Gosh - taken me so long to cath up - I jkust know I'll miss something out.

Welcome to Heidle and Harimad and any other new peep! .

Enjoyed reading about everyones fantasy fives!!
I would have (not in any order)

  1. Pierce Brosnan
  2. Richard Hammond (even though vertically challnged)
  3. Pete from Boogie Beebies on Cbeebies
  4. Oh that gorgeous guy that plays Sean in Eastenders (he is definatley hot fave at mo!)
  5. Mark Wahlberg (or Mark from marky Mark and the Funky Bunch if anyone remembers them!!! - and I think my husband would have something to say about him being on my list! lol)

Feeling quite "up" at the moment although I am in pain int he pelvic area - I think it must be this SPDthat I keep reading about - as it is just agony when I get up and walk. Managing to struggle on at mo but went to buy something to wear for family photo yesterday afternoon (had precious child free time to mooch) and ended up coming home empty handed as pain was so bad I couldn't walk round town...only managed to get 2 maternity bras from Mothercare - hoping their bra sizing is not like their tights.....

So today we are having a photo of me DH and DS taken...probably the next one there will be four of us in it .

Scan is 5th Dec - can't wait - although not finding out the flavour (but sorely tempted).

DS is going to stay at Grandma's tonight and so going tochill out tonight me thinks....early bed (TO SLEEP OF COURSE!)

Have a good day everyone and hope you are all feeling ok

MIAM 17 +1 (where has the time gone???)

runnyhabbit · 11/11/2006 11:29

Morning everyone

Know exactly where you're coming from with the car situation. Dh was gutted that we had to give up his sports car, cos 3 doors and baby seat do not go! He's got a van for work, and didn't understand how difficult it was until he was home for a week! I know he was devasted that we had to get a "sensible" door car. His only condition was that we didn't get an MPV (apologises to all mpv drivers)

To all those on second/third pregnancies - will you be getting a double buggy? There will be 23mths between these 2. I've got a gorgeous mamas&papas pushchair for ds, and I really don't want to make it redundant yet!

18+4

Bugmum · 11/11/2006 12:45

runnyhabit - I'm going to try to do without a double buggy, opting instead for a ring sling (never used one before!) and a buggy board, depending on which of them is in the buggy. I don't drive, but walk and take buses, so I am terribly pram-dependant, and as it is have to have two: my big, heavy three-wheeler thing and my light MacClaren (sp??). If I find I can't cope, I'll look on ebay, as apparently you can easily get a mint condition double buggy, where so many people buy them and discover they can't get on with them.

But my gap will be a little bigger than yours: almost two years, three months, ie nearly 27 months, so that might make a diff?

runnyhabbit · 11/11/2006 12:58

I'm hoping I don't have to buy one. We've got a baby sling, and I've heard good things about the buggyboards too. I did have a look on ebay briefly, and saw some real bargains, so might just wait and see how we get on.

pesha · 11/11/2006 13:24

When i had ds dd was 2yrs 9 months so didnt bother with double buggy at first but very soon decided i needed one for dd when she was being naughty! I needed something to threaten her with if she was trying to run off at the shops or just generally being a pain, come here and hold my hand/ the pushchair wasnt nearly as effective (or practical) as putting her in the pushchair. Also I didnt drive then so although generally she was ok to walk into town and back if she was ill i needed the double buggy to get her to the drs so got a 2nd hand graco (one behind the other not side by side, sorry cant think of technical terms at mo!!) for £50. I kept it when i found out my sister was having a baby so I could look after her sometimes and will keep it now just in case even though ds will be 3yrs 8 months cos he does have his lazy days!

We are also having car dilemmas, I thought id be able to fit 3 car seats in the back of my car but really cant. Dp has a hyundai coupe so was just about to sell it to a mate at work part exchange for a mr2 (only 2 seater but was going to sell that after xmas just wanted to sell his quick) until his stepdad reversed into it yesterday causing quite a bit of damage so now have to get all that fixed. And dont know what car or cars we need to get anyway but really dont think we can afford a people carrier, we need to find a cheap car that can fit 3 car seats, any suggeations gratefully received!!

