Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had six babies, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

daholster I love the idea of a feeding time bag of fun - must remember that for next time around! I also have pain right in my pubic bone, it feels like someone has punched me down there, it's horrible. It seems to be a bit better when I move less so looks like I have a few lazy weeks ahead.

FiRaffe · 25/03/2015 13:23

Congratulations StuntNun. Glad to hear you and baby are well, although a little before you had hoped.

Glad your mot is sorted too cinnamon. Nor what you need when this pregnant!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/03/2015 14:05

Congratulations StuntNun! My friend who had both her babies early (6 and 7 weeks early) did so because of placental abruption. They said with the second she wasn't more likley to have one again but did. The first was a very quick forcep delivery when they realised what had happened and the second emcs.

Not sure where my earlier post went Confused

It is my car smogsville as dh rides a motorbike most of the time, only takes the car when he picks dss up from school or drops him back. He does most things to do with it tbf but it's easier for me to take it to be tested as my work comes with me and my test centre has lots of toys so the kids don't mind. I've been taking my cars there since I started driving in 1998 and they are very helpful.

Underwood2013 · 25/03/2015 14:08

Hi daholster - bad mum question here - I didn't have the 24m check on my radar for ds. Was yours with HV only or with GP as well? Did they schedule it (i.e. send you a letter w/ an appt) or did you proactively book it?
... either way, something else to add to the list post-baby. Eek.

Congrats stuntnun - albeit dramatic emcs - glad you and baby are OK.

I get to do the glucose test again tomorrow since the hospital cannot believe I am producing a big baby and don't have GD. I'm so not looking forward to it - fasting then drinking gross liquid then waiting then being a human pin cushion for at least 2-3 staff that think they can get blood from my small veins. Sorry - rant over - I know there are much worse things that could be going on right now!!

As far as I know, not had any BH this time or with ds. Course I never went into proper labour with ds so maybe my system doesn't work right!?

Underwood2013 · 25/03/2015 14:43

Thanks squatting is it with HV or GP? And do you schedule it or do they? I'm asking as we are moving when ds will be about 25m and I'd rather do any check-ups before we go as not sure how long it will take us to get settled, find doctor, etc etc. I'm trying to do all these sorts of things before baby arrives and minimise ha ha who am I kidding stress afterwards...

Underwood2013 · 25/03/2015 14:58

Thanks squatting. We're actually moving overseas so I will have to get my head around a whole new health system... so I think I'll get in touch around here and make sure ds gets seen before we go regardless of if they usually do it at 24 or 27m... Course if it is HV only at least I don't have to worry he would be missing any jabs or the like, so probably not the end of the world if we don't see HV before we go (bad mum).

RL20 · 25/03/2015 15:45

Wow Underwood where abouts are you moving to?

Daholster I agree with Banana, the feeding time fun bag thing sounds like a great idea!

Smog another one here that loves a good magazine in the bath.
I get through so many magazines it's untrue!
They help me to relax although half the time I end up on my phone instead which I need to stop! Even if it is just mumsnet Grin

Hope everyone's having a good day so far

RL20 · 25/03/2015 15:50

Oh and I came across a page on Facebook earlier called 'The Unmumsy Mum' which is a blog written by a mum. I've only read the post 'Lesson 45: Your Day vs His Day' but it is a funny read!

MoominMama22 · 25/03/2015 16:00

Oh ffs
John Lewis can't replace or refund because I paid via PayPal and they are having technical issues.... How this is my problem I do not know?

Guy coming to lay kitchen floor today just cancelled to reschedule "next week" no date yet.

Self absorbed ranty grumpy sorry. Currently on hold to JL.

RL20 · 25/03/2015 16:03

Moomin what would PayPal have to do with it?!
Although saying that, I've had a few issues with PayPal the past few months and actually got a £25 credit to my account as they'd caused me so much hassle. I wrote a long email of complaint in which I moaned about the cost of the phone calls too.
What is the actual issue? They can't just leave you with saying 'technical difficulties'

MoominMama22 · 25/03/2015 16:17

Congrats StuntNun! so self absorbed posting I've missed this news. Hope you and bubs are recovering from the shock of it all.Flowers

Good luck today Nunkie hope alls progressing!!!Smile

Smogs that's exactly what BHs are! I've had those "tightenings" from before 20 weeks. now they are more like a hunger pang/rumbling tummy feeling mixed with a period pain and sensation of a belt tightening. Don't hurt yet but can wake me.

RL oh I don't know (rolls eyes) maybe because every single thing I buy or service I pay for recently seems to cause me problems as the universe hates me? I work in retail infact used to work for JL and still can't see how they can't find a way to put the refund and resale through their system... I am going to have to wait til next week when a specialist team will be contacting the supplier direct.Angry in the mean time the neighbours can see into our house and me wandering around bump out at all hours. Soon enough probably boobs out at all hours too.

38+4

daholster · 25/03/2015 16:20

Just about to rush into swimming (dd has fallen asleep in the car on the way here of course) - Underwood I know you are near me, ours is 24 mo this arranged by HV and we got an appointment letter. However I do come under Fleet and Yateley HVs, if you are in Surrey Heath not Hampshire it might be different?

You could always just do the questionnaire they gave me and make sure you aren't worried if you have no opportunity to see someone... Its called an ASQ questionnaire for 24 month olds.

