Babies are now coming thick and fast... Let's see how many will come on this thread! Grin

Cavetroll I am LOLZING at your fanjo comment! I also agree that most fuss = most attention. As you say it probably shouldn't be that way but I've always found that firm, polite insistence goes a long way.

Thoughts going out to everyone who is waiting to get going.

Misty yes defo push to be seen.

Ditto Siarie - ring that bell. Or get your DH to remonstrate on your behalf. The only reason we managed to leave hospital after DD born was bc DH basically harassed every passing member of staff to get various things signed and discharged.

cowbiscuits - car seat and buggy clean is a weekend job for us. I think I might be going for a vigorous wiping session rather than machine clean though.

RL20 · 08/04/2015 17:57

Hoping things have got moving for you now Siarie, as you haven't posted.

Well had a mad couple of hours nesting/cleaning and now I can't be bothered to do dinner! Oops.
My actual job for today was to clean the bathroom but I haven't actually got round to it, so will probably do that tomorrow! Ended up just tidying the kitchen a bit, doing the washing up, cleaned 3 pairs of other half's trainers that were thick with mud (actually found that quite therapeutic!), and made a start of packing away baby's clothes and nappies etc into the changing table.
Now in one of those moods where I really don't know what to do for dinner.

ChickenMe · 08/04/2015 18:00

Thinking of cinnamon and Siarie. As a first timer I was shocked how you are just left to it in the early stages and they don't tell you what's going on either-I had to make a right pest of myself (I went in due to PROM and I felt like I was bottom priority as was left for 60 hours).

My DD is 3.5 weeks old and she is cluster feeding at night. Hell. Last night was just desperate. Feeding for two hours at a time :"( OH took her away and I managed to kip for a solid hour.

I hope things are happening for both Cinnamon and Siarie

I've done to much today I ache, I've cleaned the bathroom including the towel and bedding cupboard, reorganised the babies wardrobe, repacked my hospital bags, washed and hoovered the car and been for a walk. I'm going to have a bath and an early night to ease my bump ache.

kismac · 08/04/2015 18:13

Daft question. Just reading my notes and it says baby is free. My auntie poked me couple weeks ago and said baby was 3/5 engaged. I know they can pop in and out for second timers but surely for first timer they settle? Bit confused as I can feel lots of pressure in my pelvis. Hmmm.

cinnamongreyhound · 08/04/2015 18:14

Hope you have a good bedtime SquattingNeville, have a good cry if you need to made me feel better today!

Yes to sore patch on bump cowbiscuits, think it's just tight skin.

We're all still here daholster! We've been for many laps around the whole hospital site and it's very uncomfortable on my cervix while I'm walking but no tightenings so far. Was hoping I would spend another night on my own trying to sleep through monitors but looks like it's not meant to be Sad
On the tiny plus side there is a lady in a bay near me who's baby is in special care so looks like I will have somewhere to stay if baby does get admitted.

RL20 · 08/04/2015 18:17

Wine you go for your bath and get some rest! I think we over-do it without realising.

Aw Squatting. Would just lying down and resting help? Sometimes it can be (nearly) as helpful as actual sleep. I haven't got another child so excuse me if I sound silly, but try and see tonight with just you and your DS as quality time together before new arrival is here! Smile.

Have just decided to use up some of the random things we have in the cupboards etc for dinner. So I'm doing chicken mini fillets which I'll just fry, pasta in a sauce, chips (havnt got many chips left so boiling a few potatoes to add in!) and some crusty bread. Carb overload Blush. Might nip to the shop to get some coleslaw to make it all look a bit healthier...

Lauren82000 · 08/04/2015 18:21

Think I might pull the weeds in the garden tomorrow. That's a hands and knees job right. Wink

DH is being very unsupportive of horrid mw. Basically said to me I don't care if she was horrible she's the medical expert and wouldn't let me explain more than I had.Shock I growled at him and said the baby is fine, he didn't want to listen so sod him if his game on the ipad is more important than listening to me. I must be that way out tonight so no doubt I'll get my head bitten off later for being grumpy. Hmm

Still in pain from where I was poked too. It's an intermittent stabbing pain on the left hand side. Confused

RL20 · 08/04/2015 18:37

Ouch Lauren, I always feel a bit uncomfortable but she shouldn't have poked you to the point of stabbing pain hours later!

