With our swamp fanjos and supermarket jobbies it's all going on in our knickers. It's a wonder our men agree to deliver the prostaglandin injections but then we are the 24th Just Shagging Grads!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 24th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is herein its 41st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs herefor once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet is here

So, roll call below please, viroids!

DD is lactdozing (TM) but has a poopy leak. We are going to bathe her as soon as DP is out of the shower so it seems pointless to wake her up but if the midwife turns up now I'm going to be flagged up to SS aren't I?

Yay for good scan Ga! Pic?

Oh la that's awful.

I'm 32, pass me a Zimmer frame!

Fleurchamp · 30/03/2015 13:07

Oh la that's sad, how far along was she?

I am definitely at the lower end of the age range in my yoga class and I am literally going to be 35 plus a few days when nipper arrives (unless he/ she hangs in there for weeks). Seems a bit pointless and a waste of money to me Confused

willywallace · 30/03/2015 13:20

Sorry to hear that La. Was she first trimester?

Gaggia that's ridiculous. They must have calculated your age incorrectly. Or thought you said 42.

MiniWil driving me up the wall.

PixieChops · 30/03/2015 13:58

So sorry to hear about your SIL La, that's terrible news x
Can't believe 35 is classed as geriatric with regards to giving birth! I'm pretty much in the middle of my ante natal group,I was 28 when I had DD and now I'm just 29 and pregnant with my second. I also have appointments to see gynaes and consultants, hopefully they will grant me my planned c section which would be nice! No way can anything else come out the natural way! I'll be as incontinent as a 90 year old woman otherwise!

freshstart4us · 30/03/2015 14:37

La so sorry to hear about your SiL's loss.

Shock to the dark-things-in-dark-places chat. I clearly live a very sheltered life! LOL

Saw your scan pic on FB Ga, very pleased for you!!

purple care protocols differ widely I think. I'm in London, and was 37.5 when I had DD, but there was no mention of geriatric maternal care or additional appts at all. Now 41, and still on the "reduced appts" schedule given for 2nd time mums with no complications, so feel like I've barely seen a mw this time round! Only additional testing I've been offered was for gestational diabetes (both times) as I have that in both sides of my family, although I'm not myself diabetic. Have had one additional private scan at 16 weeks, and will have another at 32 weeks just for fun. Care timeline is in the front of my maternity notes, and I make the next appt on the schedule at reception as I leave. Only age-related thing is that I am strongly encouraged not to go past my due date, as 40+ can bring higher risk of deterioration in the placenta after 40 weeks. So if the little boy blue hasn't arrived by 9 June I will prob go in for induction.

Am not actually going to buy any clothing for DS until after the 32 week scan, when we'll have a birth weight estimate. DD was 8lb8oz but quite long, so I got very little wear out of her newborn sized stuff, pretty much skipped the 0-3 month sizing altogether and went directly to 3-6 months. DH and I are both tall, though, so 'tis only to be expected.

Took a belly measurement this morning - my "waist" is now 101cm, which is more than what my hips used to be! WHY did I do that?!?!?

Pisghetti · 30/03/2015 15:00

Clothing sizes vary a lot shop to shop (just like women's sizing!). My friend gave me a pile of up to one month grows which she completely fills despite not being an especially large baby (will have to check brand). Another friend bought some from Next and she has room to grow into these still. I only bought 0-3 months size things.

Fleurchamp · 30/03/2015 15:28

That's odd about the geriatric care thing then. TBH I don't find things are explained very well in the NHS.

I have another scan booked for when I am 32 weeks. Wasn't told why. I asked my midwife and it's down to my "history" - my mum has diabetes and suffered a still birth as a result and my little niece had CDH which was found at a late growth scan. I assume they will give me a glucose tolerance test too?

freshstart4us · 30/03/2015 15:33

Pis yes the sizes are completely random! I found M&S really roomy, which worked for us, but Mamas and Papas always came up really small. Trial and error. This time round I'll be buying a lot less of everything, they grow so quickly that getting decent wear out of stuff is a real challenge!

Purpleball · 30/03/2015 15:40

I've bought newborn stuff in Asda and sainsburys - no idea how they compare. They all look tiny to me!