All she said about vaccs is next ones age 3 yrs 4 months for boosters, and maybe nasal flu vac will be available this winter for 2 yr olds. Will you be at FPH tomorrow then? I'm there in the afternoon, could peer around and guess Wink Good luck with your big move! You are brave!

Best dash into swimming and wake this pickle up!

RL20 · 25/03/2015 16:20

Moomin that definitely doesn't sound good enough! Oh dear. Although you did make me laugh with 'bump out at all hours'! In all seriousness though, that's not great! Brew

daholster · 25/03/2015 16:21

Oh and she reminded us about multivits with vit D in, they should be having them so they don't get rickets Confused

Underwood2013 · 25/03/2015 16:23

Hi RL... we're off to New Zealand. Very excited but also more than a bit anxious about the long list of things that need to happen / get done before we go. Not least of which is giving birth and being in a zombie state for a few months! This baby will (hopefully!) have a passport in record time as we're waiting on her to get our visas processed...

Finally repacked my hospital bag & packed a separate one for baby. Have separated stuff that I'd need in case I actually go into labour (i.e. tens machine) from the rest but I'm expecting c-section so will probably end up leaving those bits at home. Now I only need to add last minute bits like food and chargers so at least I can tick that off the list!!

Underwood2013 · 25/03/2015 16:29

Thanks for that daholster - I am in Surrey but will look into it as I've not had any contact with HV here (only been here a year), the ones I met with were all in Berkshire. Gosh it seems we're always moving but this next one will hopefully be it for a long while! In any event- I'm going to look up that questionnaire - is it as ridiculous as the 9 month one was? Wink

And yes I'll be at FPH tomorrow - but in the morning. If I am still there in the afternoon I will be easy to spot as the tired pregnant very grumpy person who has been there since first thing... hopefully I'll be done by noon but you never know with these things!! Hmm

PenguinPoser · 25/03/2015 16:32

Ah cinnamon what a nightmare with the mot! Glad it's sorted.

Congratulations stuntnun!! Hope feeding improves and you're home soon. Hope you're feeling ok.

Ah Chicken glad your dd had regained her weight, well done! Mine hasn't Sad she's to be weighed again Friday. HV came today was lovely said I just need to sit and feed and sleep and be looked after which is fine while DH is off. I can't talk about the bf without crying at the moment! Don't know what they'll do if she isn't regaining. I'm trying so hard but supply not great.

Ah moomin how annoying!! I don't have paypal cos I don't understand how it works!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/03/2015 16:35

I don't go for that daholster, if they're outside enough March-sept there's plenty of vitD to last for the winter. Plus things like kids fromage frais have added vitD but I'm generally anti supplements anyway.

Ds2's 2 year check was hv and they contacted me. Just a developmental check, nothing medical, and weighing and measuring.

Had my 38week appointment today. All good with bp, urine and hb. Had s&s cervix is not effaced, thick and not well applied Sad. Baby is still head down but 4/5th palpable. She did say that third babies often don't engage until labour. She then told me she's going on holiday weds next week for three weeks so I will end up with bits of midwives for my postnatal checks Sad. Did say I should have sex, didn't feel it necessary to say I was reasonably regularly anyway but will get on it this evening to see if s&s and a bit of sperm together can get my cervix doing something!

ChickenMe · 25/03/2015 16:47

Oh I'm sorry Penguin it is so tough. I've found the feeding tougher than the bloody labour and that was awful. How long is your DH off? I think being kept in hosp actually helped us cos in hosp there are fewer distractions-eg they bring u food etc. Dont beat yourself up cos it's a lot harder when you're on your own - we had over a week in hosp on a feeding programme stuffing her face with formula then ebm so DD had got used to eating more. Her plan was 60ml ebm x 8 a day plus boob top ups so you can see that is unsustainable at home but in hosp there was nothing else to do. It's the bloody jaundice - it stops them demanding as much food as they normally would. You said before you thought they should've kept her in. I certainly felt they should've admitted our DD earlier. Don't know if your HV has recommended putting her in the window, taking her for walks? To get uv light.

RL20 · 25/03/2015 16:49

Underwood how exciting! But understandable that you're feeling a bit anxious of course. How old will baby be when you go?

Cinnamon if the midwife tells me I should be having more sex, I would tell her where to get off! (Excuse the pun). I felt it was quite an achievement that I managed to 'dtd' on Sunday night, one of the few times we actually have during late pregnancy Blush
But if she can guarantee that it will make labour start then great Grin

Why can I still not believe that I'm
36+2?! Blush It's only a matter of weeks before I have a baby ... that sounds very strange!

Lauren82000 · 25/03/2015 16:54

Wow so much to catch up on while I was having may handover. Congrats Stunt, shame about the circumstances but yay for baby cuddles sooner than you expected. Wink and hope your cervix gets a move on Cinnamon.

I had another episode of the really painful bump and back ache this afternoon. Kind of like one big contraction that didn't stop in the top half of my bump. It really, really hurt and took about an hour to pass off. Once it had and I said I was feeling a bit better, my friend said to me she was a bit concerned as I had gone ashen and she didn't want me to go into labour on her. She didn't say anything at the time so I wouldn't panic.Confused

Had a rather wiggly baby though since and definitely lying on the right side as my bump is very wonky.

My handover was super easy and my big boss ended up coming down too. She gave me a hug when everyone had gone. which was really nice, I think she might have a soft spot for me. Grin She didn't hug my friend whose also going off on Friday. (I feel so special Blush)