1becomes3 · 11/11/2006 14:41

On the buggy subject I don't know what I am going to do I really don't want to have to push round a 3 seater, plus I wouldn't trust DD sat next to a baby she'd be feeding them and giving them drinks and stuff.
I like the phil and ted double buggy's but would a buggy board fit on the back?
What do I do if DD needs a nap when we are out. Can she sleep on a buggy board?

On the car front aswell we have to get a MPV cause we can't fit 3 car seats in the back of our car plus all the junk that they need when we go away at weekends. (also the fact that I don't trust DD in a car either)

Greengirlforever · 11/11/2006 14:53

Hi everyone. It's been a wee while since I've posted.

WHINGE ALERT!!! I've been feeling very up and down at the moment - for instance today I'm feeling v miserable in a "nothingniceeverhappenstomeI'vegotnothingtolookforwardto" kind of way.... whereas yesterday I felt quite cheerful and selfless and it didn't really matter that I have nothing to look forward to (sob!). And of course I know I'm being silly and I have another wonderful baby to look forward to but it's just that after DK's holiday, and no money... nothing much going on at Christmas and DH being a right pri*k tbh!

END OF WHINGE.

Greengirlforever · 11/11/2006 15:00

Most fancied list (and right now I don't actually care if it bothers DH or not!).

  1. Dr Who - the Christopher Eccleston incarnation.
  2. Same as number 1.
  3. Sawyer from Lost.
Umm - back to Chris Eccleston again?

Regarding CBeebies - Trying to put DS2 off Tweenies & Fimbles which I cannot stand. Although - I do think the much maligned Justin is an absolute comic genius, and superb for the children, however annoying he may be for us adults...

There! A little chat about nonsense and I feel much better.

1becomes3 · 11/11/2006 15:18

Oh can I do my 5 most fancied blokes:

1: Johnny Deep
2:Christian Slater (something so sexy abour his voice)
3: Sawyer (lost)
4:That bloke from prison break (the 1 with the tatoo's)
5:And last but not least no one has ever herd of him because he is in an american band, but ohhh so sexy in a skinny god like way Brandon Boyd of incubus.

YUMMY

CornflakeKid · 11/11/2006 16:06

Hello everyone

Have been looking at cars today - saw a vauxhall zafira which looked pretty good - 7 seats and all move etc. Am going to look at grand scenic and espace before make any decisions. DH car now costing more than worth so he has agreed it would be a good time to get a car that fits us all in properly. The zafira was a 53 plate, all added extras, diesel and £7900 - seems quite a good buy. But not sure whether will get us all plus camping kit in!

No news on my scan date yet - will call them monday. Think we will find out.

Hello new people and hope you all have a nice weekend xoxoxoxoxo

CornflakeKid · 11/11/2006 16:25

Anyone got an exciting night out planned or are we all staying in for the x factor?! X factor for me and will record results to watch - way too late for me!

Bugmum · 11/11/2006 17:12

GGF - sending (((())))
and I was going to put the Christopher Ecc. Dr Who as well, but given your DH's general prickness at the mo', you may have him

Buggyboards - there are some they can sit down on if they get tired, and apparently can actually nap on as well.

Tonight: X-Factor of course! And I shall stay up until - gasp - 10.30, as it is the last episode of Afterlife, which I think is fabbo. Or rubbish. Either way, hugely enjoyable (if scary )

twinkle183 · 11/11/2006 17:13

Evening guys - its a night in for me as dh is away at the mo!! So its me and Brendan Cole for the night!!

runnyhabbit my friend is going to have the same age gap between children that you will - so has opted for a thing called a buggy pod which fixes on the side of her mamas and papas pramette which she doesn't want to make redundant either!!! It also folds up when her ds wants to work!!! Me on the other hand is going to get a buggyboard seat thing as there will be 39 months between mine!!!

