Ahh head well down but it's back to back! She really hurt me feeling for engagement too I'm very tender there. She told me no more ball and get on my hands and knees. Confused Best go get my lightbulb now before I have to crawl around the house.

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 14:46

Hands and knees or leaning forwards on a backwards dining room chair I was told Lauren82000.

Tightenings have started so feeling much more positive!! Baby still happy and they are registering 50+ on monitor so looking good. Three ladies around me have moved from paracetamol to codine so looks like they may have beaten me, the race is on Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 14:52

Sounds like my ds1 Misty414, could well be reflux. Glad you're being seen, no one ever diagnosed his but from reading around and his symptoms I'm sure he had it. Hated laying flat and projectile vomited after every feed, luckily he took loads so was still able to gain weight well. He did get very colicky too and I found baby massage helped a lot. And found the tiger in the tree hold which I'm sure you can google was his happiest. Good luck with Dr.

londonlivvy · 08/04/2015 15:02

I'm joining the gang in Day Assessment. fun fun.

I went for 40 week appt and measured 36 (vs 38 at 38 weeks) so much discussion about whether they could do a sweep. Midwife consulted hospital who said go ahead and do sweep then send her to us for ctg. ao I've organised a babysitter and schlepped up to the hospital. Hopefully I will also get agreement for eviction at 41 weeks. I'm v conscious of my age (I'm 3 months off 40. if I were 40 I would be being induced today) and conscious I've had two cousins have late still births so am a bit of a nervous wreck.

let's hope I'm not here all day!

Siarie · 08/04/2015 15:06

For God sake, still waiting for this fucking doctor to prescribe the gel. It's been five hours now

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 15:08

The lady opposite me is being induced at 39+ because she's over 40 londonlivvy but said the guidelines are changing? I don't think its a finite thing, placenta doesn't go for working well to crumpling overnight so try not to worry. I was 42 weeks with both mine and has beautifully healthy placentas when they were delivered. Good luck with your ctg, quite therapeutic to listen to baby's heart rate although I didn't find it so at 11.30 last night Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 15:08

Really sucks Sairie Sad

Lauren82000 · 08/04/2015 15:35

God I'm so uncomfortable since the mw poked me Confused I'm trying to be positive that everything is pretty much ready to go just got to get the baby to swivel. Mw was all doom and gloom and told me to start aiming for 6th May instead of anytime soon. As that's the point of being induced.

Can I ask a silly question though? How do you do figure 8s on your hands and knees is it side to side or up and down? I'm having a bit of baby brain and struggling to do it. Confused

TinyTear · 08/04/2015 15:35

Siarie, can you call someone to check you haven't been forgotten in a shift change?
I had to do it once last week when they forgot my painkillers

Lauren82000 · 08/04/2015 15:40

Oh and baby hasn't grown much again but she never said anything not sure if she was bothered or didn't notice? Grown a cm in 2 weeks so only measuring 36 at 38. She did sort of hint it was because I'm 4/5th engaged. So length should be shorter. Hmm

RL20 · 08/04/2015 15:44

Siarie - 5 hours? Shock. Like TinyTear said, give them a gentle reminder that you are still there! Have you had to be lying down all of that time too? Or have you been able to walk around or get fresh air? Or are you not supposed to (ConfusedI don't know about all of this, sorry!).

Lauren I always find I feel a bit tender after being poked and prodded by midwives too!
RE measurements, according to mine, he happened to 'shrink' at one point as I was measuring 34 at 34 and then 32 at 36! (Or something like that, I can't remember now!Blush). Went for a growth scan to be told all was fine with his measurements, but 'isn't a big baby, more average'. And then at my last appointment last week at 37 weeks, the measurement was accurate to the week.
So will be interesting - but yet a little bit nervous - to see what he's measuring next week at my 39 week appointment!

Londonlivvy sorry you're having those worries! But I agree with cinnamon, if everything has been ok up until now, it should be fine! Good luck.

Good luck Cinnamon.

RL20 · 08/04/2015 15:46

Just realised my overuse of the words week/weeks in my reply to you Lauren ConfusedGrin

FiRaffe · 08/04/2015 16:17

Hope things are processing cinnamon and Sairie go and poke them!

Hope those being assessed are all Ok and getting the progress you want!

Am just home from meeting a friend and really uncomfortable.had to pick up some bits for DH's birthday and our anniversary tomorrow and people kept commenting how tired I looked. ..nice!

RL20 · 08/04/2015 16:27

Aw why do you feel uncomfortable FiRaffe? I suppose it doesn't help when you've got people commenting on things like that! Really isn't necessary is it?!
I have looked at myself recently though and thought how tired I'm looking! My makeup looks awful every day! Oh well, it'll all be worth it! Grin.

