I've been trying to find the time to post for days now, I'm not even sure where the time goes DD isn't a high needs baby.

smiling your MIL is a nightmare I hope you can escape her as soon as possible.

lila I hope you are recovering well from the birth. I have a 3rd degree tear, it's now day 10 and I've only just started to feel uncomfortable now that the swelling is down and the healing has started.

I am also have PIL trouble mostly with FIL. He's had a major tantrum over DDs name, it's unsual very unsual but does have a fairly normal nn. He honestly thought he could demand we change it. I read him the riot act NO one comes into my home 5 days after I've given birth and is verbally absuive. FFS she was 5 days old and he's pegged her to be bullied for the rest of her life!
He's stormed all the way back home, an 8 hour drive and they won't be back down for another 4 months when my SIL has her baby. So poor mil has barely spent anytime with DD. It makes me really sad she's never seen any of her grandchildren as such a young age (they were born abroad) and they are NC with DH brither and his kids over FIL behaviour.
My family on the other hand have been great I thought they would be reslly overbearing but my mum hosted a little family party at mine on Sunday, making all the food etc, so the whole family could meet DD then all leave us in peace for the remainder of DH time off.

Now I'm curious on what the name is...
Pm?

Bloody PIL's little Angry

I know what you mean about not knowing where the time goes, DS is an angel, we are really lucky but I never seem to get anything done.

We took him to have his photos taken today, we've booked a first year photo package which includes 4 sessions, now, 4mths, 8mths, 1yr. We get a picture frame with 4 pictures in (1 from each session), a photo book and a canvas with thumb nail pictures of every photo taken in the shape of a heart.

I'm also intrigued by your DD's name little

smiling I hope you like the photos. We aren't bothering with professional photos DH is really good with the camera. It's like living with a member of the paparazzi.

How is everyone getting on?
DD seems to feed 24/7 I don't mind the constant nursing but she's been sick a couple of times so I worry about her stuffing her tiny tummy.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 25/04/2015 19:57

DS is doing well, he's had colic the last couple of days so is now on infacol which seems to be helping.

We took him to be weighed yesterday, he's now 10lbs 2oz Shock

I can't believe he will be 3 weeks old tomorrow it's gone so quickly.

My stomach has hurt the last couple of days around the c section, there's no infection in fact there's barely a scar it's just it healing according to the doctor but it's really uncomfortable and I'm getting very frustrated at still not being able to do everything I want to.

LIG1979 · 25/04/2015 20:57

Hello!
Been meaning to post and add my stats on but need to be on my laptop to copy and paste....so here I go. (can someone add me to the list please.)

lig 22nd March - boy

All going ok here except ds is suffering from colic. Think we may need to get to the Dr as the poor little boy is really suffering and at times is inconsolable until he can throw up/burb/poop. He is eating well and I feel like he is constantly attached to the boob.

It is odd after having a dd that didn't eat or gain weight where every weigh in was a major stress. This time I can almost see him getting longer and fatter. I just wish he would go a little longer without milk overnight!

Enjoying a couple of days with dh around. tomorrow he is at football and then at work on Monday and I have two to deal with. It is so exhausting and my little girl is up at the moment resulting in lots of screaming from both ds and dd. I am hoping it gets easier soon!

I know what you mean lig.
Dd was 9th centile and the newbie is between 50th and 75th and already growing out of some newborn outfits and size 1 nappies. (Although I will squeeze her into them as I still have at least a week's worth ;-)

LIG1979 · 26/04/2015 18:20

We are into size 2 nappies now Sad he is growing up so quickly.

Tried some gripe water and it seems to be working. It was so upsetting last night as he wouldn't stop screaming and I tried everything. Eventually found a bopping movement helped him and he fell asleep. I never remember dd screaming this much!

LIG I hope the gripe water is working.

DD is on the 25th percentile, now 7 pounds 4 oz we get a lot of comments about how tiny she is amd a few have asked if she was premature. I think its her fine features that make her look smaller.

She appears to have silent reflux (although possibility its a food allergy) she's such a little trooper she doesn't cry but its clearly causing her discomfort.
She loves to be held, 24/7 will absolutely not sleep unless being held. Our co-sleeper isn't getting much use but she wears a snuzza baby monitor whilst asleep so I'm happy to co-sleep.