I did have a mpv but had a bad experience with it so got rid of it - am back to my old reliable peugeot 306 which is okay at the mo but have a feeling that will change next year once the baby comes!!

Sorry your having a bad day GGF today.. I have them too so its completely normal!!!

Ds doesn't care for fimbles either just likes boogie beebies, postman pat, number jack and underground ernie and thats it!! Otherwise he would rather do some colouring or read a book with me!!

Hope everyone is okay..

Take care

Twinkle183 (19wks)

twinkle183 · 11/11/2006 17:15

Bugmum I am with you on the Aferlife front can't wait to see it...

AngeG · 11/11/2006 17:50

Hi all. Haven't been on for a few days cos I didn't have my laptop. Still got in back now.

Got my new car now its a 55 plate renault scenic and I love it. Dh has an Espace, but that's a bit big except for at the weekends when we have his two girls.

I am 18+6wks today I think. Have my 20wk scan on 23rd November I will be 20+4 then, i'm really looking forward to it. Only having it cos consultant wants to check bean is growing properly after the probs I had last time. Don't normally get them here.

Welcome to the newbies. Hope all ok with everyone haven't had a chance to catch up with everything.

CaptainDippy · 11/11/2006 19:36

Gosh, DD's finally in bed - has been a pretty full-on sort of day - been to the local small animal zoo this afternoon, which was a lot of fun, but v.v.v.tiring!! About ready to collapse now!!

Welcome heidle - Nice to have you with us on this exciting journey!! This is my third too!

Sorry to hear about your poor torn muscles Charlii - ouch!! Hope they feel better soon!

Sorry you are feeling GGF - [[hugs] to you - I've had abit of a shitty week myself - hoping next week will be much more !!

Runny & 1b3 - You both mentioned double buggies - I had a 14 month age gap between my two and I own a lovely red Phil N Teds and it has been an absolute God-send - love it to bits, but I know a lot of people have found them difficult with a bigger age gap because of the toddler seat being too small (space-wise) with baby underneath - Depends how big your current LO is runny!! Think the idea of these buggy pods sounds fab too! 1B3 - you can't use a Phil N Teds for newborn twins - nowhere to "store" them both!!! Would be fab when they are both about 8/9 months though!! They have no room for a buggy board either, which is a BIG for me - actually considering getting a triple buggy atm - I'll have 3 under 3.5 when this one is born and I don't drive so am v.pram dependant - DD1 is lazy arse and won't walk anywhere ........

What am I to dooooooooo ...........

On the subject of cars .... we're seriously going to have to upgrade our estate - no way 3 car seats could go in the back!! Would LOVE a 7 seater, esp as we're planning more, but money is a BIG issue!! Mmmmmmm .....

On the subject of CBeebies, we don't have a TV!!!!! So can't comment!

Gotta go ..........

CornflakeKid · 12/11/2006 09:26

I had a double nipper for my two and it was fab - got on really well with it - check ebay for good deals.

I cried when Leona sang last night - I want her to win. Managed to stay up for the results - glad Nikkita went - didn't think she had shined at all since been on live tv - shame really as she seems lovely.

DH playing golf - off to try out the car seats in the scenic rather than the zafira I saw! If don't fit whill have to go for something bigger - have had scenic before so quite happy to get another one. If all the seats fit will go for test drive later. Have the money - just needs moving so should get new car this week! My insurance will be cheaper aswell and as diesel should cost me less again - dh taking on my crv so he can pay the extra insurance and he gets petrol paid for by work. Have decided that with camping - if it doesn't all fit in - will either take two cars or get a smaller tent than our current millenium dome!

My relaxation class starts today - so excited!

I actually felt my baby in my tummy this morning - he had wedged himself (or herself!) right at the top of my womb and I could feel his back - one end was very hard - not sure whether bum or head - really lovely to feel his body - moved down to the side then and then bobbed back off into the depths! In complete and utter love with baby now!

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2006 09:40

Hope the car is perfect Cornflake - @ you!! Wish we had the money!!

Ooooooh, lovely to feeling little baby movements, I've definitely felt a few, which is VERY exciting!!

