Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 23rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 40th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet is here

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Ooh who?

Yes I'd agree with that Purple.

Why is the consultant against a CS Splodge?

I need a hooya! Keep getting a feeling like something is about to happen then feeling vaguely disappointed. When I woke up this morning I looked across to check in the Moses basket - except it isn't even in the fucking bedroom and never has been!

I'm feeling weirdly horny - maybe a good shag would sort me out.

Pisghetti · 04/03/2015 09:08

Ask for another consultant Splodge. You have to right to a CS especially with your history of birth injury so don't allow him to fob you off. I believe the NICE guidelines are the place to start.

Oh pis this might be symptoms that its going to start?! Grin

DP has taken DD on a school trip this morning, to the library which is 2 doors down from my house. They've just all walked by in an orderly line, he's already text to tell me he hates me Grin I could get used to this resting malarkey!

Morning viroids!

splodge keep on at them - my friend got fobbed off at first but got her ELCS in the end.

Today my bump is completely flabby, not hard at all - it's like baby has melted away and I'm just fat. Oh my god it's a chocolate baby!

lemon is the bfp - hooray! Looking forward to some drizzletwunt chat on here :)

This week has been mental! Work then something in the evening every night. Didn't get home til 10pm last night and had no tea, so I've just wolfed down a massive bowl of crunchy nut. Mmmmm...sugar...

Yesterday I had a bit of an eventful day. I went to my old school to give a careers talk. Started up the school's drive and there was a car stopped in front. Car then drove off and I saw a wobbly staggering fox in the road that they'd obviously just hit. Poor thing! It was going round and round in circles, typical of a head injury. I stopped the (not my!) car and found some blankets in the boot. Approached the fox and he tried to run away but couldn't - he did manage to get under the fence though. So I had to climb the fence in my work pencil skirt and tights, managed to throw blanket over him, scooped it under to make a bag and then had to clamber back over again with him in the blanket. He was an adult fox so not light! Also they can give a nasty bite. Put him in the boot and drove up to the school. Range the doorbell and went 'Hi, I'm here to give a talk on animals, but I actually have an injured fox in the boot so I'll need to go to the vet first!'.

They were lovely - sent someone with me to help direct me to the vet surgery. Poor thing - he was a bit more compus mentus by the time we got there and nearly took the vet nurse's hand off when she opened the blanket. Hopefully he's going to survive and they will release him back where I found him. The students LOVED the story when I finally got back in to start the talk.

Unfortunately my colleague's car, my car and my house all now reek of fox, coz I had to bring the blankets home to wash. I'm currently disinfecting the washing machine!!!

dulcet well done on your award, that's brilliant!!!

fleur bless your dh for celebrating scan with gifts! What a sweetie!

tee I took my belly button piercing out about 8 years ago and I've still got the hole - it's stretching a bit at the moment! I can see the end of my belly button, it's nearly popping out...

I'm getting regular kicks now - some very sore ones! But it's quite lovely. I'm not sure if I've had any tonis, I can't tell.

tee what was the answer about the grobags? I have a few donated ones and not sure what to do at all, will they be too hot?

lil! Well done on the stealth shag - proud of you!!! I think taking it easy the first month is good idea, keep the pressure off and let yourself recover a bit.

I also want monitor recommendations please! Can't afford the expensive Angelcare one anymore, so might have to go with the less expensive non video one. Do you need a video?

have a shag pis it might bring it on!!

Apologies for massive post.

la I noticed the angelcare one had doubled in price on Amazon again, I didn't buy it when it was cheap and I'm kicking myself! There's a tommee tippee one with video and heart monitor that I've been looking at as an alternative but I have no idea if it's any good or not!

Report
ChatEnOeuf · 04/03/2015 09:35

I'm not giving that a hooya, Pis, that's exactly what happened to my friend Smile

Splodge what's his reason for refusal? He can't do that, though he does have to counsel you about alternatives etc. before agreeing. You can always ask for a second opinion.
Good times, Lauren. DD's cartwheels were pretty painful too. Have you got a bag packed now? Wink

Purple there was no hope of getting DD down awake, just not in her make-up. Definitely agree though, babies don't read textbooks...good thing too, there's so many out there I'd never pick the same one as they did Grin

For those of you asking about gro bags, if you go on their website there's a table which tells you what bag to use and which clothes, depending on the temperature of the room :).