Pisghetti · 30/03/2015 15:43

Just checked and the up to 1 month clothes she fills are also Next so apparently sizes vary within the same shop also Hmm

ZylaB · 30/03/2015 15:59

I meant gaggia yay for scan, sorry pis I've got baby brain! ;)

willywallace · 30/03/2015 15:59

Yeah sizes are bullshit. They all shrink after washing too. Asda big, sainsburys small generally. Next and m&s massive.

freshstart4us · 30/03/2015 15:59

Fleur if you haven't been offered GT test then ask. It's supposed to be done at 28 weeks, any later than that and it isn't valid.

splodge77 · 30/03/2015 16:08

what's all this about being geriatric mums over 30?!? I'm 38 so I'm clearly practically dead. just had a lovely conversation with another pregnant friend about piles and sitz-baths. Oh the glamour.

freshstart4us · 30/03/2015 16:17

splodge there with you on the piles, don't think that's age-related though, think it's just simply pg physics. Breastfeeding is the ultimate anti-glamour, though. My boobs have started issuing collostrum so they are officially funbags no more. DH not impressed, given their very impressive size. LOL

Fleurchamp · 30/03/2015 16:45

I am seeing the midwife tomorrow and so will check re glucose test.

Thanks for the heads up about when it needs to be done, fresh

PixieChops · 30/03/2015 16:56

Oh Jeremy Kyles (piles) are a frequent Occurance for me, it's awful! I had a battling war withNext about their baby gros, I bought 2 gros, both the same size but when I got them home one was massive and the other was tiny, I got £30 worth of Next vouchers for alerting them to their shitty sizes. Obviously it's still an issue!

freshstart4us · 30/03/2015 16:58

Damn Pixie wish I'd thought of that! I remember buying stuff from Next for DD in 3-6 months, fitted really well up to the 6 months, then the 6-9 months stuff was only good for a month. Wish I'd taken it all back now!

Fattycow · 30/03/2015 17:37

fresh, maybe you and DH can take a shower together? He can play with the fun bags and any milk coming out will immediately wash away. Wink

teejayem · 30/03/2015 18:24

Had shopping delivered. Lovely delivery man brought it in for me, and then noticed that a pack of my beloved salami (some may remember my early hankering for slices of salami rolled in slices of gouda.... it's never really gone away) well anyway, the best before date on the salami is June 15th, so past my due date. I've spent the last hour sobbing. Because I might have a baby before the salami goes off (let's not go there with current mental logic...) It's been a sobbing day! I am a dick.
I've also just made an all day slow cooked spaghetti and decided I am bored of looking/smelling/tasting it and actually just want a pizza.

That's so sad la, but don't blame yourself, it wasn't your fault - how did your preso go?

I've been laying the babygros that are allegedly a certain size and comparing each manufacturer. I'm in agreement that some are coming up a lot bigger than others. Ditto swaddling things, I've got one from M&P which is absolutely tiny, and then another from Grobaby which I could basically fit in. Both say the same age... Hmm
I've not been added to the blue rinse pregnancy list, am 32 in two weeks tho... I think my hosp is +35.

I've escaped the pile joy so far, although I am probably being a bit over zealous with the old lactulose, more to avoid the poo of death thing again. even so, I can't seem to pass anything much bigger than a frigging multiuser anyway, even pooing is a bloody massive effort!

teejayem · 30/03/2015 18:55

Multiuser?!? ffs, Malteaser!!!!

I shudder to think what a multiuser poo would be.

TheBooMonster · 30/03/2015 19:05

the weights for the clothing sizes actually differ quite a lot, i started making a spreadsheet a while back docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kRE0gc-y9k3cw4JXUR25VsJNla0fD2hvOZ54hu-zrBc/edit?usp=sharing because i am obsessive

la so sorry to hear about your SiL, it's not your fault though, as awful as you feel no thoughts you have had could possibly have changed her outcome.

Fattycow · 30/03/2015 19:09

I like how they size clothes over here: they use centimeters. So an outfit in size 50 is for a baby of 50 centimeters, size 56 for a baby that is 56 centimeters, 62 for a 62cm baby and so on. Sizes go up by 6cm until size 176. After that, you are definitely into the adult sizes!
Me being a short arse, I can usually fit into size 164, 170 and 176 shirt. That is, if they have boob room.

gaggiagirl · 30/03/2015 19:48

fatty are you in Germany? One of us viroids is in Germany I'm sure of it.