Gotta go, pop back later ........

CornflakeKid · 12/11/2006 09:56

DH is a hoarder - if it was down to me we would be bankrupt!

I am having a dilemna - have always changed ds's on floor - but would like a changing table and have never had a proper feeding chair to save my poor back...

poll 1: changing table or cot top changer?
poll 2: dutailier glide chair or ikea arm chair (page 121 either jennylund or muren!)?

Mountains of baby stuff arriving from sister in 2 weeks - so need to move/pack up spare room either today or next sunday - so spending some time thinking about what furniture will need in nursery. Also one of the walls is completely ruined where I painted a huge train on it for ds1 when he was little - you can still see the outlines despite 3 coatings of paint - so if anyone knows of any nice nursery wall paper please let me know! Looking for white/pale greeny colours.

Must go get dressed & feed boys...

twinkle183 · 12/11/2006 10:08

Am having trouble convincing my dh that a bigger car would be a better idea!! Espcially as we have two dogs aswell... I really like the idea of a zafira as we have already had a scenic and had a bad experience with it unfortunately!!! It wasn't the cars fault it was the garage we brought it from!!!

Am feeling really tired today but have lots to do... so guess I better get on with it!!!

Hope everyone is feeling okay and I'll catch you all later!!

AngeG · 12/11/2006 10:28

Twinkle poor you with your bad experience, can you tell us more...I've just bought one??

Don't overdo it today, whatever needs to be done will still be there tomorrow
The zafira's are nice. Have you seen that thread about them? Not much boot space for dogs though if using all the seats.

CFK - good luck fitting the car seats in. I actually managed to fit 3 car seats across the back of my dad's Ford FocusOne high back booster in the middle and 2 Britax Isofix seats was very surprised.

I had a changing table for DS1 which I didn't really use that much probably because I'm so short 4" 11 and wasn't tall enough to find it comfortable unless in my 3inch heelsCot top changer takes up less space if you're restricted. Mine was a changing table with chest of drawers which was very helpful.

As for the chair I had a chair and stool from argos last time which was ok. But would have loved a glider chair, my friend had one and they looked so comfy.

Hope everyone ok.

twinkle183 · 12/11/2006 11:02

AngeG of course - I had a faulty steering rack and took the car back to garage brought it from to fix but (they weren't a Renault garage by the way) In the end after taking it back to the same garage four times - I finally decided enough was enough and took it to renault cos my battery was faulty!!! I only had the car for 4 months and I had to have the steering rack replaced twice, a new battery, an ecr value, a new cam belt and so on!! I found that once something went wrong everything did but I think that I just brought the runt of the litter (Pardon the expression) But otherwise I love the scenics and if I could have another one that didn't go wrong then I would!! But dh hates them so when I do decided to get rid of my reliable peugeot - I'll give the car some serious thought!!!

charlii13 · 12/11/2006 11:06

Morning all!Hope everyones having a good weekend! my sat night wasn't as bad as i though it was gonna b on my own, watched a film and then stayed up watching quiz call!ha ha!That programme is soooooo addictive!!
I think i had my 1st braxton hicks last night....my lower abdomen was ROCK HARD and a little uncomfortable for like 2 mins or so and i looked it up on the internet and apparently thats what it was!hmmm, was weird.freaked me out a bit to begin with.honest you wouldn't believe how hard it felt!strange.....

AngeG · 12/11/2006 11:11

Thanks Twinkle I'm just nosy Was it an old or new style scenic? Sounds like tha garage you bought it from were awful.

Charlii sound like BH. Does feel a bit strange. Glad your Saturday night was better than you thought.

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2006 12:22

Told you I'd pop back - couldn't resist!!

Gotta go and do dinner in a mo, so can't be long!!

Cornflake - I'd go for cot top changer, much less bulker and a lot easier, imo. (I'm 5", so have similar probs to teeny little AngeG, bless you ) I'd go for a glider too, if you've got the money - they look wonderful!!

I'm sure I'll pop back later .......
