Babies are now coming thick and fast... Let's see how many will come on this thread! Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
RL20 · 29/03/2015 21:12

Yes I agree - that would be very embarrassing! Blush I would just get on with it!? Even if I was silently seething!

Chiliplant my EDD is the 20th and I don't think the fear will properly set in until around that date! Although I know that baby could ultimately come anytime he wants to, now!
I haven't had any Braxton Hicks as yet but a lot of pushing around in there! Mainly on my left side, almost as if he's trying to make his way round to my back!

Lauren82000 · 29/03/2015 21:17

Probably shouldn't have eaten all that leek and hamhock gratin. It was Tesco finest and very scrummy but I'm a bit too full now. Confused Can't even go and lie down in bed for a bit or I'll get heartburn!

smogsville · 29/03/2015 21:27

Brixton that sounds like a proper feast.

Lauren I've just demolished a cheese board, allocating much more to myself than to DH so I say eat when you feel the urge. That gratin sounds like the business.

Chili it's normal to feel like that. We were bloody terrified when we first brought DD home, so much so that we woke her up for feeds every three hours (must have read it somewhere). The poor thing was furious!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/03/2015 21:32

I have a poorly dh Sad he's caught my boys cold but it always goes to his sinuses and affects his asthma and he's struggling already, really hope that the thyroid medication that he started last week starts to work as the Dr said the reason he's been having all the problems and that medication doesn't help as it should is because of his under active thyroid. He said he should see an improvement in many things in a week so will keep my fingers firmly crossed!

Very twingey this evening, went for a 40 min walk with dogs and had period type cramps and some tightens since as well as a very stiff uncomfortable pelvis so hoping that even if this isn't anything serious it does mean my cervix is at least becoming more favourable and induction will be successful.

Lucyandpoppy · 29/03/2015 21:38

Rl20 - Shock what did you have for lunch? I must get the ingredients immediately!! Grin

I had a whole pack of bacon for lunch today. Mmmmmmmm

Lucyandpoppy · 29/03/2015 21:43

*brixtonbunny sorry lol! Must have pregnancy brain ;)

RL20 · 29/03/2015 22:03

Lucyandpoppy - I was about to direct you to your nearest McDonalds! I shamefully had a Big Mac and fries for my dinner Confused No food shopping until tomorrow and I didn't have the energy to make something of what we do have!

I keep getting light pressure on the 'fanjo' and on my bum now and then and always think it's going to mount to something, but always turns out to be just wind! Blush

FiRaffe · 29/03/2015 22:37

I get lots of pains like that RL but baby is low I think. Not really had the indigestion thankfully (although still time as only 36+2).

We're currently trying to get the smart TV to work in our room so I can use it when baby arrives to watch iplayer etc but it isn't playing ball....why can't technology just work???

MoominMama22 · 29/03/2015 23:32

Hello ladies, so how many babies arrivals have I missed?
I've not been reading along I'm afraid as I'm in hospital again with pre eclampsia and it's all been a bit horrid.
I'll try and catch up with all your news once I'm feeling better x

daholster · 29/03/2015 23:33

In bed. Did one coat. Its going to need about another 4 plus priming woodwork and painting woodwork!!! Angry Next time I'm buying a new house!

Dh is leaving at 5am so if I'm not sleeping I'll do another coat...

Dd seems to be getting conjunctivitis Sad Hope she sleeps OK.

PenguinPoser · 29/03/2015 23:48

Moomin hope youre ok - are they planning to deliver baby soon or to get things settled?

Stuntnun- main ongoing feeding issue is getting dd to latch on and stay on. Has just taken me 40min of her rooting crying flailing her arms around before she attached to boob and actually started feeding. It frustrates us both.

Daholster I'm impressed with your decorating hope its finished soon!

Chilli - how you're feeling is normal you will be fine as others have said! SmileFlowers

RL20 · 30/03/2015 00:09

Hope you are ok Moomin?