Way to help a pregnant woman felt better FiRaffe, tell her she looks shit! People just don't think Flowers

Lauren82000 you do measure smaller if baby is back to back as there's no sticky out spine/bum etc. the figure of 8 is forwards and backwards, imagine going from you left bum cheek to right shoulder, round at the front to your left shoulder and back to your right bum cheek and round.

Hope you've been seen now Sairie!

londonlivvy · 08/04/2015 17:01

Thanks cinnamon for the reassurance. I know that placentas don't necessarily dissolve at 40 weeks, but as I say, the combination of factors makes me nervous. Docs were happy to induce me then and there, should I have wanted to. I felt like i should give peanutella a bit more time so I'm scheduled to evict her on Monday if she's not her by then. But definitely feeling tightenings already so think that the sweep must have done something!

Hope you've now had the pessary sairie

cowbiscuits · 08/04/2015 17:08

Checking in to see if there's any new babies since last night! Hope you're all ok.

I've taken the cover off the baby car seat and washed it, god knows how I will get it back on again. Poor wee second child is having everything second hand, remember how pristine it all was for DS. Tomorrow I get my car hoovered and cleaned before I can get the car seat in it. Am so unprepared.

And I have a sore spot right at the front of my bump, as if my skin is too tight in that spot. Anyone else have this? It's really annoying me.

RL20 I'd forgotton how often new babies need nappy changes. My DS used to poop on nearly every feed sometimes!! At least it's nicer than toddler poo.

37+5 today.

daholster · 08/04/2015 17:27

cowbiscuits yes I have that sore bit, either where he presses too long or where the muscles at the top are pulling apart in the middle. Both are painful!!!

Go cinnamon, go cinnamon waves flags and toots vuvuzelas you can overtake those first timers!

London how stressful for you. Don't hesitate to contact them if you are worried in between now and Monday and get checked out asap.

Lauren lots of floor cleaning! Hoping this one isn't back to back for me this time... I'm definitely on my feet more this pregnancy and I'm hoping that will be enough!

I measured 2cm behind last week too and he was only 4/5 and the midwife wasn't worried.

Had a contraction a few minutes ago. Waiting to see if there are any more. He definitely feels like he is trying to burrow out this afternoon, and I keep worrying he's going to make my waters pop!!!

siarie complain!!! Omg! I have worked in a hospital and I would have been horrified if I thought someone had waiting that long with no updates, I hope its just a mistake.

daholster · 08/04/2015 17:28

PS Lauren I don't see why you should go over, why is the midwife being so pessimistic?! How odd, you still have a couple of weeks right?

Lauren82000 · 08/04/2015 17:42

Thanks cinnamon that's what I was doing but it made my hip click and didn't feel very fluid so thought I was doing it wrong. (I'm just a stiff jointed person it seems)

Daholster I hate that mw. I had her with DD and promptly swapped her for a new one after 1 appointment when she sent me away mid booking appointment and I didn't get scanned or see anyone else till I was 15weeks! This time I just thought I'd give her a go and she's been ok so far but today she just made me feel so poo about it all. I mean her opening line was, I thought you'd have had this one by now. Hmm She basically contradicted herself all the way through and made it sound like back to back babies were impossible to birth and it was my fault I'd made the head so engaged in the wrong position from bouncing on my ball. Her parting words were lets hope the next time I see you is at home with the baby. Shock I mean make your mind up woman you either think I should have already popped, definitely going over or will of had it in the next 2 weeks! Oh and she told me to spend time on my knees but I had to ask her how long to do that for before she actually explained several times a day for 2mins and best to do figure 8s so it'll open my pelvic bones. Now why didn't she just say that in the first place instead of assuming.

Hope to god she isn't on delivery suite when I'm in labour or I'll cry, Confused

Lauren82000 · 08/04/2015 17:44

Meant 20mins not 2 Grin

PenguinPoser · 08/04/2015 17:44

Yeah cinnamon I think dd is attached to my boob at least 8 hours in 24. Possibly a little more. Spoke to a mum this morning whose LO feeds for 5-10min per feed and is piling on weight, but he was 9 weeks old and she said it hadn't always been like that.
Hope things are moving on for you!

And you siarie that's absolutely ridiculous. Surely it's a 2 min job to prescribe the pessary so even if they're busy...!!

londonlivvy hope things start in the next few days but at least you have a plan if not.

lauren hope baby moves from back to back but at least head down is a good start!

Firaffe don't listen to her! Flowers although I know I look tired now but at least it's for a good reason so I don't even care about putting my makeup on anymore!