Wow - so much going on! I can't keep up...
siarie I hope you are not still waiting around for the gel... I had that experience with ds and was really unimpressed with the lack of updates over so many hours. So frustrating that you have to keep on them for any kind of info. Hang in there!
cinnamon i hope things start moving along for you...

And everyone else in hospital good luck!

I have had ds home with me yesterday and today so not been able to keep up with all the action on here. In-laws arriving tonight so will get a break tomorrow before the big event Friday. Shock

Hope all of you that are in pain & discomfort are finding some relief!

brummagem · 08/04/2015 19:07

Just smashed a thai green curry with 4 green chillis in it. Noms. Bump and BH are both having a party. think gaviscon will be on the pudding menu Grin

lauren surely that pain can't be normal even after a prodding from mw? Was she built like an East German shot putter trying to tenderise a steak? Sounds pretty intense! Hope it all sorts its out soon!

Would love a bath but our boiler has packed up so need letting agent to fix it which can't do til Friday had to wash up using kettle boiling earlier lol

RL20 · 08/04/2015 19:30

Brummagem I had the boiler problem a few weeks back. Absolute nightmare (flat below us had a leak which was supposedly coming from our boiler). Took over a week for them to sort it all out so we had no heating, washing machine etc. but yes I did some washing up after boiling the water on the hobs (did I mention our kettle had also packed in!) and it was a nightmare! Taking clothes washing back and forth to my mums (in turn I gave her our big box of washing powder bought from Makro!). So I can sympathise, hopefully they do sort it on Friday for you!

daholster · 08/04/2015 19:33

Just woke from a nap and went to the loo and wiped away a lot of diluted bloody stuff. Waters don't appear to have gone. Midwife said it sounds like a show and may not mean much but has taken my name in case I need to ring back. How interesting. Not ready!!!!! Shock didn't have this last time!

39+1

daholster · 08/04/2015 19:43

chicken it sounds v distressing for you. The Dr is worrying about an emergency called pyloric stenosis where food cannot move through the stomach at all and causes pain, often weight loss and projectile vomiting unlike reflux. But I, like you would hate to watch my DC suffer with anything like that and I hope your HV is helpful tomorrow Flowers

FiRaffe · 08/04/2015 20:02

Ooh hope things are moving daholster and you are getting progress cinnamon and sairie!

Hope things are okay too chicken and things are resolved soon.

Had a bit of a flat pack fail with the cot so need to change the ends over after tea! At least that's the last bit of furniture to build then need to get a mattress and the baby can put in an appearance(guaranteed to mean they are late!)

Stabbing pain seems to have calmed down now. I did flinch and say ow when she was poking but she only poked firmly I'm just very tender there must be because of baby's position. Hmm

Mmm just had steak and chips for tea and finished it off with tinned fruit and my favourite icecream. (Cherry vanilla. Like raspberry ripple but with cherry ripple instead) still looking for something but I'll leave it for a bit and then raid the Easter egg drawer in the fridge.

Hope everyone in hospital is getting somewhere with their inductions it can be hell waiting around. I was in a private room and got ignored quite a bit but was nice afterwards when I had just me and DD in our own little bubble. Smile

daholster · 08/04/2015 20:33

Ok so last time my plug was thick slimy mucus stuff. This is thin and slimy and drips like water when I stand up. Still red/pink and thin. Waters do you think? Just have back ache. Trying a 5 minute lie down then stand... Trying to get dd to bed!!!

daholster · 08/04/2015 20:34

What I mean is, anyone who has lost a plug before... Has it been thin? Baby is not really moving much now, eek, wish he'd wriggle.

Lauren82000 · 08/04/2015 20:37

I've been having very thin discharge that drips but it's not bloody sorry. If in doubt give them a ring. I'm sure I've read somewhere that plug can be thin or slimy.

I'm leaking same kinda stuff- watery sometimes pinkish tinge- for a few days. Soaks liners so have to wear pads- been assuming it CM. It trickles rather than gushes on standing....lovely

kismac · 08/04/2015 20:53

He he. Isn't pregnancy gross. Very jealous of everyone's plugs. Ha ha.

I ate an entire box of Ritz crackers for dinner.