Been in bed for nearing on 2 hours now (other half fell straight sleep - stag do aftermath!) and cannot get to sleep at all. I feel tired but restless, can't get comfortable on my left side which I have been sleeping on, and don't want to lay on my right side or flat on my back, either. Pre-pregnancy I mostly slept on my front so it's been hard adapting to a new sleeping position! I'm tempted to sleep just propped up as if I was in a recliner but I just don't know Confused yawns .
Have just been watching Geordie Shore as it's on one after the other, which I have never watched before, what a load of crap! Can see why people watch it though - it's just addictive rubbish tv like TOWIE was at one point.

Siarie · 30/03/2015 00:12

Just marking my place. Today all my BH seem to have settled down again, so I'm just trying to chill out and not think about it too much

Midwife appointment tomorrow (36 weeks) so hoping she will examine me. I realised my notes say my cervix was 2cm last weekend which I've read is roughly 50% effaced. Hopefully things might have moved on, still getting BH but they've spaced out for now.

In terms of DH, I'm feeling quite lucky that I have a really involved one. He is looking forward to doing the nappies, feeding, wake ups. We know we will both be tired but have agreed never to compete over who is more tired and generally things have stayed the same during the pregnancy.

Now I'm getting heavy and it's hard to walk (baby feels really low now), DH is doing more food and getting a things so I don't have to get up. I've been honest and any time I've snapped I slways say sorry it's yge hormones. I know when I'm bring silly and I don't rise to the urge to go all pregnancy rage.

daholster · 30/03/2015 01:57

Oh moomin sorry you are poorly.

Was thinking about you today siarie, glad to hear you have had a more comfy day. I thought dilatation and effacement were different? Hopefully your midwife can explain all!

penguin newborns can be so frustrating!!!!! Flowers

I can't sleep either. Painful burning left top bump, no idea what he's doing. Can't get comfy. Lucky I had a good nap yesterday afternoon! Dh gently snoring was irritating the pants off me. Then dd started whimpering so I have been in her room for 45mins. Calpol and stroking given with a lie down next to her bed on her sheepskin rug. Pretty comfy actually. Not sure she is going to sleep through from now either. That wait and see game! My head is pretty too with what needs doing and how I can best achieve things for maximum benefit before he arrives. I have accepted its not all going to get done.

Mum told me once that a quiet rest was as good as a sleep, when I was struggling to sleep as a youngster. It always helped me to relax about it. Not sure how true it is but I will try thinking that way now. If I'm still awake at 3am I'll be getting up for a Brew and do another coat of paint!!!

One other thing. Wet tops of legs most of the day. Post toilet dripping which I wait for, hold the tissue as I stand, get rid, start to move and a bit more runs down my legs Blush Mostly I'm sure its wee but sometimes it looks v clear. Always notice I'm wet after getting up from a lie down but nothing runs. I'm still thinking wee... Ick... Any thoughts?

And I decided I like Edmond as a name. Could shorten to the Monty I like so much? And Edmond Heath/Edmond Hartley sounds cool. As does Edmond Jack and Edmond Rory!!!! Maybe my top 2 are Edmond and Rory now... Will suggest it to dh tomorrow. Hope he likes it.

daholster · 30/03/2015 01:59

*Head is pretty full...

Oh and the wet thing has been last couple of days, the dribble thing about a week or two but much worse last two days. Must be wee right?!

PenguinPoser · 30/03/2015 03:16

Does it smell like wee daholster? Liquor is sweeter smelling I think. Could also be pv discharge?

Re dilation and effacement - if cervix was 2cm long that would be about 50% effaced, but yes that is different to being 2cm dilated (how open cervix is).

I like the name Edmond too Smile

Glad things are calmer Siarie.

Hope you got to sleep RL20 and not still watching Geordie shore! I'm watching friends whilst feeding... Can't go wrong with that!

ChickenMe · 30/03/2015 06:09

Hope u ok Moomin. What a pain to be in hosp right at the end.
Thinking of u Penguin do u have someone coming today to help you with the feeds? DD just had a giant feed and is still awake. Am watching a Fall Out Boy special and thinking Pete Wentz is q hot.Grin

FiRaffe · 30/03/2015 07:32

Hope all is okay Moomin, or they are at least doing everything to make you comfy and ensure baby is safe. As the ladies have said, have they given you a plan yet?

