've just had a letter through from Triage at the Maternity Unit to tell me a swab I had last week has tested positive for GBS. No real info at all apart from a sticker to stick on my notes and instructions to discuss with midwife. Well I'm not due to see her until next Wednesday at which point I'll be 39wks. What if I start early?!

Oooh new thread will be needed v soon...who is going to do the honours?
I wonder if my bambino will be here before Thread 16 has been filled?!

ChickenMe · 09/04/2015 11:41

Oh nothing worse than poxy birds chirping away all smug when you've had little sleep.
DD doing that air raid siren noise. Appears to be asleep but after ten minutes she starts the siren - getting louder and louder and all my hopes are dashed. Can see why people used to give the baby booze on a dummy!Grin

ChickenMe · 09/04/2015 11:46

Mrs w afaik if you have GBS you will get IV antibiotics for the labour. My understanding is its in the birth canal so they can catch it on the way out. I got IV antibiotics as I had a premature membrane rupture. My friend had GBS diagnosed before labour and had the IV too. If your waters break or anything starts off in the meantime I would contact the Hosp straight away and tell them about the GBS.

RL20 · 09/04/2015 11:49

Isn't it difficult at this stage when baby's movements have changed from kicks to more 'sliding' and just general movement. I think it was FiRaffe that mentioned the other day how it makes you unsure of yourself as to whether the movements are still normal or not. Hmm.
Don't get me wrong, I've had movements today I just don't know whether they've been as strong? He is moving now as I'm typing though, probably telling me to stop fretting.
Will keep an eye on the movements anyway

BrixtonBunny · 09/04/2015 11:54

Just popping in to say I'm still in labour limbo. Some very intense and painful contractions for the last two nights, have barely slept, but tailing off in the daytime. Baby was back to back but the midwife thinks it's turned a bit which would be good. Going to spend today going for walks, being on all fours, and trying to rest a bit. The community midwife team are beyond incredible, so supportive of me still trying for a home birth and also supporting me to try and hold out as long as possible before going to hospital for checks (guidelines suggest induction after 24 hours of water breaking, which I'm totally not down with - it's been 48 hours and I'm fine, taking my temp every three hours to monitor for risk of infection).

Will catch up ASAP, pretty knackered. Come on babies!!

40+1

Hope things improve Brixton and the walking works cinnamon.

Yep RL was me about movements being different. Baby has now decided to move all day rather than majorly in the evenings, just to confuse me I think!

I'm making the Lorraine Pascale I can't believe you made that cake with raspberry and cream filling rather than buttercream... I think! Still waiting for the butter to soften at the mo.

Definitely need a new thread, but don't know if I can on my phone. If no-one has when I get back i'll boot the laptop up...need somewhere to keep up with all the updates etc!

mswibble · 09/04/2015 12:11

I think from your advice, and Dr Google i shouldnt wait for my contractions to get to 5mins apart as previously told, need to ring them straight away and tell them im GBS +ve. Cripes, the rate at which I have gone from being classed as a low risk birth, suitable for the midwife led unit and a water birth to now testing blood sugars 4times a day, needing IV drips, etc is astonishing! Just goes to show how little control we have over this whole process.
Aaaand diabetes nurse has just rang and I have until Monday to try to reign in my blood sugar results or insulin and inducement will be on the cards. Shock

Fi I haven't got round to it yet, got distracted bleaching the grout in the bathroom and scrubbing. My poor back is killing now so I'm having a rest while I wait for my lunch to cook then I can get cracking on it. Quite happy with the bathroom scrub and the contents of the bath plug hole was so disgusting the hair ball was bigger than my fist! Blush I must be shedding a lot, I thought that was only supposed to happen after the baby and the hormones calm down? I also wiped the skirting boards, doors and radiators upstairs. Perhaps I'll do downstairs tomorrow. Smile