I think babies have to be over 8lb to use them though, H is too small so using a cellular blanket at the moment.

Report
LaLaLaaaa · 04/03/2015 09:40

Brilliant, thanks zyla! I will look that up. I've got 3 donated ones and was planning to use them if I can. What do you use in the first instance?

ZylaB · 04/03/2015 09:42

purple we can't put H down awake, in fact some days she could be awake or asleep and we can't put her down at all! They definately don't read the books. I think very young babies just cry to let you know they need something, be it feeding, a clean nappy, or a cuddle, or that they're ill or uncomfy, and they don't know how to manipulate or mess about, they just need what they need.

Report
ZylaB · 04/03/2015 09:45

la H is in a vest and sleep suit under a cellular blanket in a room between 18 and 20 degrees C at the moment. But you have to put them to the bottom of the cot so they can't shuffle under the blankets (H doesn't sleep in the bed sometimes when she won't settle with rolled up blankets so I wpnt roll onto her, oh no, not t all!)

Report
ZylaB · 04/03/2015 09:46

*on the bed, not in it, I wouldn't put her under a duvet! ;)

Bless you La! Good luck with the destink... I got told to put ketchup on the dog to neutralise fox whiff.... random but it works! Not sure how much you'd need to put in the washer though Grin Grin

Get shagging pis! Worked for me Wink (Maybe, who knows!?)

Ah, the mythical "drowsy but awake" advice! Works about 20% of the time here purple Grin I read a lot of books when I was pregnant but I haven't found myself referring to any of them since DS has been here. I think we already know internally what kind of parent we want to be and so we'll default to that anyway. Going with the flow is easiest with a newborn I've found. Smile and nod at unwanted advice Smile

Not getting a hooya from me either Pis. In fact I'm dusting off the pom poms!

Don't worry Zyla, I frequently had babywil in my bed during the first month. She's a lot better in her crib now.

Cellular blankets to start with La. Don't know if someone else already said that. Although some people have also recommended those special swaddle suit things. Min found them really helpful I think. Don't know if they have a minimum weight or not.

Report
RPopz · 04/03/2015 11:00

The swaddle suit we had was minimum weight 7 or 8lbs.

Are cellular blankets the type that people home make? DD was big enough to go straight into a bag when she was born so I'm a blanket novice! Do they not get their little fingers stuck in the holes?

Report
willywallace · 04/03/2015 11:10

Oh and as far as monitors are concerned. We got a basic video one by Summer Infant. It does the job grand - this was two years ago so not sure what models they have now. My friend had the slightly better one of the same make which had extra features and clearer picture and she really liked it. It's not necessary at all to have a video although helpful if you're prone to paranoia/too lazy to check on baby Grin .

Quick! Have it off pis! You could be one flagrant jizzing away from a baby!

la that is so lovely, we currently have wildlife of the mousey variety in the loft and have been catching them one by one and letting them go In nearby woodland (hopefully far away enough for them to find a new home) I can't bring myself to kill them, and even last night I got upset that the one we let go might have been a mummy or daddy mouse and what will happen if there are baby mice? :(

I have discovered Starbucks frozen chocolate cream drink and it is basically sexual. There's been a Black Forest hot chocolate shaped hole in my life and I think this might just fill it. I've wanted one since about 4am, so I'm pleased with holding out this long. Hoping that the m&s in town have the baby vests I want (bright stripy Mr men ones) as they are only selling newborn sizes online and I need some bigger sizes in case tiny tee is a corker. That said Mr tee is only 5"3. So I might be alright. I'm just fixated on any non white vests at the moment. Anything but bloody white and pastels!

Hi Everyone!
I see news of my BFP has reached you already Grin I am very excited to be here! I have to say I don't even know if I'm officially late yet, just that I am the proud owner of a MFBFP. I am very twingey though, is this normal? I am not normally a worrier but am already convinced this means I'm heading for an ectopic or a chemical Confused

Please give me a hooyah to welcome me into the fold?
Report
batfish · 04/03/2015 11:28

Woohoo lemon congrats and welcome! Awesome news! Yep I think twingy is normal, I'm only 8+5 and most days I feel absolutely nothing at all but some days I've had hours of twinges - I had 2 whole days of it about 3 weeks ago which panicked me but then when it stopped that panicked me too haha. How exciting!
