Morning all

A buggy pod would've been ideal but I've got the M&P freestyler, and the 2 aren't compatible! I really like the look of the out'n'about double buggy, but the cheapest I've seen is £270 (although haven't looked on ebay yet) Ds is quite a "sturdy" little boy so it does need to be roomy enough for him.

Did anyone else cry at Afterlife?

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2006 12:31

Peruse eBay honey - you might be pleasantly surprised!! (I hope so! ) xx

CornflakeKid · 12/11/2006 14:22

Well - the scenic was just too much of a squash - I felt squashed and I was in the front! Thinking about a Citreon C8 - slide doors would be fab! Waiting to hear back from a garage - may zip up M5 to see one tomorrow.

I think will need to sit on some gliders to decide what to go for - the hauck ones are much cheaper but the backs look quite low and the price varies between different styles of dutailier - not planning to buy til after xmas so no real rush!

Boys driving me nuts....

Bugmum · 12/11/2006 14:49

runnyhabit - I sobbed!

mammyjo · 12/11/2006 15:26

Hi all. Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. My ds is being a bloody nightmare. He is normally very well behaved but decided to throw a wobbly in the supermarket, trying to push the trolley into the wine! He got a very sharp telling off! I seem to have a very short fuse at the moment as normally I would have calmly spoken to him and sorted things out. Not today, he got marched out of the shop to many many stares!

On a happier note, I am 20 weeks today and have my scan tomorrow morning so fingers crossed. Still cant decide whether to find out or not. My dh doesnt want to so will probably end up going along with him.

1becomes3 · 12/11/2006 16:13

Oh those glider chairs are so comfey my sil has one and I am hopeing that she will offer it to me as they give great back support, and I have a dodgy back.
I already have one of the ikea chairs it's great for reading DD her stories in. I think it would do the job for bf as the arms are quite low down.
It all depends how much you want to spend CFK. If we didn't have to buy so much new stuff like cars, 3 seater buggys, a bigger house etc etc I would go for the glider.

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2006 16:26

Looks like I'll be with you on the triple buggy, 1B3!! Perhaps we should set up a support group!!?

Hope your DS' are better behaved now Cornflake and MJ - soooo tiring when they are being trying - my girls have been surprisingly good today, which makes a pleasant change -

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2006 16:26

Oooooh, 20 week scan tomorrow MJ - How exciting!!! Is that the 1st on the thread!!? Yippee for our Beans!!

1becomes3 · 12/11/2006 16:58

I have been doing a bit of research on the whole buggy front and found toddler seat
I have no idea if this link will work.
If not go to abcbuggy.co.nz
They got the right idea for a todler seat although their prams look like a blood tank!
And it costs a small fortune!

1becomes3 · 12/11/2006 17:03

Oh it worked! I might get a double and stick this on the side toddler seat

1becomes3 · 12/11/2006 17:06

crap that one didn't work, it was the toddler seat from 2became4.com.
It could work on a nice compact twin?!?
Fingers crossed will have to do some more research.

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2006 18:16

Thanks for the tips 1B3!! Unfortunately, don't thin either of those will be compatable with my beloved Phil and Teds!

CornflakeKid · 12/11/2006 18:56

Have been to relaxation class - lovely!

Good luck for scan tomorrow mammyjo xoxoxoxoxo

weeonion · 12/11/2006 19:08

evening folks! all this buggy chat make sit seem even more real! not long back from a scottish meet up - really nice to see vio and geordie (and another scottish resident anjo) Spent time chatting and a bit of life storying! not one of the four of us is scottish tho'!

went to mamas & papas for a mooch. god - all a bit frigthenng and bewildered by the choice!
biggies, cots, car seats, changers...... ........ eek!

liath · 12/11/2006 19:16

CK I think I'd go for a changing table. I keep a mat downstairs, though and change dd on the floor.

I'm another one not sure what to do about double buggies! Am going to see how I manage without at first. Used a sling a lot with dd anyway as she was a right clingon ! Am very tempted to buy an ergo sling.

I've been away all weekend as I was my dad's 60th birthday so the family got together at a Hotel near Peebles. Lots of food & chat! It was really lovely especially as we won't all be together at Christmas this year. And none of us fell out - remarkable !!! I was very rude about the size of my sisters' bumps so of course mine just popped out last night as punishment.