Glad to hear things are calming Sairie. Is the cervix check normal at 36 weeks? Or is it just because of everything else?

Hope you got some rest daholster and that your day isn't too bad today either way so you can rest. On the discharge front, i'd definitely put a pad in and see what it smells like (eugh at the thought!), but don't they say if it's clear then you should get your midwife to check it as urine is always coloured?

Last Monday at work today and only 4 days to go.... Thank goodness!

daholster · 30/03/2015 08:12

Omg worst sleep ever. Got too hot and have a headache. Super dry mouth. Fell asleep around 3am, dh got up at 5, I have had this hot uncomfy sleep since about 05.30 now dd is awake... Yawn. Best go and get her.

To make things worse our first job of the day will be to tackle B&Q, then the carpet shop!!!! Shock

Might pop a pad in but don't think its enough. I'm just gross, I am sure of it! Grin

mswibble · 30/03/2015 08:21

I did a very silly thing this morning ... jumped onto the scales for the first time since September. Sad I've got to hope that I'm one of those women who loses 2stone in the week after giving birth and breastfeeding just melts away the remainder. It sounds so trivial and petty compared to what some of you are going through / have been through but I am really upset by how much I've gained. And now I can't work out whether I am in fact carrying it well and the majority is fluid or if I have morphed in Jabba the Hut and am in fact repulsive. Blush (self absorbed pity party over)

My OH has excelled himself during this pregnancy. Sometimes I get a little upset as he's not all over my bump and overly vocal about his excitement (like other women's partners seem to be), but then I remember all the things he has done, this house will look brand new by the time bambino arrives as he's worked so hard! He's not a bloke who reveals his emotions very well anyway but I know he's scared to death and ridiculously excited, all at the same time!

daholster I second firaffe , use a pad to try and double check what the fluid is but I would still maybe ring the midwives too.
firaffe hurrah for your last Monday in work! I can't actually work out how I fitted in a full time job, I've been so busy since finishing!
Hope all is OK moomin, are you on bed rest or are they planning to deliver?

sorry, slow to catch up, not bee online much.
RL re the tearing discussion on previous thread, the birth breathing is supposed to reduce the chance of tearing and you don't push the baby out but instead rely on your natural expulsive reflex. basically breathing downwards and allowing your body to do it slowly. Although i've been told and read a few times that it actually makes the crowning and actual birth quicker because your not tensing the muscles infront of baby's head by pushing.
breath in deeply through your nose and breath back out through your nose but push the breath downwards as you breath out imagining pushing the breath down your back and behind your bump down to your bum. sounds odd but it really works (well it works for going to the loo anyway, remains to be seen if it works for baby too lol)

brum I also got an isofix base from mamas and papas. you're not supposed to keep baby in the car seat for long periods of time. couple of hours or something. But we bought one because to be able to take the seat out and click it the pram for a quick trip i.e to the shop or visiting someone, then it seemed easy. It is an unnecessary luxury though, we we treated ourselves.

hope i didn't miss anymore babies in the catch up.

StuntNun · 30/03/2015 08:48

I hope you can get some support Penguin, it sounds like she needs a bit more help to get a good technique.

Lauren82000 · 30/03/2015 08:49

Daholster your not the only one. I get a small gush after each wee when I walk away from the toilet. Very annoying as I can stand and wait with the tissue like you and nothing happens it's just as I walk away to wash my hands. Angry Mine is definitely discharge though as I've had it in varying amounts the whole pregnancy. Seems a bit more towards the end but you do get more at this point so I'm not bothered. End up doing an awful lot of knicker checking, it's like when I was having bleeding early on!

Got coffee and toast in bed this morning. I'm amazed DH made the effort. I commented and he said something about looking after his pregnant wife. Shock This is like the first time he has treated me any differently and that perhaps I need a bit of pampering.