TinyTear · 30/04/2015 20:35

I get between 30 minutes and 3 hours in the cot each night, all the rest of the time she is on me, feeding or sleeping...

OP posts:
smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 01/05/2015 08:00

We do well at night he feeds about 10pm and goes down to sleep in his moses basket till 1am then again till 5am, but refuses to be put down during the day.

We've managed to get the colic under control so I have my chilled out baby back, he's in his 0-3mths clothes now and when he was weighed last Friday he was 10lbs 2oz.

We think we've found a house were just waiting for references and credit checks to be done, all being ok we will move on the 25th, MIL is still being batshit crazy. I haven't heard anything back from the solicitor yet and I'm very worried about how we will cope financially as the deposit and fees are taking all of my savings.

My boss emailed last night to arrange a meeting to discuss my return to work, my baby isn't even 4wks old yet ffs Angry I'm now stressing that they have decided I can't take him with me, we cant afford childcare now and extending mat leave would financially stretch us to breaking point, bloody MIL.

LittleBairn · 01/05/2015 08:28

smiling that's very similar to our routine too I go to bed with DD after her 9/10pm feed then back up once during the night then we sleep till 6/7am which is fine by me as we have always been early risers.

Glad your DS is back to his chilled out self. Good news on the house front too.
I wouldn't be happy either with bosses contact me so soon either. They seem to have become rather demanding since you became pregnant.
I had a similar situation when I meet DH and was getting married a great long term position suddenly became strained as my bosses demanded more and more of me. It was like they panicked when they realised I would have a life independent of them.

I'm going to try out our stretchy wrap today for the first time, I've been avoiding it because I've been dealing with pulled muscles (due to bedrest) constantly since delivery.
DH went back to work on Tuesday I was bit nervous before hand despite not doing much different from the day job but its been fine I've enjoyed it. I even managed to get into walk into town yesterday with the pram to run a few errands and have lunch.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 01/05/2015 20:43

DP is still on paternity leave he goes back to work on the 11th of may, it's been a god send with the c section and keeping MIL at bay.

My friend had a miscarriage last night she was almost 12 weeks Sad

LittleBairn · 02/05/2015 07:30

smiling your poor friend. Sad

I'm glad you have had your DP around it must be hard caring for DS and dealing with C-section. I was on the post natal surgical ward and the poor C section women had it tough it seems way more brutal than I imagine.

LIG1979 · 02/05/2015 08:50

Sorry about your friend smiling. Nice that dp has so much time off work especially with a c section. Work do seem to be quite demanding especially considering you are recovering from a c section.Â

Little - I guess there will be after effects of so much bed rest. How are you enjoying the outside world?

Wow - you all have good sleepers. ds was doing pretty well with some 4/5 hour stretches at night but now I think we have hit the 6 week growth spurt and he has been up every 2.5 hours or so all night. However, my big issue at the moment is dd and her sleep. She has always been a great sleeper but the last week or so it has gone horrendously wrong. The night before last, dh was working overnight and between them I was up with only minutes of sleep between 1am and when we got up. Eventually I was so tired that at 7.20am, dd had to wake me to tell me ds was crying. Luckily last night dh dealt with dd so I could deal with ds.

Took ds to be weighted on Tuesday and all the milk is having an impact. He is now 9 lb 8oz. So over 50% increase in birth weight in 5 weeks. Luckily the colic seems to be better but forgot to give the gripe water/infacol and it still seems better. He actually is awake now without either screaming or feeding which is a relief. Was getting concerned he would be crying forever!

LittleBairn · 02/05/2015 14:33

LIG Grin I'm loving the outside world but I swear there are more cars about than before! I need to get out each day too luckily DD likes her pram. I'm thinking of taking her into the city on the train next week to visit my cousin and her kids.

So glad your DS is feeling better. I remember my sister having the same issue with her two tag teaming her at night meaning she got zero sleep.

I've been reading wonder weeks so I'm mentally prepping for the 6 week leap.

TinyTear · 02/05/2015 14:51

Little we just arrived at the week 5/6 leap.. I am stuck on the sofa feeding all day

LIG1979 · 02/05/2015 15:15

Glad it isn't just me tiny. ds is getting very anxious and upset if he is not in touching distance of a boob.