How did the Tartan meet go?

liath · 12/11/2006 19:17

X-post, weeonion! Glad it went well.

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2006 19:41

Glad you enjoyed Scottish meet-up, LOL @ none of you actually being Scottish!!

Glad you had a nice w/e Liath - what will the age gap be between your 2??

I'm so tired....

AngeG · 12/11/2006 21:18

Glad the scottish meet up went well.

Sounds like a lovely weekend Liath - well done for no family arguments, never easy at that kind of family thing.

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow mammyjo and that your ds has been better behaved,

After recovering from Chicken Pox last week ds now has a temperature and a nasty cough that's going to keep me and him up all night I think

Take Care all

weeonion · 12/11/2006 21:44

MIL _ GRRRRRRRRRRRR
poor dp - he's realy upset. just come off the phone to his mum. it only took 30 mins b4 she bothered to ask how he was and after 10 - yes 10 prompts to ask about the bean. she then said that he had been inconsiderate in the timing with the baby as she didnt think it suited the rest of the family. looks like lots of support -not.
really wish i was home in ireland

liath · 13/11/2006 07:18

weeonion!!! What a b*tch! Why do people think it's OK to be that selfish & nasty?

CD - it'll be 25 months between my two.

CornflakeKid · 13/11/2006 07:52

weeonion - big hugs xoxoxox

Going to ring hosp re scan this morning - will get back to you later am 18 + 2 so should know by now....(it'll come in the post later!)

Have a nice day everyone xoxoxoxx

CaptainDippy · 13/11/2006 08:02

Oh weeeonion, I am sorry about your MIL. [[hugs]

Just popping in to say hello - off for a shower now ....

Bugmum · 13/11/2006 08:54

Weeonion - how inconsiderate: you didn't take every single member of your extended family into account when trying for this baby (and of course, that can be timed to the second, as we all know). Frankly, I am at you!

Dear oh dear, some people are plain nasty. Please try not to worry too much about it, and to get home as much as you can, to your lovely lot x

Greengirlforever · 13/11/2006 09:40

Weeonion - at your MIL!

My MIL is considerate enough, although in an ineffectual worrying, nagging kind of way (bless her!) but my SM and my Dad are hopeless. Since I told them the good? news, they haven't phoned once to ask how I'm getting on (I usually phone them and haven't got around to it yet). I said that to my SM that me and DS2 might go over to Ireland to see them this month and she said oh, but we're travelling to London to see a show (not nipping down to Devon to see us then!!) and we'll let you know the dates. Should also say that they're loaded btw, unlike us! Haven't heard a dicky bird since! Might go over anyway, even if its just to see my sister, who is lovely.

heidle · 13/11/2006 10:03

bloody in-laws eh? I work with mine, and to be fair they are lovely so we are very lucky! but, while they had our 2 overnight on saturday, MIL took it upon herself to cut DS1s hair!!!!! I have to say I think she's crossed a line.
but hey, we have to let the little things go - they did have them overnight and the lie-in must have made me calm!!!!!

re cars - I have just had to swap my sexy red Altea for a boring blue verso - and I just can't get on with it.....am I being a spoilt brat? Yes the new one is practical with 7 seats, and why does it need to be fast (after all I am 30 now)but while I'm pregnant and compromising on clothing, food, drink, I'd really like my sexy car back thank-you!!! Also, DH still flies around at 200 miles an hour on his beemer..............nothing ever changes for men though does it?

re double buggies, a friend gave us a graco double (one behind the other) and although my pram envy kicked in every time I saw a smart new shiny state of the art concept model, I'm so glad we had it. There's 1 year and 9 months between first 2, and the double was a godsend on the first holiday - when after tea we would walk until they both fell asleep, then park up for cocktails!!!!!! Also, it somehow folded up smaller than my fab single pushchair, and when just out with one, I could put extra shopping in the other seat.

Anyway, enough consumer advice, dh accidentally took the double to the tip when clearing the garage, so now they both have to walk!!!

Another week on now girls - what with the run up to christmas this is really flying by isn't it?
hope you are all well ( i actually feel pretty good today) anyone have anything exciting planned for this week?
